Cause For Celebration
The American Military Party went 3-for-3 last night, with all our candidates winning their respective Congressional races. I personally supported these candidates (omfg, and how!), plus the triumphant return of former President Scrabman to the American political scene, so I'm particularly pleased with our efforts. I'm especially grateful for the response and support of those who chose to place these candidates in office, I'm sure we all have high expectations of them all to lead by example in the 34th Congress.

Congratulations to everyone
:: who ran for Congress-- win or lose, you stepped up to the plate to serve our country.
:: to the winners-- we're counting on you to serve your full terms with pride and dignity.
:: to the Blockers-- also, for stepping up to the plate to protect our country from enemy PTO'ers
:: to the FEC and #ATO folks and the Party Presidents and Election Organizers-- good job.
:: to the Voters, the American People-- YOU FRIGGIN' ROCK!!
Let's not have this go unsaid.. there were a few slip-ups this election.
We had three suspected PTO'ers on the ballot-- two were stopped, the third got through. We know what mistakes led to these conditions existing, we know what had to be done to fix it once it had happened, we know where the failure point was and what did not happen to stop it there.
Let's all do friggin' better next time, eh?! We know this one rogue Congressman can be made powerless in the off-game Forums and anything he Proposes in-game can be shot down, but he's still gonna grant some 20-odd citizenships to enemies. This cannot happen again, we must all do better next month.

The night of and morning after every election in the past three months, we hear the same tired line of crap from the same cast of characters. They use the same lame blame spin that I, George Armstrong Custer, am personally responsible for this or that candidate's loss, which resulted in the election of an enemy PTO'er, because I campaigned hard and didn't instruct the vast army of voters at my command to go vote somewhere else. This week brought the absurd variation of that theme, that my Campaign Advertising was the cause of our loss at Liaoning, because all that gold should have gone to "the tank fund" which would have turned the tide in that battle.
:1: I don't stop campaigning till its over. I ask and cajole voters like any other candidate or Campaign Manager, I get into #ato like a lot of active patriots and see what's needed where then ask my friends to follow that request, but I do not command any group of anyone to do a goddam thing. Same accusation every election, same answer every time.
:2: My Ad Budget is mostly not my own money or Party money. I have contributors who expect to see their money used exactly as intended, and I have to be responsible and accountable with every piece-of-eight entrusted to me. This month they saw my lineup and dropped a bundle on me, to assure Ad saturation, so that's what they got. Note to investors: 4-for-4 plus 8 out of 10
Further, wtf are you people thinking?!
The military branches and the government did not go broke on this battle, nowhere near.. the funding was exactly where it was supposed to be. I, personally, live on daily wages and can't "tank" myself much less fund someone else.
China's decision to attack exactly then was about an anticipated change in the war module, it was a last-chance effort before the new rules take effect. Had that battle not taken place then, :a: I would not have had in my possession the bundle of other people's money I had for election Ads, and
😛: we would have had potentially 200 more fighters on the battlefield, those tied up in the Election, and that might have turned the tide.
In closing, it's none of your business how me or any player manages their game..
and it's both dirty politics and basic bullying to slander a player with these baseless accusations.
We know it's human nature to take a second, suspicious look at anyone who is accused of anything. In this game Patriotism holds the same high place as Rape in the real world, so your depicting a player as unpatriotic does a lot to damage their credibility whether or not it's true. Then the classic followup of "oooh, sounds butthurt" and "wahhhhmbulance" remarks if the person defends themselves. And the Party-specific instruction to relentlessly attack anyone who attacks one of you, so the accused dares not go on the offensive.
It's bullshit and you know it. And, I dare say, the American People are catching on, too.
I made a deal
Actually... if you wanna get technical about it.. a deal is comprised of a few components-- the proposal, the agreement, all conditions being met, then the payoff.
I said Emerick was a chicken for moving from FER to Qinghai, he said it was just to fill a slot for his Party. I said if this is true... that if he puts on a Blocker avatar, makes a public announcement that he's a Blocker not a real candidate, then gets zero or very few votes in Qinghai, then I'd believe he was not a chicken and had moved due to Election Coordination needs... and I would "eat my hat" in the form of writing a nice recruitment article for his Party and their Militia.
Well, I didn't see no Blocker avatar. I didn't see no public announcement. But at the end of the day, Emerick did control the votes of loyal followers to finish the race in Qinghai with 2 votes.
Because the spirit of the deal was fulfilled, if not the details, I will be writing a properly righteous article to promote Emerick's Party and their Militia.
But I won't be ordered to snap to and get it done on any timetable or schedule other than my own, such pressure will certainly affect my inspiration and the outcome of my efforts.
Emerick, please catch me in IRC sometime so we can do a little background interview for the piece.
Custer's Mantra
What kind of game do you play, what kind of players do you like to align yourself with?
What kind of leaders do you want, what kind of leadership do you expect of them?
What kind of country do you want to "live" in and play for?

Congrats to the American Military Party for getting its candidates into Congress!
I wish I got endorsements. ;_;
I used to be an Army officer during WWIII, you know.
Now that I think of it, I think you might have been too. But I definitely remember you being the QMG.
Oh the memories. ;____________;
Thank you for the support Custer!
congrats on your victories

You know where to find me
Congrats to everybody that won!
For the Love of Beer!
you were my Fifth Beatle, Krauser... I'm really glad you won!
Thank you Custer.
Best to be the fifth Beatle then no Beatle lol
Robert Loggia, if you were still in the military you would have gotten an AMP endorsement. As party president I felt it kind of excessive to issue my party's endorsements and then my own personal endorsements back-to-back since the list was really the same +/- a couple people... so I opted out from doing a personal one... but yeah if I did you'd be on it 😉
Custer, enjoy your retirement party: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/happy-retirement-from-politics-custer--1525166/1/20
And... know that I am handling the AMP/ADTP merger quite well 😉
Thanks for the support, GAC, and congrats to everyone else who won! 🙂
