Today I am announcing my candidacy for President. While it may seem like it is extremely early to announce this sort of thing, I am doing this now mainly so I can get as many party endorsements early and I can campaign easier once I know I have a large backing. If I'm still scrounging for party support while trying to get my messages across I will fail in getting my message across, because Party support is key to winning elections (unfortunately).

So today I'm going to steal from Claire Littleton's style and give you a table of contents.

1. An invitation to a open Q&A session with me.

Are you a member of one of the top parties? Are you a member of the eUS forums? If so then you should go to one of these links and ask your question (unlike Scrab I won't answer about EVERYTHING, just eRep political stuff) and hopefully I'll get around to answering in that thread. Please don't expect an article with every answer though, and if I give you a copy and pasted answer it's because my original answer was perfect 😛

2. Unveiling my first plans as a PotUS candidate.

I have 8 major points in my campaign this month. While right now they seem vague but they will be explained in further detail in future articles. I thought I'd unveil them now so they can be digested by you the American public.

1. Restructured military- Fix the Army, get more mobilized troops, faster and better supply lines
2. End to petty quarrels- We all agree the eUS needs to be improved, but RL arguments don't always work. Just because you were around in Beta doesn't mean you have all the answers, but if you are new, you should listen to those who came before you, you might learn how the game works
3. Speak softly but carry a Q5 stick- Diplomacy is the cornerstone of all foreign policy, but if you cross us, you won't be around to do it again.
4. 17 to win- We need to get our country exporting massively. In order to do this we need to lower our dollar some more. 0.017 gold/USD was the height of our economic strength and I want us to be the #1 economy again
5. Don't fund more, fund smarter- Currently we have MoW and M*A*S*H. We need to have more programs that improve our activity, but not just hand items to undeserving people. If we can get more activity before level 5, we can guarantee a stronger, smarter eMerica.
6. Communication is key- Scrabman did some wonderful things with his ability to reach the public, but there are things that can be fixed. Warnings, more concise messages, and clearer objectives are key to reaching the public.
7. Fair Trade or No Trade- Allies and trade partners need to lower their tariffs, or we'll stop supporting them abroad. Those that trade fairly with us, get our support both militarily and economically.
8. Helping out the little guys- For a long time the eUS and ATLANTIS has neglected the smaller eNations of the world. I want to commit to trade pacts and MPP's with smaller nations to help build them up. We cant continue to ignore the untapped potential of small nations.

1) What motivated you to seek the presidency now?

To be quite honest with you, I was planning on my presidential run in March when Uncle Sam won his second term. Jewitt and I had just ran together against him (he was the PotUS candidate then) and I was excited to see what was going to happen in the next two months. I had thought that Sam would finish out his term and then the next month PrincessMedyPi would be PotUS. She had talked about how the election was right around her birthday and she planned on running and serving only one month, and not running for re-eelection. At the time I thought she stood a real good chance because Scrab might not run again after losing, and I wasn't sure of anyone else really considering a run. Had she won, I would run with her support in May following her term. This was the Jewitt/Kyle plan really, since I had just won SoH I would have a little more publicity. You saw what happened. Sam royally messed up, was impeached, Scrab takes over, and is quite possibly the most popular President since Obama.

So why run now? Another honest truth: It wasn't until a few hours before posting this that I had actually considered June. Originally my plan in May was to get the RightCon parties to support me, get my name known, and the in June I'd run with hopefully EVERY party's support (pipedream, but I had thought about how easily it would be to get every party's support, it's amazing when you think of the connections I've made). Then I saw the bickering, the partisanship, and the shit that was flying the past month. I wanted to escape. I had made plans with some friends (I won't reveal who, but there were people from almost every party including the USWP who were "very interested") to go to Ecuador and start up a eUS colony. I had gone as far to contact GladDos for protection from PEACE PTO. Then yesterday and today happened, and I just felt it would be better if I stayed in the eUS and tried to help it recover, rather than be selfish and run a small country with friends, taking some of the best eUS'rs with me.

2) What do you want to change/improve from Scrabman's presidency?

