The Airborne Champions

Day 2,263, 21:55 Published in USA USA by seeker1

Wow! This one was close. So close. Epic close. Everyone who won can claim responsibility for winning, because really, it was that close. One activity check more or less by anyone, or a few more fights, might have changed to result.

It was madness.

ALSO CARNAGE.

Well, get to it - who won!? is what you’re thinking right now. But is the contest really about winning? Is it? Or is it about bringing everybody together.

NO! OF COURSE IT’S ABOUT WINNING!

Who are we kidding? It’s about showing who’s the best, who’s the strongest, who are the most active and dedicated soldiers in Airborne. And that’s the Pitmasters.

It was a brutal, searing fight between the 82/2 Pitmasters and the Fighting Cocks of 101/1. There was a furious flapping of wings in the Airborne courtyard, which fanned the grills, bursting flumes of orange fire; a flurry of cock feathers and pepper sauce filled the air at HQ, plumes and tongs all flung afar in a haze of smoke and cluck. But in the end the coals were too hot, the barbecue too thick, for the noble birds of 101/1 to peck their way free. They were each and every one of them grilled by 82/2.

But did I mention how close it was? The Pitmasters took gold with a score of 52.78, with 101/1 trailing a beak’s length at 52.61. Compare that with last week’s scores

Here’s the breakdown.

Platoon __________ 82/2 __________ 101/1
Total Score_______ 52.78 _________ 52.61
Fighting _________ 11.58 _________ 11.36
JMO ____________ 12.20 _________ 12.00
IRC _____________ 12.20 _________ 12.5
Battle Channel ____ 11.89 _________ 11.75
Roll Call ___________ 5 ____________ 5

Read here to review the rules.

Member of the victorious 82/2 Pitmasters will receive their 5g prizes shortly.

A hearty congratulations is deserved by both of these squadrons, whose soldiers truly showed outstanding commitment, such as I’ve never seen in my years in Airborne. The vast majority of soldiers in each platoon had perfect activity check scores for this week, which is just astonishing. The leadership of PCO Doki1919 and PXO Greenday4537 brought the Pitmasters together, united to outfight the rest. And the many bright and fresh recruits of the Fighting Cocks have been wrangled into formidable fighting force by PCO NecromanMMO and PXO K9Fun661.

Lets not forget about the two individual awards! Each of these award winners will get 5 gold each!
1st award is for the Most Fights: It goes to NecromanMMO for a whopping 3823 kills over the 2 weeks of the contest! He beat the next runner up by almost 400 kills!

2nd Award is for the Most Active: This ended up being a 3-way tie between: 29HEK, Curren, and K9fun661. They all did not miss one day of IRC, JMO, and Battle Sign-ins!

Congrats everybody, and thanks for making Airborne what it is - the very best.
