The eRepublik API (eAPI)
Hold on to your hats people, the way for citizens to build third party applications on top of eRepublik is finally here. The eAPI is almost ready and we need you to test it out.
That’s right, we’re giving a handful of developers the privilege to start working on their eApps before everybody else has a chance to.
What can you do to get in? -- we hear what you say -- well, just send us an email at api@erepublik.com with the following questions answered and we’ll let you know if you qualify to be among the first batch of eAPI ninjas:
- What's your citizen name?
- What’s your real name and where are you from?
- What’s your preferred programming language?
- What do you do for a living and for how long have you been doing it?
- What other applications (websites included, mind you) have you recently worked on?
- What other APIs have you used before and what was the last one(s)?
- What type of eApp would you have in mind for eRepublik?
A member of our team will contact you for further information about the eAPI.

Leave the api, make the damn server work at least basically. There are almost 2 days since erepublik.com has been virtually impracticable.
At least make the documentation public. So that we know if we want to test it.

It would be nice if eR-team could inform players properly about maintenance works like this. I've tried to change my avatar for two days and now I know the reason why it didn't work.

Now let's just make sure Windows developers don't produce the piles of useless UI junk they normally push out and come up with something usable that doesn't look like crap for once.

I don't know if this API is different than what APPLE did on Iphones with SDK. But I am sure in a world that I live with a fear of being hacked (personally) or when even countries can be hacked (like Russia) yesterday, this API could bring nothing useful here.
There are more important BUGS that should be fixed before adding new feauters.
A page that query the server with some datas of the user/country/etc. and returns them in XML is the best thing for the moment. You can use that data with js,flash,etc,.
you should focus in fixing the current problems that bringing new ones to the game....
The game is full of bugs and all erepublik team cares is in bringring more stuff to create new bugs!!

I agree that maybe the API should wait a little while until other bugs / suggestions, are fixed / implemented.
It would also give more time to do what Softwynd said: make a rough "user's manual" (doesn't have to be perfect) so that we can start thinking about what kinds of things are possible.
There should be no additions to this game until admins STOP working with Romanians.

I'd really like to know what a developer is able to check with the eAPI. could we check a citizens wellness? strength? or is it only for GOLD transfers (as indicated on the wiki page).

Cristi i suggest you that your team need some policy of communication.
Every time that there's a problem in the game you dont say nothing about that, neither some like "we are sorry, in this moment we are having this problem, we will fix it soon".
You always wait that people complain and complain to finally give an official explanation. Come on guys, that's very important in any service that a company offer.

I think more information tabs to include for example # of online players in a given country, a interactive world map in which you can click the state/ region of a country to find business that reside there, citizens, ect.. More information the better

In all faireness this is a very large project they are working on. Fixing ingame bugs takes time and testing and a fix now may just turn into a problem later so sometimes its easier to fix things as you are developing the overall experiance. New features create new oppertunities for problems yes but they also create a means to get around old problems by just simply redesigning a problem part of the game to work with the new feature and in doing so it is possable to fix the problem without actually doing anything directly to fix it. With this game expanding in the ways that it is Iam not so sure that what they are doing is not the best way to go about things. However, I do agree that they need to be keeping us up to date on problems as they come up. There are a lot of very talented people playing this game and any one of them could help the design team in many differant ways.

I love hope people are telling the admins to fix the bugs before they do anything else even though the article clearly states that they're giving the API to 3rd party developers to make new things for the site, thus allowing the admins of the site to concentrate on the bugs of the site, yet still allowing for new features to come, too.

they doesn't give us any doc or any information to understand if we really wants to spend our time for eRepublic development.
With all changes and after all their faults, they're trying to give us a piece of their... confortable job.
Simply ridicolous, fix all eRepublik core functionalities and logics and then, publish an API.
