So, Your Candidate Lost?
Tyler Jenkins
So your candidate lost today? The guy I voted for lost as well. Now you’re upset and feeling disillusioned. Well, this article is being written to remind you that we are eAmeriCANs, not eAmeriCAN’Ts.
I’ve heard a number of people saying that now, the eUS will fail. Some have even said they’ll be leaving this country. To those people, I’d ask: If you truly think our nation is worse off because of today’s results, then why wouldn’t you stick around and make it better?
First off, this game is not an individual sport. One person doesn’t dictate our failure or success. This is a team sport. Each of us contributes in a different way on a daily basis. The citizen works, thus earning our nation much needed gold and providing the tools we need to survive as a nation. The soldier follows his orders, defending this nation from hostile nations that want to see us fail. The congressperson debates, trying to find solutions to our nations economic and diplomatic issues…and so on. The point is: We each have a role to play. Some roles are more glamorous than others, but good things will come to those that work hard. More importantly, good things will come to our country, which should be our number one goal anyway.
IT'S TIME TO MOVE FORWARD!
So now I ask that each eAmerican work for the betterment of this country. It’s time to put aside our disagreements until the next Election Day.
*Join the military or a militia.
*Write an article encouraging your fellow eAmericans.
*Put together an org that can help our new citizens.
*Go troll Zoli's articles.
As it has been said “United we stand. Divided we fall”. Let’s not lose track of where we’ve been and how far we’ve come. It’s now time to rally behind our president and work even harder to ensure that we never again succumb to the way things were just a short time ago. Then and only then will we win this thing.

But he compliments me in all of them...
Zoli's last article was so true, though. Lol.
The type of unity needed and desired to run a country the size of eUSA successfully and to its ultimate benefit will never happen in this game with these players. I don't say that to be negative or to badmouth eUSA, but rather to make an observation regarding how RL perspectives effect efficacy politically in this e nation.
Additionally - the way this game is played, the president has a huge amount of potential to run a country downhill or improve it by sheer social connections, ability to inspire a following, ability to listen to wiser smarter citizens or not and his or her ability or inability to be inclusive and many other variables.
So yes, while we comrades may line up in our worker queues and continue to input our hard won taxes in the eUSA coffers, we have every right to be disillusioned if we see a shitty candidate win presidency.
What you do afterward is the issue..
Sometimes going to another e country and getting a breath of fresh air can be therapeutic.
This article is full of Wow.

Rofl. XD
no point moving to a new ecountry as the politics are global anyway, nice work TJ. USA USA
MrFisha, it could mean you don't have to deal with the same douchebags politically on a daily basis.
Which isn't to say I think our current president is a bad one nor am I moving away. I'm not moving ever again in Erepublik myself.
this article is TRUE
Nicely done. Voted.
Go eUS!
I think I'll bitch and moan for a little, but thanks!
My point wasn't to tell people not to move to another country. There are plenty of good reasons for doing so (defending an ally, helping a friendly country get it's economy going, etc.).
My point was that just because you're disillusioned or upset that "your guy" wasn't elected, it isn't a good reason to leave. Things come and go in cycles here and we all have the ability to make a difference. It's only when we learn to work together and put aside our petty differences (which isn't to say we can't have them) that we can succeed as a nation...and the success of this country is what we all should be working for.
Tyler, I've been around erep for awhile and I've seen this same sentiment since the day I joined. Of course we *should* but that isn't going to happen any day soon or possibly ever.
Agreed

Great article, Tyler!
Even in RL, a lot of people look to "the leader" to solve all of our problems, but the fact is that although "the leader" can provide direction, we all need to do a bit of leading on our own and that doesn't require a title. No matter what the results of an election are, our allies are still our allies and our adversaries are still our adversaries. No one person can ever make things the best they can be; it's a culture of responsibility that works on making things better or gives up and loses. I choose to try to make things better.
Voted x3
great article.
