The Chile-Argentina Conflict

Day 1,533, 12:01 Published in USA Peru by Hazelrah

Chile and Argentina have a rich eHistory with most RL Chileans beginning their eRep lives in eArgentina. Since Chile was founded in January ‘09 they have been great allies with Argentina, despite the countries having RL tension. This alliance continued strong until just a few months ago. The tension is relevant to us here in the eUSA due to our MPP with both countries.

As ambassador to eChile I have been in conversation with both sides and to the best of my ability have constructed a summary of the conflict:

Peru

1. Chile conquered Peru
2. Argentina later asked to conquer Peruvuian region Southern Low Amazon (SLA) for 3 days in order to help Colombia who was being invaded by Mexico and Venezuela
3. Chile refused to temporarily give up their bonus despite being offered gold and a guarantee that the region would be returned
4. Even after the Columbia conflict ended, Argentina still couldn’t participate in war without controlling SLA. They were bored. So they RW’d SLA and conquered it to get a war border. They claim they always had the intention of returning it to Chile, however.
5. Argentina-Chile tensions began to rise.
6. The following month Poland and Macedonia wanted to PTO Peru, which was still mostly owned by Chile. They RW’d all the Peruvian regions from Chile. Chile claims Argentina helped Poland/Macedonia which Argentina denies.
7. Argentina then decided to NE Peru and conquered the regions formerly belonging to Chile, claiming they were protecting the land from Poland/Macedonia.
8. Chile was quite pissed at this point and many citizens began fighting against Argentina in their battles. Chile denies that any of these attacks were ordered or supported by the government.

A few months later...

New Zealand

1. Chile claims that conquering New Zealand was always a goal of theirs. However, Argentina apparently also had the same goal. Who established the goal first is up for debate.
2. Chile attacks NZ (originally claiming the battles as war games, but later admitting they wanted Auckland for the bonus).
3. Chile allows NZ to RW the regions back as part of the war games.
4. Argentina, being the stronger country, decides to attack NZ regions for their own conquest. They claimed Chile was once again blocking them from aiding their allies and that real wars are more important than War Games. This brought back sour memories of SLA for Chile.
5. With the help of TEDEN, an agreement was made by Argentina to allow Chile to end war games and attempt to wipe NZ.
6. Chile managed to wipe NZ with the help of Australia, but Australia allowed NZ to RW their regions back, frustrating Argentina.

I contacted the CP of NZ for his view on the recent conflict and here is his response:

"The end of January we had a TW with Chile. They pushed pretty hard, as ONE was falling back, so they had lots of support and we couldn't defend any of our regions, but managed to get them back via RW. Our relations with them have always been pretty good, but it was the hardest TW I've ever seen.

In February, Silent Night was elected CP of eArgentina. He vowed to wipe us for the embarrassment we gave them last year when they tried to wipe us and failed. We were down to one region and stopped them cold and managed to RW the rest of our regions. They tried to attack us this year, but I knew their NE was coming and since we already had a TW with Chile I had them attack Auckland and take it to block the Argentina NE.

eChile spend millions of dmg defending Auckland from Argentina and their issues really started to come to the surface. Silent Night went to Eden and Terra HQ's crying because they couldn't wipe us, so TEDEN demanded that Chile wipe us. To counter this, I asked Australia to attack us and help Chile wipe us. We managed to RW our regions back from Australia, but if Arg wiped us, it would be a different story.

eChile and eAustralia wiped us to satisfy Argentina's demands, but that wasn't enough for Arg because we are back on the map. Since then Argentina has tried numerous times to NE us and take all of our regions, but they keep failing. If you look back in the past Argentina has always been quick to screw over eChile in RW's and give regions back to their original countries so they can have them for themselves. It has always been that way and eChile is sick of it.

Since eChile blocked their NE a couple of times on us, they have decided that eChile is their new enemy and it looks like it will come to blows very soon. Argentina has time and again screwed them over, and now they want to act like the victim."

I think this provides a somewhat clear picture of where the conflict currently stands and perhaps what compromises will need to be made in order to maintain unity within the alliance.
