Thanking Our Friends

With the defeat in Ontario, the USA lost one of it's greatest allies in Canada, yesterday. Such a loss has affected the morale of some and coupled with our losses domestically, the hope that we can survive this war has taken a few hits. But, something happened after Ontario fell yesterday. I saw a great number of Canadians, pick themselves up, and move to the USA, as well as other allied nations, so that they could continue the fight. Such resolve, even after losing their homeland, should certainly be admired.

This led me to think of all the others, in countries abroad, that have continued to fight the good fight, even in such times of adversity. So many have put in extra time each day, used their personal wealth to get in an extra fight, subscribed to a newspaper to raise money for the war effort, write an article to encourage their fellow citizens, and helped their neighbors in their time of need. The sacrifice of each of these individuals has made our victories (and future victory) possible and without them, I think it's clear that our nation would be entirely lost.

And so, without further ado, I believe it's time for us to say...

Canada: Thank You! Merci!
Romania: Multumesc!
Norway: Takk!
Spain: Gracias!
Israel: Toda! (My apologies for not being able to write in Hebrew.)
