The two things that BUG me [@Admins]
Dear readers,
all of you know how the war in Russia ended. Romania pulled a nice trick, one worthy of Victor Petrescu. I congratulate Romania for using the game mechanics to the fullest, I feel the pain of my Russian brothers.
However, there are still two things I would like an explanation about. It are things I haven't been able to find in the rules, though seem quite unlogical to me.
1. How can a president involved in an impeached procedure retreat the troops? Especially considering the fact that already enough votes we're cast in favor of the impeachment, therefore assuring the impeachment of the president.
2. How can a president retreat it's country into the sea? Destroying it by letting it's troops vanish into thin air?
(Only Atlantis presidents should be able to sink their country into the sea
)
Furthermore I want to draw attention to the citizenship request once more. There are countless topics about the issue but I will just link to Misho's article and this good idea of Benn Dover.
I'm looking forward to a response.

1. The impeachment just like other laws have a pr-established deadline. This deadlines make it possible to receive as much votes as you can. Also, for example if a congress of 40 members gets 21 pro votes in the first 15 minutes, one thing is to close the pols then and another is to respect the rules and close them after 24 hours when the count might be 21 pro and 19 against. It's a psychological impact and it could help others say: "I told you so.." if the specific law proves to be not a good one.
2. And yet again, these rules applies to every citizen, is not like there is something that only one part of you is affected. All games in this world are played by the rules and most likely the one who lost is about to blame Gods, faith or the rules for not gaining success in their actions. Is human nature. As you said: "Only Atlantis presidents should be able to sink their country into the sea " Maybe next time this rule will favor your side.
As for political takeovers, these types of actions are a part of eRepublik, these kind of events are making eRepublik spin. Is not something irreversible, that cannot be fight back. Each citizens has the proper tools to make history in the New World. Look at Finland vs Norway example.
2. How can a president retreat it's country into the sea? Destroying it by letting it's troops vanish into thin air?
I think the purposes of the retreat option weren't too much though of when implemented. These should be be to stop wasting resources of fellow countrymen in a hopeless losing battle or giving up in a RW in order to assure indepedence of a conquered country. I can't think of any others.
The first scenario presents more interest, therefore, RETREATING FROM THE BATTLE FOR THE CAPITAL REGION SHOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE in order to avoid these kind of situations and keeping a country on the map. This would also require some adjustments for different scenarios.
And there was a rule (atleast everyone says) that a citizen who just moved to a new country coudn't vote in the first days. If that was the case, where is it written that it was removed?
That rule existed only in beta, but that didn't prevent political takeovers. Ask the Irish

The citizenship request is being taken into consideration. We have noticed the increased support given by citizens to this idea. Further details about this feature will be announced in a future Insider article.
About the questions in this article:
1." How can a president involved in an impeached procedure retreat the troops?" If a president under impeachment would not be allowed to carry out his presidential duties, than a single congressman would be able to disrupt the politics of the entire country.
Also, the game system should be changed for the better purpose of the entire game, not for a specific situation.

We would like you to notice that the retreat button refers to troops retreating from a battle, a action that should always be possible. For the moment we consider that it would be fit to allow the presidents to have unrestricted use of this feature.

I think there should be a congress vote to surrender you country, that gives a bit more safety, then putting the power at one man.

1. That answer still doesn't take into account that the proposal had already passed with more than 66% of the congress (and therefore votes) in favour. Impeachment is a serious issue and an impeached president should not be able to destroy a whole country.
A congressman can already disrupt the politics of an entire country, I don't know if you've seen what happened in Norway with the treasury?
In my opinion a president should not be able to disrupt the entire politics of a country, especially if it's a foreign puppet. It's retreating tjat allows this to happen. A political takeover can now destroy a country in a matter of seconds, a small country has no protection at all.
2. You say the retreat button refers to retreating troops from a battle. But it's a lot more than that, it's wiping a country of the map. Why is the retreat option that important? Why should it always be possible?
It's easy for returning regions to a country, it's even easier to wipe a country of the map this way. If it's meant for an easy transfer of a region, the congress should just be able to vote for it. In the middle of a war it has no use, it might prevent some of your citizens from fighting in a battle, but there is a task of a country to organize it's military.
I really can't agree to these answers.
What makes the retreat button that important that you sacrifice the well-being of smaller nations for it?
How can there be no protection against political takeovers?
How can a puppet president certain of being impeached be allowed to destroy a country?
This is cheap warfare. Romania made good use of these mechanics (as they apparently did know of these rules) but this should not be possible in the future.
This needs to be reverted PERIOD. I want more people to know of this scandal so every player knows if eRepublik is fixed or not. If this issue will not be fixed, you will lose a HUGE chunk of your community.