I don't know how to answer this without stepping on toes. Scrab's been a tremendous president, but there are faults with everyone. I honestly plan on taking a bit from the past 4 president's I've worked with and incorporating it into my presidency. I plan to be as diplomatic as Scrab was with our allies, and as diplomatic Justin was with our enemies. I plan on being as attentive as Scrab to my advisers. And I plan to bring the military knowledge that Benn and Sam had. I don't know if I'd "change" anything besides my cabinet. I'd bring my own style of leadership to the White House, and I don't know exactly how to describe it. I guess I'll be a little more diplomatic when dealing with everyone internally. I'm also more in the public eye a lot more (I'm on IRC all the time). I don't know what else to really put here... I'm sure I'll come up with more differences.

3) Obviously, military reorganization and improvement is key, as evidenced by yesterday's stunning defeat. How do you plan to accomplish this?

I'm going to give you a response to the concern that the UIP had about Military Reform:
I understand your concern when I say “military reform”, since I was once part of a reform myself. I tried to get the QMG to completely reform and start up a new way to distribute in the Army and it was completely shot down by those in charge then.

I’m not advocating we eliminate anything we’re doing, I’d actually like to expand our reach on a global stage. I’d like to have a more mobile, agile, sleek, fast acting military. I love the Marines, and I worked directly with them until Sukoidha and Lucky took over being the Marine QMG. I’d like to get the NG and Army set up with the same system I got started with the Marines. It’s proven to work and it gets things done REALLY fast.

I can give you more of an idea later when I actually know what all I’d like to do, right now it’s just an idea floating around in my head and I’ve yet to actually put any pen to paper about it. When I do that that’s when it’s official

4) A lot of current Congressmen seem to lack a basic understanding of economics. How do you suggest we resolve this?

Send them to Jewitt. That's how I got my very VERY VERY basic knowledge of economic events. I still don't know that much, but I know enough to get by. He'll be my economic guru, so if there's any economic question I'm sending you to him.

5) Partisan hatred and mudslinging is at a high point. How do you propose to minimize these hostile undercurrents?

Heh, I'll point to myself as an example.

If you ask some of the old timers in the party who haven't paid attention since December, they might know me as the anti-USWP guy. I used my shouts daily to insult the USWP, and to bring up my party, The Nationalist Party. It was all ignorance, as I started to work with more and more commies I realized they weren't all bad.

I believe most of the mudslinging is ignorance from new players who don't know that there are actually some very valuable members of every party. Now I know the Feds and the USWP or the CvP and the AAP or the Greens and the LiBs or the Insert name and the Insert name are ever going to sit down and sing kum-by-yah, but I believe that if we can all rally around one point, that we all want the eUS to be the greatest country in the eWorld, we're going to have to stop internal fighting and start fighting to better ourselves. (PS: this is the same speech I gave my cross country team when I was team captain the year after we had a ton of people quit due to arguing. I got the people to quit to come back and the arguing stopped and we won regionals.)

6) Why should we endorse you, in particular? Obviously, we're a large party with a lot of influence, and we could probably field a candidate of our own if we wanted to...just saying.

This is going to sound conceited and sound like I'm bashing every other member of the game, not just your party, but I'm not really that bad... I hope.

I don't believe there's anyone as independent from party as myself. I ran from every party for congress to prove that I don't have a problem with any party. I'm a member of 4 different party forums and I check none of them regularly (hehe) only the eUS forums every 5 minutes. I'm campaigning to bring together parties, and reform America. Your party has wonderful people and great candidates in it, but I question you to bring someone who can look at a member of the eUS and not see what party they are. A lot of times in congress and IRC I have to look at their eRep profile or signature to see what party they even belong to. And even then I could careless what it says. I know others may say this but I guess you'll have to believe me when I say that I mean it.

The LiBs and CvP have theirs on the eUS forums, so you can see my responses to them quite easily, and the UIP and AAP have their own. I don't know if you wish to but you can go to them and see what I'm saying there I'm going to track down the Feds.

So that's the first article. It's super long so take your time and read it section by section if you want. I'm also going to use this time to announce my VP running mate (who is my right hand man) and my left hand man, my campaign manager.
