Welcome to part ⅗ of the Vote Woldy and be Awesome series, where I am going to explain my domestic and economic policies for the up and coming month, should you elect me on the 5th of March. Note ~ Cabinet Applications and a Second Poll at are the foot of this article.

When it comes to being President, I am always concerned with what the public wants. After all, I want everyone to have fun - that’s what eRepublik is about and that’s what I’m about.

So, to try and figure out what you want to happen on the domestic side of life, I sent around 400 people this poll: http://tinyurl.com/MrWoldy (it’s not too late to fill it in). I’m happy to boast being one of the few candidates who considers your views. These polls are always helpful, so thanks to everyone who filled one in.

After meticulously gathering and analysing the results, I have managed to produce some pretty cool graphs, and gotten a good idea of what you want to happen on the home front.

What startled me about the results was how seemingly poor education seems to be. When we asked, ‘Was the information helpful’ you sai😛

...No. other statistics were brought to light, for example, over half of the people asked do not know how to join a Government Ministry. Furthermore, only One Seventh of the people polled claimed to be savvy with the occurrences in the new World.

This worried me, as someone who has previously worked in retention. Especially as they all had one thing in common - everyone wanted to be a congressmen, president, or soldier. But hardly any knew how.



Now that the gruesome part is over, here’s how I plan to tackle these educational hiccups.

Firstly, the very structure of our domestic ministries needs altering. The Ministry of Home Affairs shall again rise to a paramount position, and it shall operate a single, flexible workforce. The reasoning for this is simple, with limited staff, but high demand we can’t afford to cut up our numbers and have several departments perform poorly, when we can have a single workforce and focus on specific tasks and do those tasks well.

The MoHA will be put through it’s paces, PM’ing one day, preparing a weeks worth of articles the next, the very way the ministry operates will be fundamentally altered to bring it up to speed with not only it’s changing workload but it’s changing workforce.

But what will it be doing?

Education can now only be delivered in bitesize chunks, but the thread-like inbox allows people to follow conversations better. Every member of the MoHA will be expected to take a mentoring approach to education. Everyone who they PM they should add as a friend and act as a one-stop advice bureau for new citizens and their questions. Our national citizen list will be divided up amongst all members of the MoHA -and myself- and each will take on the responsibility of caring for whomever is in their list. As we have tools that retrieve ‘new’ citizens, the lists can be regularly updated to keep track of all our new citizens.

Messages will be dispatched at least twice a week (The past month, over 61% of people polled received no more than 2 messages) with important snippets of information, news, and newspapers that will help our population keep up to speed with the happening of the eUK.

When the MoHA isn’t messaging, it will be planning our entertainment events, and our media presence. Domestic Orders will be making a return to help keep our population out of the dark, and give them a small sense of direction. The NNA and Gifting shall continue as usual, and gifting, currently operated by the Unity Food Program will be more heavily advertised, as with all media and entertainment through a network of in-game articles and messages.

Entertainment is something that is pretty important, it keeps us all entertained, and it lets us have fun. Under me, entertainment shall receive a kick, the eUK National Calender shall be picked up, completed, and monarch weeks and other significant days will be picked up on and used as a reason to have a laugh. A regular laugh, with cash prizes.

Media and information is also important, so articles will also be planned and written in advance and published periodically throughout the week, giving us time to respond to important news or events in the media as of when they occur. The Wiki is often a real pain to keep on top of, in order to launch a new up-to-date eUK tutorial a competition with a large gold incentive will be held and a reward given to whoever creates the best wiki-tutorial. The MoHA will continue to process wiki-requests and update important pages outside of the tutoring sector.

Information is a two way street however, so as well as giving you, the public more information, I also want to hear from you. Many of you have already filled in my proto-census, and I feel this si something that we could implement on an official government level, at least monthly, to find out what we can do to improve on the domestic front. So, we will implement the eUK Census as a part of the MoHA’s tasks.

The Ministry of Recruitment shall continue to exist as it’s own entity, and will focus on off site recruitment techniques. This particular ministry needs a enthusiastic non-work shy person to head it if it is to be effective, so I will closely be monitoring activity and performance in both of my ministries and shan’t shy away from kicking some botty and chopping some heads should things not meet my expectations. We will be looking into small fees for wiki-ing and a possible re-introduction of the eUK lottery, to move the MoHA towards self-sustainability.

And now, Economics

A few recent changes by the admins have caused a number of problems with currency worldwide. First, the admins gave us as GM’s the ability to work for ourselves - this has caused overproduction and following the rules of supply & demand this has caused prices to drop.

To try and tackle this, the admins created a script that would limit the impact of overproduction, which basically brought off all products on the market which dropped below a certain price. As the GM’s were earning profits without anyone actually buying the goods, currency was being created out of thin air. The GM’s then dumped their excess currency in an attempt to sell it quickly, which has caused the value of currency worldwide to tumble.

In other words, there’s a bit too much liquidity. To combat this, we can attempt to take as much currency out of circulation as possible. This means selling tax income, but not all of it. We should aim to sell enough to raise the gold we need for MPPs. We will also try store awayGBP we get from taxes, and as we would be taking more GBP off the monetary market it will be easier to stabilise a GBP value.

Another economic change that may happen during the following month is the removal of the ability of GM’s company accounts to use the Monetary Market. Taxes would have to come down very quickly after these changes happen, otherwise companies will lose massive chunks of money each time they remove money. Should this happen we will quickly evaluate a reduction in taxes in accordance with a spending review to level them off at a rate that is fair to General Managers and leaves the country with a good income.
