The start of my life in this new world.

Two months ago I was introduced to this new world by a friend, Zurkon. At first I was lost in the many places of this unknown world, I got a Letter from a guy called admin, he told me the many things that I should do. Confused as I was his letter helped me a lot. First I got a Job producing diamonds, something that I was quite good at doing…the salary was good too (or so I thought) but, soon enough I had to buy food and discovered that I wasn’t able to buy much. Yet I could not resign from my job but that was not something I thought about doing, after all, I didn’t know if this world was cruel like the world I came from where you had to be thankful for your job because there were many unemployed people that could not get jobs because of the economic condition, some even ended up losing their homes. Resigning from my job was something I was practically “scared” of doing. So I thought to myself that I was better of keeping this job.
After getting a Job and stocking my bag with all the food I could get I took another peek at my letter to see what I should do next. To my surprise it directed me to the army where I had to train so that I would be ready when war came. War was something new to me….something I had never experienced in my life, I wasn’t scared of it but I didn’t look forward to trying it either. After training I took another peek at my letter and I was directed to some kind of social club called “The eCanadian Forum for eRepublik”, there I was able to ask as many questions about this new world as I wanted. People were very nice and welcomed me right away.
I was told to ask Mustache Dictator for some kind of uniform that everyone was wearing…there were many different colours of uniforms and apparently they all stood for a different title. I was told to get a red uniform which meant that I was a plain eCanadian Citizen. Then I was told to ask Immigration Canada to receive some kind of new citizen bursary to help me buy food and other things, the bursary was very helpful as I didn’t have much food and not much money either, with it I was able to buy enough food for a whole week.
When it was already dark only then did I remember that I was homeless, but, apparently many people were too so there was a shelter especially for new citizens like me. The shelter was cosy, not exactly 5star but hey, it was good enough for me.
That night before I went to sleep I thought about tomorrow and what this new world would hold for me…I hope it is something good.

Good article.
Nice. That is pretty much the same experience I had when I joined!
It's funny how those first few steps feel so big. I felt like such a doorknob after I asked Kelly Mahoney about resource regions and how they would affect my productivity. At least she didn't laugh right in my face.
I hope this reminds our elite of how it feels to be new and how we could be doing so much more to help them. In the meantime if anyone has questions feel free to PM me.
It reminds me of the "Life and Death of an eRepublikan" (amazing text) in the sense that it's almost a story and that you use kind of metaphore for talking about some things (mask - uniform) or imaged description for houses.
I like this, great text!
Thx for all the great comments guys 🙂Now I have a motivation to write more 😛
