Small parties and their increasing role in the eUK

Small parties are getting much bigger.When I say small parties,I don't mean every party below the top 5.I mean the parties below 7th place.These are the real small parties.But will they be small in a few months time? The answer at the moment seems to be no.I remember when I first joined the WRP. The gap between 7th place (PCP) and 8th place (WRP? I think?) Was about 40 members.Now the gap is 20.With small parties growing at this pace.It's getting harder for big parties to ignore them.Our share of the electorate is growing,and big parties need more votes for their CP candidates.In the next few months,I think support from big parties will increase.They will be offering more competitive and more congress seats,to try and win over a party and maybe get them to back their CP candidate.Even if large parties grow alongside small ones.It will be harder to ignore them.Since instead of 10 voices,a small party may have 20 or 30.
You only need to look at the proof - We've gone from 11 members at the start of the month to 27.Our membership has more than doubled in 3 weeks.
Independent Alliance has gone from nothing to 28 in 3 weeks.
Rankings In December
4 out of these 5 parties has had their members go down since December.Just compare the rankings in this picture to the rankings today.

I've always believed that the eUK would benefit with 9 or 10 political parties with around 100 to 120 members each under the current system of congress elections. 9 or 10 equal sized parties would greatly increase competition for seats in Congress as it wouldn't take much effort to find your party in or out of the top 5. Therefore what your members of Congress achieve or not achieve during their term/s could mean your party could find themselves outside the top 5. Less complacency and more accountability.
UKRP must be a small party because we're flying up ^_~

Great article as usual F&P, interesting to see how the entire political scene has grown in the last year as more people get involved...personally i always imagined we would take a while to reach 25 members at I.A so now we are ahead of schedule we can take a step back from recruiting and finalising the finishing touches. How are things at WRP?
They are going swimmingly! I will be asking about our views on certain issues,I've also started to ask if anyone else is interested in running against me.I want to encourage friendly opposition.
Each Congress seat costs around 15 votes.
I think there has been a shift with more vocal, and forceful, smaller parties pushing into the political spectrum demanding their voice to be heard, and the bog parties have been forced to respond.

what about those who arent in partys and have just joined the game?
They are fair game.We give supplies to new members,But it's made especially clear that they receive these supplies whether they joined or not.Which is actually something the GBDP did aswell.

I don't want to detract from the article, but to clarify
WRP does not message any player from any party. There was a mistake with which i messaged BlobBody who was already a member of a party. However, it was his first day in eRepublik and i didn't notice he had joined GBD.
I've since spoken to Cheetah, who's was very understanding and if anything i felt the result was a better understanding between the two parties as we worked together.
If you have any hard feeling about it, i kind of understand but it's disappointing you feel the need to post screenshots and stuff, because i openly say that is what i do and i made the mistake in Blobs place
And because Blob was sharp enough to catch it, we gained absolutely nothing from it apart from the knowledge that i need to be careful.
Dear WRP, this is a short apology message from me about the message above. i have had a bad day and felt like having a rant, this particular incident has annoyed me and i felt i could rant about it. i apologise and hope(cant promise) it wont happen again

I think the competition at the top has pushed top 5 parties into making concessions to smaller parties that they wouldn't have before, in order to beat what some see as the "other side". NE gives a seat to the WRP, allowing the WRP to do something in congress, in return they are more likely to get WRP voters in, say, the presidential election, or maybe backing them in voting for a tax change.
Before, being out of the top 5 meant your party suffocated from lack of congressmen (unless you had a lot of money to recruit with), and now that is no longer the case we are seeing a wider array of parties.
I think your downfall was Talon's arrogance about his double glazing. His self posturing over his new windows whipped up a sh*t storm that lead to a mob mentality with the sole purpose of bricking his windows...until that mission is achieved then TUP will no longer be deemed a credible party of the people with single glazed windows.
