Sweden started off like many other eNations. It had a small amount of people initially. That would all change when Flashback started a thread about eRepublik. Flashback is an underground website in Sweden which allows many questionable topics such as how to kill yourself, drug guides, and the "science behind racism." Ironically, it was the eRepublik thread that was closed instead of the others, but not before recruiting a massive amount of people that catapulted Sweden into the 1st spot on the population list. At their peak, they were gaining 500 new players each month.



In the earliest version of eRepublik there was no war module. People were losing interest, they didn't see a point playing a game where close to nothing happened. But for some, the rumors of a war module kept them.

Then February came and the rumors were confirmed, the war module would be released in March. Suddenly the countries of Europe (You have to remember, this was even before the United States had the #1 population) started fearing the bloodthirsty Swedes who had their plans set on world domination. In response to the threat of Sweden, the Northern Alliance was formed. The leader of the alliance was the United Kingdom, and Norway and Finland also joined. Denmark wanted to join NA but was not allowed because:

“ We would join Northern Alliance if it wasn't for them thinking of us as a lia-*******-bility. ”

The Northern Alliance was the most fail alliance ever, as it didn't even last until the war module and only existed for 14 days. Their main goal to fight Sweden, would never happen.

Once the war module came, the world was shocked that Sweden didn't kick it off with an invasion of Denmark. Their leadership decided to wait it out, and examine how it worked. This proved to be wise. Instead the first "war" was the eUK and the Netherlands merging. The first actual war was the Can-Am War (Canadian-American War). The Americans got off to an excellent start, but stalled as a massive amount of international aid came to Canada, many from Sweden. The war was filled with bugs and glitches, and Canada managed to turn it around and it ended with an NAP.

On April 21th, on the same day as the Norway-Finland War ended (in which Norway conquered Finland), Sweden invaded Denmark and started "the Öresund's War" because the Danish President Grev Per insulted Sweden (one particularly catchy insult was calling swedes "homoswedes" which according to Grev Per is a kind of ape).

The actual war lasted 2 days, and ended with Sweden rolling over Denmark despite their MPPs with Bulgaria and South Africa. It's worth mentioning that Sweden had a pacific named josefstark, , he argued valiantly but as history has shown; the people who want war tend to be louder than the ones against.



Sweden had become the world's most effective killing machine and was now allied with Norway. The Germans sought help in anti-Sweden Asia (an old sand vs snow thing) and Indonesia offered them an MPP. This made Sweden nervous and frustrated since it would bottle them up from the rest of Europe so they decided to invade Germany as soon as possible, the same day the MPP between Indonesia and Germany became in effect Swedish forces stormed Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg. They had invaded Germany only 9 days after Denmark.

As Sweden invaded Germany, Norway attacked Russia. This was an agreement between the two allies and it proved successful. While Indonesia was busy helping on the Russian front, Sweden conquered region after region in Germany.

The war was not as quick as planned and after 19 days of battles Sweden and Norway emerged victorious (although the Norway-Russia war didn't take near as long as the war for Germany.) But not all German regions were annexed as the Swedish government and Germany made a deal which stated that Germany would be allowed to keep a part of their land, this at the cost of a few regions 500 GOLD were given to Sweden. There would also be a MPP and a NAP between the 2 countries. Germany however, did not follow these requests and it resulted in the Second Swedish-German.

Sweden let Germany keep some regions, but for the Germans it crippled their national pride and they were accused of being Sweden's puppet, which they were.

The proud Germans couldn't take this kind of treatment and decided that invading Poland would be a good idea. So they did and against terrible odds they managed to conquer Poland, a huge factor was the help the Germans received from Pakistan, probably from their age old hate of Sweden. (They had epic Media Wars)

When the Swedish government saw this they thought it was time to collect on a debt overdue, as it seems the Germans had not signed of some of their MPPs yet and therefore had broken the peace treaty signed a mere month before.

Sweden used this to her advantage and asked the Admin to give them all German regions back to Sweden. But the admins didn't do anything, so the Swedes decided to take matters into their own hands and invaded Germany once again. There were two official reasons for doing so; taking back their legally rightful German regions and reclaiming Poland to the Polish. (Note: this tactic of "freeing" other nations became so large, both major alliances today claim to be doing it.)



Sweden invaded Germany which now consisted of Poland and three original German provinces. This war was pretty long, but ended with a Swedish Victory. This was the peak of the Swedish Empire, as they occupied Denmark, Germany, and Poland.

Now, Sweden let Poland become free and they became best buddies.

Fast forward to the ATLANTIS era. Sweden was a member, but Germany became a passive member. (rea😛 they were trying to get close to ATLANTIS) However Sweden was becoming bored, and many of it's players were leaving. They hadn't done anything for awhile. So, their president Kalle Holm, attacked Germany. Poland would later attack as well. This would divide ATLANTIS, with the English speaking countries condemning the attack on moral grounds. (UK, Scrabman kept the USA neutral, but many people moved to help Germany.) Swedens traditional allies, Romania and Spain and the like supported it.



The war raged on with many German defeats and Swedish tactical retreats and re-attacks until the June presidential elections, which saw the most beautifully executed PTO in eRepublik history. Shoot was a sleeping Swedish agent, who patiently worked his way into German politics, until he was elected to the Presidency with only a little Swedish and Polish voting help, but mainly by German ones - just to reveal after the elections that he was a Swedish agent. Germany couldn't impeach him fast enough, and he retreated every German region, effectively killing it.

This move by Sweden effectively killed ATLANTIS from the inside. It led to EDEN and Fortis being formed, and to the UKs betrayal. This move effectively led to modern history, WWIII et al.

Today Sweden occupies Denmark and a high grain region of Germany.
