Forewor😛 Let’s escape from reality with some history. Indonesia is by far one of the most controversial names in all of eRepublik. Some immediately condemn it as the center of all evil, botnets. Others immediately cry out PEACE AT HOME, PEACE IN THE WORLD. It shows the controversial nature of this Empire that conquered everything in sight.



The story of Indonesia starts out so similarly to all the other empires. It was discovered in the year 2007 near Christmas time. The website that would be this Empire’s grand daddy was www.e-samarinda.com/ . The boom was reportedly so unexpected that they didn’t even have enough food for all the new players. Shortly thereafter, the country started getting hospitals and defense systems fit for a king. Nearly all the famed Indonesian tanks came in during this time. Wizze_don, etc. This was before the war module. The first real act of the country was a NAP with Pakistan and an attempt to PTO China, which was thwarted by multiple accounts being found. Thus begins the saga.

Once the war module was installed, Indonesia declared war on Australia. Allegedly, because the President sent an insulting letter to the Indonesian CP. That wasn’t an unusual way for wars to start, as the war between Denmark and Sweden started in the same way. The miltaries of the two nations were so unbalanced that Indonesia conquered Australia quickly. For an unknown reason, Indonesia’s population then doubled and even tripled because of their conquest of Australia. Or mysterious reasons depending on which side you’re on.



The most devoted Empire?

This rocketed Indonesia to a population of 2,000 making it a super power. That was a massive amount of players back then. Shortly after this conquest, Indonesia set it’s eyes to Europe where it started making MPPs. It also started one of the first tank-squads to protect Russia from the Norwegian advances and Germany from the Swedish offensives. Around this time, Indonesia started to PTO South Africa in response to it’s MPPs with the nations from the Northern Alliance which was a precursor to ATLANTIS, which was the precursor to EDEN. This PTO had devastating consequences for Indonesia internally however. Again with this PTO, multiple accounts were seen. The country became divided, but they waged war on South Africa anyway. The Admins suspended the war however, because of the multiple accounts. Indonesia managed to occupy the Eastern cape though.

The next major escapade came when ATLANTIS and PEACE Global Community were built. Indonesia went through South Africa to attack Argentina, which was a founding member of ATLANTIS. Indonesia was a founding member of PEACE as well. Argentina helped ATLANTIS in Operation French Toast and Romania’s attacks on Russia by blocking Indonesia. They were routinely ignored by ATLANTIS however, and started drifting to PEACE. They negotiated the return of their regions, and eventually became a full member. ATLANTIS/EDEN has never recovered from this blow. Nearly all of South America is firmly PEACE/Phoenix.

Sometime around now, the Australians started to RW Victoria and New South Wales, but the attempts failed miserably. They then started diplomatic relations with Indonesia and negotiated the return of those regions.



From this point on Indonesia didn’t participate in any direct wars, they just sent their soldiers abroad to defend other countries like Hungary, where deep friendships started. Hungarians widely consider Indonesia their Father in eRepublik. When Hungary was still weak, the Indonesians were strong and defended and taught the Huns. You can still see this bond today between Hungary and Indonesia.

Once 2009 rolled around, Indonesia got new neighbors. Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand. As is the way in eRepublik, there was a rush to PTO each of the new countries. Later on, Thailand allowed Indonesia to landswap through into India and China. India had recently been PTO’d by Indonesia, so it was easy for them to get the most valuable resource of V1, Iron. They also conquered lands in China. At this time, Romania was still in Russia.

Indonesia’s goal was revealed when they landswapped through their ally’s land, in Pakistan. They allowed the Indos to have a border with Romania. Ironically, Romania wanted to strike Iran but PEACE protected them, so Romania declared war on Indonesia. Indonesia striked first, with Hungary providing blocking attacks. I go more in depth about this here. I’m sticking to the Indonesian story in this article, I already wrote the history of Romania.



Through some missteps with the Romanian Military, the Indonesians occupied Western Siberia. They placed a Q5 Hospital and DS and started moving people there to defend it. Continuing the Indonesian tradition, many of the new citizens there were fake. In fact, they were made in such numbers that there was to be a change in the rules. Regardless, Romania re-conquered Western Siberia in a memorable battle.

It seemed like the end was near. PEACE only possessed a few high iron regions, two in Brazil and the other in K-land which was occupied by Indonesia. Iran also had 2 in China. Romania got extremely close to taking K-land, one region away. Indonesia had internal troubles, and impeached its President. However, now the tides would be turned.

In one of the most dramatic moments in eRepublik, Romania lost initiative. Indonesia, with the aid of Hungary’s blocks and PEACE’s armies, pushed the Romanians out of India and China. They even pushed them back to Western Siberia. In perhaps the most significant battle in all of eRepublik, Indonesia won. The battle saw the entire armies of ATLANTIS and PEACE GC. However, Indonesia’s win was contested. They utilized a bug that added 200k to their attacks, and Romania entered non-combat mode in protest. Indonesia got “unfairly” punished in their opinion, and almost didn’t press on. They of course decided to do so anyway, and took back all the remaining regions of the Romanian empire.

Romania had one last trick up it’s sleeve, however. A PTO of grand proportions. A PTO of Indonesia. The 3rd largest country in eRep. They moved many Romanians and members of ATLANTIS to win the congressional elections. This was before citizenship. They were so close. I can personally remember taking part in this operation. All you did was move to the country and vote for X candidate, and move back home. Bing, Bang, Boom. Romania’s operation was ridiculously close, if I recall correctly they had around 46% of Congress under their control. Simply astonishing. Indonesia managed to persevere though.

After a few months, ATLANTIS saw destruction and Indonesia was bored. They wanted a challenge. They wanted America.

Perhaps sometime I’ll write a recap of WWIII. It was truly the most intense war ever, in my honest opinion. It saw Canada wiped off the map, and America down to Florida. It also saw a change in the heart of the Americans. No longer did we look inwards, but were suddenly invigorated to fight for our allies. In that way, all of PEACE lost WWIII. Land wise, it was a different story. Indonesia land swapped through Japan, and conquered Hawaii, and then California in a massive battle. They made it all the way to Alabama.



However, the tide started to turn. The false peace proposal (Emerick. I still remember seeing the link to the “debate” he gave for the proposal. It was a muppet saying WAKKAWAKKAWAKKA. I had no idea what he was up to, but I followed. o7 Emerick) Indonesia’s fortunes turned ill faster. Their President Wizzie_Don was banned. America attacked California for the 2nd time, and Indonesia spent massive amounts of gold to protect it. Ironically, they won the 2nd battle. If i recall correctly, it was the 1st time a wall was above 1 million. Then America attacked a 3rd time and took it effortlessly as Indonesia was out of money, and no longer wanted to defend it.

Indonesia fell from that point, to obscurity. They lost their entire empire, Australia, China, South Africa, everything. They fell differently than every other empire in eRepublik. They fell as an Empire with no more goals. They achieved everything. What was left? Only the inevitable decline.

More recently, Indonesia helped burn PEACE GC and formed PHOENIX. They have also been trying to get Australia back under their belt by PTO, with yet more accusations of multis and botnets. Such is the most controversial Empire in eRepublik.
