The Winds of Change

(TL😉R: Indonesia is Poland or however it's said and the Forums are outdated as a social vehicle)

gday Australia,

It seems as if I can never be released from disaster and misfortune. jaja It's only melodrama; a crippling migraine isn't the worst thing that has happened to me. However, I still had difficulty with energy and ability. With that finished, let us now hail our Indonesian overlords and their holy flag.

...Why are the colours inverted? Was it not like this one week ago?

AH! I understand now. Poland has conquered Indonesia and inverted their flag colours. It is a pleasant change I say. Something worth huzzahs and happiness over. However, that alone wouldn't be enough to title this article WINDS OF CHANGE. There was another topic not in the game itself that grasped my attention.

For those of you who don't have a forum account, this arguement (thread) was written by BOUD1CCA (Louise Brooks) who bemoans that "There is just no life any more🙁." This seems to have become a problem despite the ever-constant ebbs and flows of Auserepublik.

Everyone can agree that player retention has always been an issue ever since the beginning of this game. That is something that can't be denied by anyone.

One of the most important things about retaining players is that they should be engaged within the community. However, what happens when a certain community attempts to cater to a group that no longer follows how it communicates?

The Internet has changed from the beginning of the game, and sadly we the citizens of eRepublik have not fully adapted to these changes. To today's potential citizens, the Forums are too slow to truely be an engaging experience and IRC consumes too much of most people's time.

It is wonderful that Poland had conquered Indonesia just as the Circle of Trust has disbanded, but we have now begun another period of uncertainty. And as I look at our dwindling numbers in comparison with Indonesia, I don't see a bright future post-occupation as we are. This is why I say we need to adapt to how the Internet is now or continue to dwindle at every crisis until we die.

Do not misunderstand. The Forums are still very effective for Politics and the Military, but it has become outdated as a way for others to speak with one another to many of the younger generation that we want to engage in eRepublik. Did you agree? Disagree? I want this to be a real conversation that everyone will see and discuss.

Thank you for your time,
