Royal Family Prize, Awards

Day 2,404, 07:28 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Mr Woldy

Hello all!

Last week, a poll was opened to decide who would win the Royal Family Prize, an award that has been created to reward individuals in the eUK for their contribution to the community. I hope that this reward encourages people to get more involved in the eUK and to begin helping with or starting social programs, and have been pleased with the turnout of votes that I have seen over the past few days.

The nominees were Emergy Maxfell, Huey George and Alan Warwickshire. After a voting period of 5 days, during which party members, presidents and MU commanders from across the eUK have been shouting and advertising the award, the votes are in.

In third place is Huey George with 18 votes.

In second place is Alan Warwickshire with 26 votes.

Meaning that this months winner is Emergy Maxfell with a whopping 31 votes..

Congratulations to all our nominees.

As the winner will receive a title of their choosing and a place in the Royal Family, as well as a 1000 GBP prize as a thanks from myself and the community. If I cannot get in touch with him, I will donate his prize to the Emergy Fund.

Well done all!

Universally Challenged

Yet again I am plugging universally challenged, offering more details as to prizes and fixtures etc.

The first piece of news is that I have decided to up the prize money to 5 gold per person in the team, as well as 100 Q7 guns to your chosen UK MU. The game shall take the format of a simple quiz which will take place on IRC in #eWoldy.

Teams will be asked to ‘buzz in’ on a question, fastest finger first. A correct answer grants 5 points, plus allows the team to answer three bonus questions, each worth one point. An incorrect answer passes the question to the other team. Each game shall be twenty minutes long, and the team with the most points after the twenty minutes wins. The categories of question shall range from the serious to the silly, from the worthwhile to the wild.

We still need teams to sign up! People have indicated interest to me, though as it stands there are only two teams, and ideally I would like 4 to get a good eliminator going.

Games will be planned at a time convenient for the two teams who will be playing, and a non IRC equivalent will be available if a handful of teams sign up who don’t use IRC, following the same format but ingame.

The sign up sheet is here.

Woldy’s Warriors

On day 1984 (weird) I opened my MU, Woldy’s Warriors (see here) and have been running the MU since to varying degrees of success. We peaked as we entered top 5 damage and have managed the MU on a platform of tutorship and fun for over a year and a half now.

Sadly, with the loss of several suppliers of the past 6 months and a period of my own activity being scaled back over last Christmas, the MU has been in a period of decline and I have been encouraging members to find other MU’s as I have struggled to manage the Warriors effectively whilst balancing degrees and working life.

I have come to realise that my efforts would be better utilised as part of a larger, new player focussed MU as part of a leadership team rather than as sole leader, and without giving much away my activity on the MU scene will be shifting to a position of assisting larger MU’s instead of running my own, slimlining the eUK new player MU scene and maximising my own efficiency in the assisting of new players in introducing them to the military module.

As such, I shall be leaving Woldy’s Warriors at the end of the week. This is something I have discussed with my remaining members and officers, some of whom will be joining me in the new MU, and some of whom have indicated they shall stay to continue to run the MU under the lead of a new commander.

I have had great fun running the Warriors, and hope that my members have enjoyed being a part of the unit also.

I have many people to thank, but in particular:
Apronchef,
Anomalous Result,
Spygon,
Cottonpicken,
Horice,
Butjam

And others have all assisted me in running and supplying this MU, and without them I would have had to close up shop long ago.

Thanks o7

Thanks for Reading.
