Reiji Mitsurugi in Kanto

Day 763, 21:19 Published in Japan Japan by Reiji Mitsurugi

「日本は戦後繁栄を享受して いる」

This month, I, Reiji Mitsurugi, will not be presenting myself as a representative of Shikoku, as I have in the last few terms. Nor will I be representing Gangwon-do, as I did before, particularly since that region is once again part of South Korea. No, this month I will be offering my services to the people of our most populous region, Kanto.

But why the change, the people may ask? In fact, my oldest and dearest friend, KITA Ikki, will not be running this term. He as has asked me to take his seat, to ensure the people are well-represented. I consider this an honor and a privilege.

The people of Kanto, then, may not be as familiar with me and what I have to offer them as a representative. I will share. First and foremost, I have served as the Speaker for the Imperial Diet of Japan since that position was created. The people can see my reports here, in the Voice of Japan, and my work, along with that of all representatives and government officials, on the national forum.

I have served in the congress since June, and represented our nation in China and Switzerland for some time as well. My presentations to both governments (in a myriad of languages, I boastfully say) can be read here in this newspaper.

My work in the government aside, I enjoy my work in philosophy, which you can read here in the Ashigaru Taishou. A recent disappointment for me has been my presentation of the Harmonious Society, a piece of philosophy that I released on the eve of America's surprise attack on Kyushu. Our media was flooded with not only articles regarding the war, but foreigners harassing us. My philosophy was buried, seeing only a modest reception.

On the issues, I can say that I am a proud member of the Imperial Sun Party (as well as its Vice President), and typically follow the party line. I believe in militarism and traditionalism, that two keys to a strong nation are a robust military and a proud culture. I believe in the Righteous Nation, being the principal author of the philosophy (you can find it here in the Ashigaru Taishou's archives). I voted in support of President Dokomo's recent ultimatum to Phoenix, and gave him my support in private counsel, when it was but an idea in the president's head.

I believe I truly am the best candidate to represent the people of Kanto, and I urge them to vote for me.
