The Campaign Rolls On: PTOs and Military

"Ends
Some people would rob their mother for the ends
Rat snitch on one another for the ends
Sometimes kids get murdered for the ends
So before we go any further I want my ends"
From the Everlast song, "Ends"

Political Takeovers

I heard this song on the 26th of April and I immediately thought of the Political Takeovers that had just been attempted. Everyone wants their piece of the pie, and they are willing to do anything for it sometimes.

Political Takeovers are a touchy subject if you've ever been in a country that's had it happen to you and in America they are basically taboo. We don't want to play the role of "Imperialist" and we don't want to rob a brand new country of its assets. When it comes to protecting countries a lot of eUS citizens don't want to throw their vote away, but they don't realize that their vote could save 1000s of GOLD from falling into enemy combatant hands. I am proud to say that my running mate, Jewitt was success at having a proposal to start the eUS Air Force, an Anti-PTO force, passed through congress, and I was the author of the bill that got them funding. Right now I'm in the process of starting it up and in the time being I'm the General of this new military branch. More information will be bombarding the news pages, so I'll keep this to my campaign ideas.

The United States has, since at least January, participated, covertly, in protecting areas that are of interested to the country from being PTO'd. These include but are not limited to South Africa, Canada, Malaysia, Lithuania, and most recently Spain. I believe the United States should continue this effort through the Air Force. Every citizen who isn't politically tied down should consider volunteering to join this brigade of noble fighters. If elected I will make sure this becomes a viable branch and has the funding and support that our other branches get. This may seem like a 2 day a month job for the leaders, but they need to monitor the international scene daily and work with our Intelligence Agency on chatter they hear. It's a pretty demanding job once it gets into rolling and our voters and the leaders will deserve our commendation.

Military Reform

I don't even know if this should be considered a campaign goal anymore. Commandant Harlot has done such an outstanding job getting the military reorganized that it's amazing. One of his marines, Lucius Varenus, has set up the new military forums and they are starting to shape up into something really special. These two, as well as all the other Generals and Executive Officers of our military, are doing a Yeoman's work of getting the military to be the finest running machine ever.

My idea, which appears to be what Harlot had envisioned and taken apart to doing without any of my input, was to have every military branch shape themselves after the Marines. They would have their orders placed in their own individual forums, and then the officers, who would friend all of their men under their command, would shout for their men to look in the forums for orders when they would be posted. Harlot has already instituted this without any of my input, which makes me think that great minds think a like, but then I wouldn't put myself on the level of Harlot, since he's been doing this longer than I have. 🙂

There are only two other minor problem the military has, as I see it right now.
1. The Joint Chiefs of Staff seems to have no real structure. While the structure below them is being fixed by Harlot's new plans, the leaders need to have some structure for themselves. If elected president, I will bring to the JCS some structural plans I have that will allow them to function as a unit together. Right now it appears to be an amorphous shape and while the branches are being fixed from looking that way, the Chiefs should also have this fixed. I'd be willing to help them fix that as Commander in Chief, but I won't force them to do my will when it comes to how the structure themselves. The way they do things is their discretion but the things they do would be mine as the leader of the military.

2. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Secretary of Defense (or Minster of Defense as they call it in almost every other nation in the game) are redundant positions that are unnecessary. Part of my structure plans would be how the JCS name a new Chairman. When they name their Chairman (and for as ever long Harlot is in that position) I will honor their selection by also naming that person my Secretary of Defense. They do the same job, and while the SecDef talks with other MoD and SecDefs in the game, I believe the CoJCS should have this knowledge as well. Why have 2 people do the same job? I don't know. I have discussed this with the current SecDef, Tdwester, and he understands my position. According to Scrabman's last article he is potentially being replaced by Loftedraptor, which was unannounced to Tdwester, a friend of Scrabman's who helped him run for election his first time (he lost to Uncle Sam but became president when Sam was impeached). Which leads me to my next point:

I feel this is one problem that Scrabman has had, a lack of understanding how the military functions every day. He's allegedly firing, or replacing, someone who has done a wonderful job since Leroy Combs stepped down to take over the new Airborne division (a mobile fighting group and training step between the Army and Marines). Tdwester at least deserved to know his departure was imminent rather than finding out on IRC when told, "Hey, looks like Loft is taking your spot". I would understand this move if TD had proven himself incapable of handing the job, but he's not been in place for 2 weeks. Wow. When talking with TD about my plans he completely understood and seemed to agree that my plan was what was right. He knew how politics worked in this game and I wanted to make the military very That's all I really have to say about this.

So there's my down and dirty campaign on the military and PTOs. Nothing to earth shattering, but still things that are needed to be talked about in the country.
