The End to the War in the UK

Earlier today, I and other allied nations were offered a peace deal with the UK. The United States, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Spain, and Poland have accepted. The conclusion of this war has been determined to be a draw. Although the ending of this war will be unsatisfying to some, I personally feel that this is the best approach for all sides to take. We have more than enough gold to continue the siege of the United Kingdom, but ultimately the cost is not worth the benefit. There is no strategic benefit in continuing this war.

I have consulted with the Joint Chiefs of Staff and other military advisers and they agree with this decision. It is a little known fact is that the Joint Chiefs of Staff disagreed with the invasion of the United Kingdom in the first place, but their advice was disregarded. Why their advice was disregarded, I do not know. Their opinion is invaluable in times of war and without it America would inevitably find itself in dire straights. War is their business and their advice will be heeded in this administration unlike others.

The siege of London was an attempt to win this war in one fell swoop, rather than prolonging this conflict in a costly war of attrition. The initiation of this war in the UK cost us our colonies in China that were critical to its defense and ultimately coupled with factors both past and present led to the fall of Liaoning to Serbia. I am not mortgaging the eUSA's future one battle and I am not sacrificing our security and the security of our allies for my own ego. The MPP's against us will be closed and both the eUSA and eUK will go their separate ways.

To the people of the United States I want to say this. Your performance was as usual masterful. You laid down and incredible amount of damage against an incredible amount of MPP's and what I feel was a stacked deck against you. Ultimately there were factors that were beyond both your and my control that led to the loss in London and I and other allied nations have taken steps to remedy those factors today. To our allies who were helpful and willing to fight for us, I would like to personally thank you and I will always remember that.

The remaining days of my term will now be devoted to accomplishing the things I promised. We have already reformed the education program. We have begun working on improving cooperation with militias. I will introduce my strength training program before Congress. Max McFarland has already begun working on his military self sufficiency program. We will secure a deal for Karnataka that is fair for the Indians and the United States. I will work on Romanian relations and the process to make EDEN a more effective alliance has already begun.
