The fate of eCanada

So, Atlantis is done for because eRomania got rolled last week. I'll admit, I was somewhat satisfied though seeing a country run by tyrants be brought down. Unfortunately, it was brought down by another country run by tyrants. But I digress...
That leaves us, the other Atlantis countries (aka, the leechers, the "excess weight", you get my point) in limbo. Do we stay neutral? Or do we....*gasp*....join PEACE?!?!
As absurd as the latter sounds, it is the most likely outcome given our conservative government. They do NOT want war. What this will inevitably mean is that eCanada will become a puppet state like a lot of the smaller PEACE countries have in the past. The same thing will happen to the eUSA.
So is that it? Is that what eCanada has come to? Yes. Did it have to be this way? No. We could have gone done with Guns A' Blazin and maybe actually enjoyed the game a bit. Read my article which I published a few days ago.
My predictions:
1. eCanada and eUSA both join PEACE by the end of the week
2. We become puppet states and get TOed by our "allies" within a month
3. Take part in a series of Resistance Wars

I have no idea about how the politics of alliance making and breaking work, so I'm throwing in my 2 cents knowing it's not worth nearly that much.
If were playing a regular strategy game, like Axis and Allies, the game would simply end once one alliance gained enough power to secure an economic or territorial victory. Why keep playing when you can't win?
So do all countries now just fold to the PEACE steamroller? Yay, now we're all allies or vassals of one big empire. What a fun game that would be.
Why would be align ourselves with PEACE if by doing so we may keep our 'sovereignty' but have no gameplay value remaining? This would only be worth doing if fractures in PEACE were visible, meaning that we could join a rebel group or we could wait it out until PEACE implodes due to its own weight.
What's the biggest killer of any massive empire?
Logistics - sure, but not a problem in eRep.
Taxation and starvation - the business module is too fine tuned to run into imbalances and food shortages.
Barbarian invasions - doubt it, unless neutral contries start forming a secret alliance.
Power struggles and uprisings - Bingo! There's always someone out there greedy for power. Discontent will grow out of boredom and leaders will start colluding to chisel away a piece of the pie. Keeping tabs on who is your friend or foe is just as tricky here as in RL. Only in RL, you can have conspirators or a rebellious populace killed off. Can't do that here.
The kicker: The gold bug. If that exploit isn't stopped then it will be hard to have uprisings because they'll just quash it with unlimited funds. Then players will see the game is basically over and eRep will be in decline. The winners will have the whole world to themselves because many will have given up and moved on to something else. Wow, what a victory that is.
In the end it comes down to admins- IF the bug is not fixed then this game is over - sad but true the game IS OVER.
IF the bugs are "Fixed" then we can take a stand at tyrrany and power regardless of how large our foes maybe. Atleast we know there is a limited quanity of gold and we will secure ways to fight with whatever means possible.
But are these bugz fixed?? if not .... then what choice do we have in this game.
