Sirius and brotherhood

Day 2,303, 06:32 Published in Australia Australia by Send love to Plato

Well today I'm writing not in any official capacity but as a normal eAustralian citizen and these views are from an Individual and not part of Government policy etc etc...

Today Sirius finally put us out of our misery, for over a month we have been told our application was pending and we were almost accepted into the 'brotherhood' of Sirius. A brotherhood that we were told values unity and friendship over the amount of damage we could bring, well we fell for that line. As a Cabinet member I voted to join this brotherhood because on our doorstep were two nations that desire our regions for their bonuses - eChile and eIndonesia. Now as a game I do realise that as a small country with bonuses that our neighbours don't then it means we are prime for occupation and that is part of the game, I also see that point of view from stronger nations as well. I also know that we needed a NAP with Chile to be seen as acceptable by Sirius so we could also start sending out much needed MPP's so our citizens don't have to keep spending vast amounts each week in moving costs...which does build up when you are on the other side of the world.

So we respected the NAP that we signed with Chile, no RW's were started on our side and we looked to sign numerous MPP's so we could participate in wars and give our citizens a direction, and I have to thank Daanitha the former MoFA in Chile for being very approachable with regards to the discussions. So we then began asking for MPP's with pro-Sirius nations we held MPP's with before mainly and bit by bit we were told it was being discussed and each country said they would come back to us...one country we did also approach said they were against us in that last alliance shake up so why should they help us, oddly the same country fought against Poland in the last alliances but that's fine apparently. And a few weeks to a month on the only country to show brotherhood was our friends in South Africa and we deeply thank you for that.

So one by one each nation, bar one, would come out and say they didn't want to MPP us directly, each passing week we drifted along as a country aimless and waiting on Sirius despite Chile saying last month that they had no issues with us being part of the same side alliance wise. Sirius even published an article featuring us as possible entrants so again we waited for news...

Now though Chile see's us as a threat and an enemy and do not want us in the same alliance, so Sirius finally put us out of our misery. After weeks and weeks of messing us around we finally had a Secretary General be open and honest with us and we thank her for that, we sincerely appreciated your help and your genuine manner, and yes I even see the eChilean point of view but question why this wasn't raised by Sirius with them at the start of this debacle?

We also know that Mitte the previous SG was very ill in real life and we wish her all the best, but I personally find it strange that Sirius did not take the burden from her by appointing a new SG earlier, but again that is just my personal opinion.

So now the brotherhood has turned their back on us it leaves on option...

Asteria or a pro-Asteria alliance as our only option. Obviously we had to apply to Sirius first because of the neighbours on our doorstep and needing at least a region to keep player retention. Part of the NAP with eChile was at the cost of not being allowed to MPP three main Asteria countries which hurt us a lot with past friendships, our choice in Alliances was down to trying to keep our small community alive and nothing else.

We are a small country who needs MPP's and a direction in which to fight, this artice is not a poorly written article venting or looking for sympathy. It is what it is - a small community looking for a fair deal, for a small bit of respect from other people that play the same game but are in a better position. But mark these words, we may be small but we will fight on, we will not just fade away despite our numbers and our situation. We will not be just another small country accepting a role as a downtrodden country put on eRepublik to be a resource bonus for bigger nations, no, we aim to mark this day as a new beginning and when eAussies look back they will remember this day among the other notable days in our eHistory as the day we fought back with pride, respect and damned eAussie grit and determination. I am going to carry on trying to do the best for this great community and when all is said and done I hope we can look back from this incident from the comfort of an alliance that truly values brotherhood and respect.
