Surrender - Where To Next?
Gnilraps
Good Night Irene (Mandatory listening)
Day 2156 of the New World
15 October, 2013
If you have not yet read it, here is the President's official statement of surrender along with a copy of the peace treaty just passed by congress.
And so it ends.
If you have not taken the time to sift through the terms of the treaty, here it is in a nutshell:
*eUSA is going to get back everything except for the east coast. We will also get Baja (a valuable Saltpeter region).
*eUSA is going to pay our former enemies 1 Million Dollars.
*Spain, Poland, and eUSA will enjoy a 3 month peace.
*If the treaty is not kept, there are appropriate consequences.
So I am wondering how eUSA feels about it?
I strongly encourage you to write a newspaper article reacting to the surrender and peace treaty. I would like nothing more than to see a slew of articles on this subject.
We here at 16 Shells are quietly pleased with the whole affair. It's no celebration. Admitting defeat is a somber occasion and our heads should dip just low enough to tip our hats to the superior force of our enemy.
But this is no time to slink off into a corner and brood either. We did not lose to an inferior opponent. We were bested by our better.
The real question in my mind is where we are going to go from here. Very soon we will have a country again. This means that when new players join the game, they will not have to start in Nebraska Poland, but in Nebraska eUSA! (Come to think of it, the word "Nebraska" sort of does sound Polish, doesn't it?) Anyway, this is a tremendous benefit to us.
The next three months absolutely must become for us a morale-building time. For these next three months we will live "in a bubble" of protection according to the treaty. So we will not have the distraction of an external enemy to kvetch about.
In other words, what President Frost and Secretary of State Artela have done is shine a very bright spotlight on INTERNAL AFFAIRS.
We do not have a rich history of success in Internal Affairs. Ever since we started throwing our poop at each other over the departure of the eUS Mil from Congressional oversight, we've become fractured in many ways. As much as we've wanted to avoid the petty conflicts of the Balkans (you remember CTRL?), we've become balkanized ourselves.
And if we end up pissing away the next 3 months wrangling over the same stupid bullsh*t as always, we will have wasted 1 Million Dollars and a huge opportunity.
We must work together beginning right now to build a unified eUSA.
But how?
Well, the first thing we need is for RGR and his @ssinine failed mamby pampby cloud of mosquitoes to GTFO. And no, this is not antithetical to the philosophy of "working together". I imagine that there are some in that crowd who would be happy to stay and assimilate/compromise into the new eUSA. But their ringleader is, sadly, irredeemably psychotic and will poison any attempt at accord we might pursue. Even I, in my pie-in-the-sky optimism cannot fathom an eUSA that includes that filth.
And so priority #1 is to do what it takes to dissect his power base and biopsy that disease. I can tell you that there is a plan to do just that and you have already begun to see some of the fruit. AFA has been largely irrelevant lately and is trending downward. Let me be the first to say, albeit somewhat prophetically,
Bye-Bye RGR. You won't be missed.
Second, and more germane to the rest of us rank and file citizens, we must be willing to carry on our public discourse with a little more decorum. I am calling for a 3 month moratorium on inter-party trolling. If you want to disagree with something someone has published, write your own article stating your points as a positive and keep your negative comments brief and to the point.
If you have ever done any Improvisational acting, you learned that the first rule of improv is to AGREE. So if I point my finger at you and say, "I have a gun," you don't say, "No you don't, that's your finger you harebrained ninny." Instead, you say, "Yes, the gun I gave you for your 9th Birthday!" Now you are working together... now you have Improv.
So I am calling on the eUSA community to learn to agree FIRST. Then begin to sort out the nuances of our disagreement with mutual respect and decorum. If you can't, shut up. Now, obviously you’re not always going to agree with everything everyone says. But the Rule of Agreement reminds you to “respect what your partner has created” and to at least start from an open-minded place. Start with a YES and see where that takes you.
Incidentally, the second rule of Improv is to not stop at "yes", but to respond with "yes, and..." You are supposed to agree and then add something of your own. If I start a scene with “I can’t believe it’s so hot in here,” and you just say, “Yeah…” we’re kind of at a standstill. But if I say, “I can’t believe it’s so hot in here,” and you say, “What did you expect? We’re in hell.” Or if I say, “I can’t believe it’s so hot in here,” and you say, “Yes, this can’t be good for the wax figures.” then we're getting somewhere. (I plagiarized this paragraph from Tina Fey)
So we need people to engage in a dialogue which is CONSTRUCTIVE, not simply an onanistic ejaculation of self-satisfying statements. (I wrote that all by myself.)
Third, I want to see those who have departed from eUSA to come home. Put aside your disdain for those who passed a tax you didn't like. Do it for 3 short months. We don't need to spend our every dime on weapons and food defending our homeland. Find a way to afford living here or else run for congress and change the damned tax yourself! But for the love of pete, come home.
And fourth, I am asking every eAmerican to stockpile. Over the next 3 months, don't feel such a strong need to spend every single energy click you've got. Very little is gained in this game by overfighting. So let's scale back our consumption for 3 months and stockpile. Because sooner or later we will have a war again. I want us to be ready.
I realize I don't have any authority to enforce any of this. I am merely suggesting it and urging you to consider climbing on board in a national effort to rebuild.
We simply cannot afford to look the same 3 months from now as we look now. Otherwise it really will jut be Good Night Irene.

