Patience Paid Off

EDEN, A name that was well known and strongly fought over when I first joined nearly ten months ago. Referendums were held, debates took place, votes were taken, however we never really took that final leap to join. Now finally with the UK and the rest of Phoenix knocking at our doorstep, we have finally made that leap of faith. For a long time, Ireland was known for its neutrality. IDF deployments were generally only to defend other nation’s sovereignty, and we managed to be friends with all of our neighbors, even though they may not have been friends with each other. With the world at war, picking a side seems vital to surviving. Finally, we in our little country realize this.
A short while ago, we voted for and were accepted with “Allied Forces Membership” in EDEN. This seems to be a test-run of sorts before we are accepted with Full membership. This 1-3 month period gives us opportunity to get to know the EDEN community as well as the EDEN community to get to know us. On that note I urge you, the eIrish populace to take this chance and fully utilize it. Send a message to an EDEN official, hop on the IRC chat at #EDEN.Public (Rizon), or maybe even get to know those countries that are now our allies.
Caution: Fun Ahead
A cry heard universally through Ireland is the need for activity. To all of you, here is our chance! Upon talking to Lonestar, the public relations organizer, he told me that one of EDEN’s new focuses will be to work more under the surface ensuring that each citizen’s experience will be as fun as it can be. Joining EDEN for us is not necessarily all about getting those fights in, or fighting for our survival, but it really is another way for us to have some fun on this game in a time where most are not enjoying themselves.
Stay tuned for an article from the EDEN team soon with more details on what we will gain from this and what is expected from us. In the meantime, simply get excited. There are many of you who have fought long and hard to finally get us to the point that we are today. Look back at where we were 10 months ago and rejoice on the progress you have made. Good times are awaiting us eIreland, let’s show our appreciation.

Good Article. Voted.
Eden is not just great for us in terms of bettering our experience in erepublik, with the new rules it's essential for our survival.
Hail Eden! Phuck Phoenix.
😞 sad day
Hail EDEN! o7
Good with progress... Would be awesome with some general information on the inner workings of EDEN in following articles. I am sure there are members of our community that has not the same opportunities as politicians and governmental officials to get that kind of information (:
10 months is pretty long and it's significant for being the duration that you've been in the game. But I think you're also aware that it's actually a lot longer a road than that. I've been waiting the best part of my 19 months in the game for this! There has been discussion after discussion, argument after argument, and I'm just delighted - and a little bit relieved - that we have finally reached this day.
e-kane, originally that's what I intended this article to be. When I asked Lonestar however he said he was already in the middle of one! Didn't want to step on any toes and it would be better to come from the EDEN team anyway. Thanks for the suggestion though.
"There are many of you who have fought long and hard to finally get us to the point that we are today"
not many, just moo.
"not many, just moo"
lol, I hope you're not serious! moo did a hell of a lot for one man, but it would be very ignorant to seriously think it was just him.
Gormley I'd put our position with EDEN down to mainly moo.
He took it upon himself to make a devoted effort to strenghen communication with EDEN last term, not to forget his committment to HQ during the Land swap (Credit to Ibhoy and Cpl with the work they put in during that term too btw) Nogin put in a shift toward the end of her term to help push our position.
There's a good foundation for Connell and Marcus to work off of and I'm sure they'll carry the tourch well this term.
While Celtic it is true that there were just a few that pushed us through the finish, a lot of other people worked to get us that far. I was born after the effort started and even in my first months there were a bunch of people working to get us in. Sure they didn't actually succeed in it, but in no means does that mean they didn't do their best in trying. Communication with HQ is one thing, but convincing the populace was a much longer and more difficult fight.
Take a look at this article and check out the comments showing the difference of support between then and now http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/national-referendum-poll-join-eden-or-not--1158018/1/20 As you can see by just scrolling down a bit, we've come a long way.
I'm not saying this to discredit any of their works but you can see both Connell and Moo were against it at the time proving that they could not possibly be the only ones who put the effort in. I can't blame you for not knowing a lot of this because it was before you were here, but just wanted to share with you how it has been a long and hard fought battle.
Irony is deep in this comment. Too impatient to read it all.. jokes! Great article.
Half jokes.
Hail EDEN and Hail Ireland,I hope you will join soon

We have indeed man, been doing a good bit of stuff with the leaders of EDEN nations. It looks like a prosperous road ahead for us and EDEN.
Man, we're getting so many leaves now, we're going to need a bigger EDEN tree!
EDEN forest anyone? 😉
