Poland, Spain, and Phoenix

Day 866, 19:01 Published in USA USA by Bradley Reala
America,

There is a time for panic, and a time for stepping back and taking stock of what has occurred. The time for panic is now over, and we need to step back and take a breath now. Max McFarland's article publicized something that, for a while now, people have understood may be a reality. Yeah, in all honesty our enemies might team up with some former allies and attack us. That said, we still have some pretty powerful defenses left in our arsenal.

Our Allies

A lot of Poles laugh when we bring this up, but what they don't want you to know is that our allies are not nearly as few and far between as they would like. We have friends through out EDEN, still, and outside of EDEN, and we can count on them to defend us, as they can us to defend them.

Diplomacy

I've worked as Secretary of State for months now, building relationships with other countries and other people outside of the eUSA. Diplomacy is a misnomer in many cases. It's not about who's willing to give up the most to protect the status quo, it's more about who's willing to apply the most pressure in order to cause the enemy to snap. We have diplomatic pressure, because of our friends and because of people sympathetic to us around the world, and we can use that pressure to push the nerves of Poland and cause them to sit back and rethink their warmongering.

History

"We will bury you."

Interesting that a Russian's words might ring through in a time like this. History shows that America loves an underdog. We LOVE to be the guys who are fighting for our lives against insurmountable odds. The eUSA has been invaded once. When that happened we boomed and became a great power, able to defend herself against our enemies. American simply cannot be occupied, and to try will only spark a major boom. We have one of the most coordinated and powerful militaries in the entire game, not only would taking and holding America be RW hell, but they would also have to deal with some of the best strategic minds in the entire new world. Simply put, attacking us would be folly, not because it would strengthen Phoenix considerably (though in the short term, it very well might), but because it would strengthen us considerably, and we would remember Poland's actions.

In summary

The eUSA has a lot going for it, whether it's friends in interesting places, or an incredible military, we have the power to defend ourselves both diplomatically and militarily. We must always prepare for the worst, and as a Presidential candidate, I most certainly will begin preparing for a possible invasion, but we must also hope for the best, and as President I will do everything in my power to avert a possible invasion. One last thing, America, please remember that the people quoted by Max do not speak for all of their people. Reach out to those Spanish and Polish players, and remember that even if their government becomes our enemy, their people do not. We have a long history with Spain, and it would be wise of us on BOTH sides to remember that.