Great article. Voted
Great Article!!
Really outstanding article!
filth is a good word, scum is another. Great article, hopefully we can move the ball forward during these three months.
Nice! Re-Building for eUSA!
You don't have a clue what your talking about. Just shut up and collect your 16 shells with every bullet missing!

Voted ofc!
Gnilraps You may support this treaty but I don't and here are the reasons why
1. There is a Thing called instant gratification (easy way out) it is a very dangerous thing
2. This treaty show that we are weak and that the polish can just push us around
3. There is nothing stopping the polish from Invading us again after the 3 months
4. The treaty doesn't apply to other countries of TWO other than the temporary cease fire
5. The polish still are occupying us not directly but they are acting as a "Big Brother" controlling the west coast to act as a front line in case the treaty fails
So we're better off not having a country at all?
I see this as a step in the right direction.
No but we should have tried to fight back in some way.
We did. We got our asses kicked. Now we're moving forward.
A few of your arguments are invalid,
1. If you read the original treaty by JFrost you will see the treaty took a long time to complete and agree upon, and yes this might be the easier way out but it is the only way out for regaining are regions in a short amount of time.
2. This treaty shows that we have given Poland a good fight and they recognize that and realize we will constantly be fighting and not giving up.
It also shows now strong our current Executive cabinet especially the SoS and CP are.
3. In 3 months Poland could have different priorities it is impossible to know.
4. The Treaty applies to Spain and Poland, not just Poland
5. It is actually the east coast, and the front line really won't make a difference whether it is in USA or France it will just mean a longer war.
Actually all of your points I would have to say are partly if not fully invalid and I think most Americans agree that this treaty is a beacon of light to America.
I doesn't matter how long it took to sign the treaty
and also I know that it also applies to Spain but Two consists of more than 2 countries who only have to obey the cease fire for 3 months let alone even obey it there were never any rules for what we do if they do attack us. By the way I'm happy that we signed this treaty i just wished there was another way we could have gotten our freedom.
Thank you for your respectful reply. I'd love to see you publish your thoughts.
Here's my response to you:
1 - this is hardly "instant". We've been at this for a long time. There is nothing, and I mean nothing that we can do to push back Poland. We've tried to do it with the entire force of CoT and failed. This isn't instant gratification, it is the better choice between this and continued wipe.
2 - Agreed in part. It does admit we are weaker than Poland/TWO-ACT. This is a reality. I'd rather admit it and move on. Perhaps something can be done to change this in the future. We stand a better chance at making that happen if we have a country than if we don't.
3 - True that. But it's better than them attacking us again tomorrow.
4 - Yes it does. I'll quote from it: " The United States and the forces of Poland, Spain and TWO-ACT shall not engage in any direct MPP battles "
5 - I know you meant "east coast". And that is the part of the treaty I like least. But look on the bright side, it gives us something to fight for once the 3 months are over and we think we want to try for it.
The East Coast wall also means that most of TWO would have to RW out one of our regions from Poland or NE Poland to get to the eUSA's core regions. This is an essential wall in the current state of affairs.
Otherwise, they have to plow through Russia to get to Alaska, or up through Indo to hit Hawaii.

Atleast talo has noticed how dangerous the eastern front is to America we should find a way to quickly take it back from the polish
That is pretty much the exact opposite of what he said...
But onanistic ejaculation of self-satisfying statements is all I know how to do.
....Wait.
May I watch?

Silly me forgetting that I was on DoD orders. :c
I 2nd this question.

A healthy and prosperous eUSA : HOORAY!
A great article that shines a clear light on the path ahea😛 congrats.
Agreed.
So, when those 3 months are over- war with eSerbia is on the road because of "As much as we've wanted to avoid the petty conflicts of the Balkans (you remember CTRL?), we've become balkanized ourselves."...
You have 2 choice's:
1.) Start to work on creating new alliance with eSpain and ePoland, or
2.) Eventually you will be wiped out again.
Ofc, if you stay " balkanized",
A lot can happen in three months, far more than the two possibilities you listed.
It could, but it wont. 🙂
As I sai😛 "Ofc, if you stay balkanized"
so irrelevant you can't go a day without mentioning me 😉 eh gnilly boy
utter garbage
I just feel bad and wish CPS would protect those kids. Poor things :/
We beat ourselves.
I realize we had no choice, but I worry about the consequences of this...
To quote something from the order of the stick, what happens when the neutral mage does nothing....
When Poland goes after our allies we will have to sit and watch... the Poland President in a older press release mentioned that he would be soon done playing in North America, and from it they have set there eyes on there next target.
Will we watch our friends and neighbors burn for this temporary peace.
Meh Ignore me I am a pessimistic optimist..
We don't have to sit and watch. We can fight in RWs, we can fight for our allies in their MPP battles. We do not have to just sit back and do nothing.
Okay, we must put our faith in your hands but I worry none the less but I won't voice another word of concern.
Cheers and well met.
Yes, and I thought it was "wiccan". Has it changed to "wiocan"?
I saw that too. strange.
I have a coexist bumper sticker on my car and have some wiccan friends. I've never seen it spelled that way. A Google search, however, does make it apparent that this is another accepted spelling.
so soon i might have more than no bonuses? i might actually be able to pay workers a decent wage?
but if we are not enemies with spain and poland who we attack? use our air strike and get serbia? or how about china on our other side?
if we just going to be peacefull with everyone we are only stuck produceing and no soliders to consume my products. i guess i can sell food to brazil and weps to croatia. i got no big problems with that. they pay much better than usa!
