The Softer Side of Bribery

Day 1,920, 15:15 by Alexander Solari

Done with more subtlety and politeness than either 1V or NE. Nevertheless, depressingly light on substance and full of enticements.

all parties bribe, its just the currency that differs...

*Ahem* Not all parties...I had one player ask me what we would offer him to join and I replied nothing and I would be willing to send him links to parties that do offer 'enticements'

It's assumptions like that Wayne that will get your windows bricked in.

WayneKerr
WayneKerr Day 1,921, 03:23

All parties are offering something, all parties are trying to sell an idea. Otherwise why are you bothering telling us about your party, if its not an effort to entice people to join you? Some bribe with ideals, some with contacts, others bribe with food and weps... All parties bribe, its just the currency that differs.

Dr Hugh Jardon

There is no response to that...and you are running for CP when?

NEVAR

Yes but there is a difference between selling an idea t someone and bribing someone to accept that idea whether they agree with that or not.

See that object moving up and down? That's a house brick in my hand yearning to kiss your window

WayneKerr Day 1,921, 03:54

90% of people here don't care about ideas. They just want free stuff. They should be smart, take the stuff and take there vote where they want. That's what I would do, if I had my time again. Buying loyalty only gets you a certain amount of loyalty. Some of us realised a while back in UKPP that buying votes and offering goods to join is pissing in the wind and a massive waste of resources, better spent helping those that are already a member of the party. Some people aren't as quick to catch on though.

The problem is that once one party does it then the ones that can afford it will follow.

They may dress it up as supplies to an "Official" MU but all the same a bribe is a bribe is a bribe ...

i cant see the bribe in that, just a friendly message asking if they wanted some help with understanding the game. i do it all the time, i just dont offer supplies cause im too poor

I wonder how long it will take for parties to blacklist me from any contact. Fortunately, people have come forward to volunteer their communications. Real patriots, if you ask me. If you're also interested in keeping the spotlight on this kind of activity, let me know when it happens. I'll ensure you remain unnamed.

welcome to my club... I never get sent recruitment messages...

Personally, I dont like bribery, but its hard to avoid once you get into politics.
My personal trick is to offer newer players goods and gear without mentioning the party, and hoping that some of them think "Oh, this guys nice, lets add him as a friend"(One page load later) "There we go, A party? Well, any party with this guy in is a party worth being in"
O' course, that would never happen, but a man can dream, right?

I'd like to defend the message I have sent, as I personally think anyone that voted for it has a clear mental deficiency. This message wasn’t bribery by any means and anyone with a dictionary would know that.

Yes I advertised the party I’m part of, but at no point did I say ‘If you join my party you will get food, weapons, pounds, gold, etc’. Instead I offer my assistance, experience and aid (plus from other members of my party) for new members to the game. I do mention that new recruits to the party will be provided for first, but that’s the case when you only have so much to go around. We’re not in the top 5 with the big guns who have year’s worth of currency to spend.

I would like to comment that ALL parties do this, one way or another. I’ve been contacted by members of the top 5 countless times to join ‘the party of reform’, ‘ The new party’, ‘The best party', so the fact you wrote this article shows you have very little knowledge of politics of this eCountry.

"I'd like to defend the message I have sent, as I personally think anyone that voted for it has a clear mental deficiency"

So the people in your party that voted for it to be sent are mentally deficient? I love your sense of party loyalty

WOW! I mistyped that. 'anyone voting this article' should be the phrase. oops

"so the fact you wrote this article shows you have very little knowledge of politics of this eCountry."

It's funny, because I happen to know most things, for example that UK Reform do not send messages to other party members at this time, whereas partys like New Era, UKPP (just on member) and 1D do, so maybe you should clue up yourself?

Poaching is generally frowned upon in the UK, and if you, a small party with not much of a reserve to lose and little to gain from that message, you can start a poaching war if you want, but I wouldn't recommend it.

I would like to say one direction is innocent 1V do it leave harry Alone

Fill Werrell
Fill Werrell Day 1,921, 08:22

Jamie didn't say that membership of the GBDP is a compulsory requirement to receive aid, so it's clearly not bribery. Over the past few months we (GBDP) have sent out countless messages just like this one and this is the first time I have heard it described as bribery. What a load of rubbish this accusation is.

jny123
jny123 Day 1,921, 09:48

i can only see a friendly message that is asking you if you want some help? he mentions the party but not in anyway of bribery just saying that we are friendly people who will be willing to help.

Brigadier General Sikora
Brigadier General Sikora Day 1,922, 16:04

How is this even a bribe? Hi, need help? Take this? Oh, sorry Party Members first, then you.. .. still doesn't sound like a bribe... So silly