Actually, I couldn't believe what Admins said (or wrote) here without reading their comments with my own eyes.
If I am allowed to restate your questions Jazar, you're asking about the LOGIC (italic/BOLD/big font size) and they answer about:
"whose favor is this?!",
"this is a part of eRepublik",
"blame GOD!",
"it's a specific situation"
There are many people around the World asking the questions about this server-overload-delay-last-seconds-proposing-hiding-presidency-oneday-immigration-political-takeover-impeached-president
There can only be fair play if the rules stated on the official wiki do apply. Otherwise it gives huge advantage to people who know how the rules in game. Also changes need to be told before the change is there.
Than logic should also be part of a virtual world. It can be it's owwn logic, but it should be logic.
I am very sorry that both thing are not working as it should be. But at least now the admin is telling because so many players likes athe s8uggestion about citizenship that it could become reality. Now that is a huge step forward, beter late than never.
And Jazar, as many others also did, made very good suggestions in his comments. It would be nice if those will make it into reality in eRepublik. That would both satisfy many players and would bring profit to the owners of eRepublik.

from what i know the party that nominate that romanian isnt top 5 parties, and only have 2 members, now another rules are break by romanian
there was no cheating what so ever, stop relating to the fact that the admins are from Romania.
From my point of view, the 1st point is as normal as it can get. As the admin said, one congressman could propose a president impeachement every 24 hours. What then ?
But related to the 2nd point, i don't think is normal that the retreat button should be visible when a country only has one region left. That's as fair as possible, it's against any moral laws that a country can dissapear from the world map because the president retreated.
My opinion, an if cause: if countryRegions=1, no more retreat button . Seems fair.
p.s: Don't get me wrong, i'm happy with the strategy, as i said in another post, we only maid in eR what Russia is making in RL
I was still under impression that a citizen that just moved to a country coudn't vote for the first days. We need(!!!) clear rules in this game. Everything is changed without good clarification how things work.
(and the wiki isn't a good place for that since everyone (registered users) can change those pages and it isn't clear which pages are correct)

Procedure of impeachment of the president of Russia has been begun at 00:01 since to all citizens of Russia it was clear that it is the Romanian сapture. Also what we see? The new president of Russia has there and then handed over all country to Romanians, despite the fact that what was under impeachment procedure. It not absurdity?
How you can explain that fact, what the president being under impeachment procedure retreat all country? On a place of Russia there can be any young country. It is very dishonest game. Citizens of Russia demand revision

They say that one congressman can block the president when the president can't do anything. Well, make a feature that removes this blocking. Only once per 48 hour and once per person, or something like it.

New countries to the game are given a 45 day grace period before war can be declared (see Croatia) why can't something like that be implemented when a country is reestablished?

No, I never found these rules. And I do not understand what you are proud of. You won with the enemy, and not showing what the rules of play. This is the same that go to play football, but did not explain the opponents, which are needed gates.

@borges16 you are transforming a good topic pointing out the necessity of a change in game, to a useless polemic: the Romanians (I am also one, and I'm proud of what they did) turned a situation where 6 countries were attacking and we were losing into a winning war using whatever means were necessary. Is there anybody thinking that this maneuver of taking over a country in elections and surrender it afterwards, is just something the Romanians thought of it, or is it something that was waiting to happen ?????? So nobody from 60 000 player thought of it, except some 10 leaders of Romania.
Let's try to think in a more constructive way and try to find a solution to the problems not just throw dirt at each other.

The second question is very good. A single man has all the power to destroy a country in a couple of seconds. This is totally absurd.

@okoopat I think none of the other players thought of this dirty trick, cause were just to good for that, we dont need those low level tricks to win a war, we fight, and we fight well.
