Today is the final part of my 3 part platform. My first part was to talk about how I intend on bringing eCanada a real war that we can win and have some fun in while understanding the logistics and capabilities our country has. I also talked about the military and foreign affairs. In part 2 I talked about dealing with the economy and what to do in the pre-v2 stage. Today I will talk about v2 preparation and how my government will make eCanada extremely well prepared so that we hit the ground running in v2. My final article in preparation for the elections will be my finalized cabinet, which will be posted this upcoming Friday. Here are some points that will help eCanada be prepare😛

1) Making sure we have significant gold reserves for v2. Unfortunately, our country is not one that produces hordes of gold daily. We produce around 50-100 gold a day which is average. When v2 comes out, we should be making a lot more daily with the obvious inclusion of titanium into our resources. When v2 comes out, the government will need a lot of gold so that we can convert companies/make new ones to accommodate the version’s needs. A main goal of mine will be to create a set of armament companies so the government can offer cheap, high quality weapons to all Canadians. To do this, however, we need gold. I will encourage that the government continues to print CAD at high amounts so that we can convert it into massive gold profits on the market. We will also work the monetary market with the CAD we have so that we can create vast gold stockpiles and ensure that we have the money to spend when v2 comes around so quick and efficient transitions can be made. 2000 gold has to be a target that eCanada should be reaching for and one we will achieve if I am elected. This will allow us to make sure our Crown Companies are high quality and able to support our vast needs in v2.

2) Continue and increase the baby boom effort. I would like to applaud Chucky for getting us over the 6000 population number. That number is one that has eluded us for so long and it is good to see us back around the number currently at 6189. Chucky Norris started off the Baby Boom committee which I will be continuing and revamping. I will be creating a section of the cabinet forums for strictly baby boom discussion for quicker and more effective communication between members of the committees. Communication is key for this to work and with the members I will have we will make sure that we are communicating. Weekly reports of initiatives and plans made in the baby boom effort will be looked for on the forums to make sure that we are managing time wisely. We will continue to use social networking outlets such as Facebook and Twitter to spread the word of mouth about eRepublik and the cool features it offers. Gaming sites, RPG sites and more will all be recruited from so that we can target the audience most likely to join this game and also stay in this game. I want eCanada to reach to be the very best we can be and what we need the most is a baby boom. Even getting us up to 8000 citizens will play a huge role in our strength in the new version. If elected our administration will reach for this goal and target the proper user bases for maximum participation.

3) Prepare our infrastructure for v2. We currently have 3 Q5 hospitals in place in Ontario, Alberta and Quebec. We also have 4 hospitals currently in strategic reserve in the Health Canada company. It is clear that right now the best strategy to employ is to keep hospitals in large population areas and save some in case of emergency or sell/gift to allies. However, as we have seen from the eRepublik Insider articles, there is a new module for infrastructure. Hospitals in a region won’t be available to the whole region unless they are customized that way (bringing down the length of use for the hospital). They will have an “area of effect’’ meaning they will only heal people within that radius. When v2 comes out I will make sure that we quickly understand the exact usage of hospitals and adjust our strategy. From what I understand at the moment, if a hospital doesn’t cover a whole province of eCanada, I will propose putting two in one so that we can cover the whole province in high population regions such as the 3 with Q5s now. That way we will still maintain the health boost in all 3 regions we currently enjoy now. Defence systems work the same way and although I am not a supporter of spending lots of money on defence systems, I will make sure we have one in Ontario to keep with the fortress strategy. If elected, eCanada will quickly adapt to the new version and make the appropriate changes necessary for the best effectiveness possible with our hospitals.

4) Help and work with the CAF and private armies to adjust to the military changes in v2. As the current Minister of Defence I have been privileged with currently being in the know on what the CAF’s primary changes will be once v2 rolls around. If elected President, I could continue putting input into these changes and make sure our CAF is fully capable when v2 rolls around. This also includes drafting deployment strategies and combined arms tactics necessary to winning battles. In the current war module, battles are very generic and the only strategies required are when to hit the walls/retreat or not etc. With v2 there are multiple new strategies being put in place. Questions such as which hex to deploy into, should I combine strikes with someone else will all be asked? I envision a perfect world where the CAF and the private armies work together. In v2, if the CAF and private armies communicate more and join in more combined strikes our benefits are endless. Imagine a high strength armoured division of the CAF blitzing into enemy territory with a strong CC or CPF Praetors artillery division following behind taking out helicopters. There is great potential in plans such as these and I will make it work. I want to make eCanada a world leader in military strategy and tactics. We may not have the biggest or strongest army, but if elected I will help us be the smartest army.

5) Educate eCanada about the changes. The complexity of eRepublik will be going up ten-fold in v2. While apparently the time necessary of playing the most basic elements of the game won’t change, there is much more customization and thought needed for optimal results. For citizens, they will have time management abilities. Happiness is a new attribute that is being added into the game, along with wellness. Citizens can now choose what to do during the day. They can work extra long hours and make more money, but their wellness and happiness will go down which will also hurt their productivity. They can also attend movies which increase their happiness or they can train extra longer to boost up their strength. There are many more options for a citizen to choose from and while that does make the game more interesting, it will also likely take away the simple style of the game which a lot of citizens love. For companies, there will be customization points. This means that they will have to decide between various factors such as durability, effectiveness, power, accuracy and defence to name a few. Some citizens who haven’t been actively following the new module will be lost as to how to approach some of these complex things. That is why we will do our best to keep the media instructing our citizens the best way to adapt to the changes and suggestions that can help themselves and eCanada. If elected, our citizens will be educated to the changes and ready to roll when v2 comes out.

I hope you have enjoyed reading the 3rd part of my platform. If you found it too long, here is a tl:dr version of these points:

1) Create gold stockpiles to prepare us for our needs when we convert into v2.
2) Continue and expand the baby boom effort.
3) Create effective strategies for placing and customization of infrastructure.
4) Work with the CAF and private armies to adjust to the new version and create battle tactics crucial to success.
5) Educate the country about the changes coming for more preparedness from everyone.

The French version of this platform will likely be posted tomorrow and the cabinet will be posted Friday.

Sincerely,
Derek Harland
