My Article Today is Simple.
Raise the Import Tax!
Raise the Import Tax by 1%.
The markets are strong, and having a lower Import Tax helps no-one.
Not only that, it's not helping us either. it's not like we have the lowest prices anyways.
So, simply put, raise the import tax
For Now Natster out!

Raise it today, lower it tomorrow. The cycle continues... Every month. Sometimes twice a month. And ultimately in Canada with our market prices compared to the rest of the eWorld, it does nothing.
Some argue to raise the import tax to help Canadian business. But then people move to another country where goods are cheaper, and the consumer has to pay extra for products.
Some argue to lower the import tax to help Canadian consumers. But then Canadian producers can't sell their stuff for profit.
So the real question is. Do Canadian producers want to sell their products for a loss (low import tax) or not sell their products at all (high import tax)?
Or this could all be avoided by watching prices when import tax is changed and notice that there is very little change in prices, and therefore import tax doesn't really have any bearing on the marketplace or country income.
Naw keep it the same.
Raise the import taxes...the value of the goods is a developers calculation. The guys selling will have less chance to sell their stuff when the market is flooded by imported goods. We should be making some money off of foreigners...we certainly are not shy over taxing our own citizens...
What I've seen in the past, go ahead and raise it. You won't gain much.

When it comes to tax revenue sometimes a little is just a little.
When it comes to new players, then yes, then sometimes a little is a lot. If you're only making money from your wage then those 20 cents add up quickly.
They won't gain anything. Most people who buy weapons are people like myself who use them to tank or to buy Merc damage. Why would I pay 20 to 30 cents more buying them in Canada when I get free moving tickets I can use to buy them off of any other market that's considerably cheaper? Cheaper goods mean more people use our market and volume increases VAT taxes collected.
I would usually look at prices. If Canada wasn't too bad I'd buy the cheap ones. Maybe pay a little extra if it were someone I know. Yeah, I bought most of mine from our enemies actually. People now will tell me I was supporting our enemies econ. Actually I was intentionally hurting their lower divisions by wiping out n00bs supply of cheap weapons and food. Sometimes I didn't even keep the lower Q food (I preferred Q5 for my use), I would donate low Q stuff to AS or MUs that needed help.
DMV3, you are not a patriotic eCanadian...If you wanted eCanadians to succeed you would (AS CP) find a way to support eCanadians and not the cheapest producer of goods.
Have you ever thought to fix our supply problems by lowering the work tax so that our eCanadian weapons makers can make affordable weapons? Or maybe create some war supplies slave pits, those pits could be turned into nearly free companies that would support the war!
OLloyd, you're either a troll or you clearly have no idea how the game and its economy work so I'm not going to bother responding to you any further. Your first instinct was to claim I'm not patriotic when let's face I have done more for Canada than you could probably ever claim to do, so you have proven you're not worth a response.
