Note from Deputy/Acting Speaker of the House, Claire Littleton

Hello, eUS citizens. I write to you as the Acting Speaker of the House to inform you that this article is in no way affiliated with A Little Claire-ification, but instead is an official article of the The Speaker's Word, the official paper of the eUSA Congress. Unfortunately, Cromstar, Speaker of the House has real life priorities and, once again, can not bring this End-Term Congressional Progress Report to you himself in the official paper. Also, he has the password to the org, so I am unable to publish this where it should be published. I felt as Acting SoH that my paper was the next best place. Here is the Mid-Term Report if you missed it: 17th Congress Mid-Term Report

With that said, I ask you to not subscribe to A Little Claire-ification based on this article, but instead to subscribe to The Speaker's Word. Now, down to business. BlakeChrysostom, Kansas, has written a summary of the second half of the 17th Congressional Term.

End-Term Congressional Report by BlakeChrysostom

Hello everyone and on behalf of the 17th Congress and the Government Oversight Committee, welcome to my second Congressional Update. It has been a turbulent week or two in the world, and the same can be said of Congress. Thankfully, however, our government will continue to function regardless of whether ATLANTIS exists or Romania is a world power. We have worked hard to continue to bring reform and efficiency to the eUS government. The Congressional Updates are part of that overall program. If I’m fortunate enough to be re-elected to Congress, you can expect to see another one of these next week.

If you are interested, the previous Congressional update can be found here:

*Notice: I have not included “lulz” proposals.
**Also, all money transfers to the Congressional Budget Office were pre-approved, and passed.

________________________________________ ______________________

May 12:

-Congress voted no to peace with Brazil 10-23

May 13:

-Congress approved an MPP with Singapore, 37-10

May 14:

-Congress approved a peace treaty with Ireland

-Ssomo,Oregon, proposed a bill raising the iron import tax from 0% to 10%. This measure failed, 7-35.

May 15:

-Congress approved an MPP with the UK, 45-0

May 16:

-Congress approved an MPP with Spain, 43-1

May 17:

-Tarik Ibn Ziad, Ohio, proposed the transfer of 650 USD from CBO to Fort Immuno**

**Fort Immuno is a government based weapons company that stockpiles Q1 weapons. The manager requested weekly operating funding, and Congress approved 21-0 in the 24 hour vote period.

May 18:

-Congress approved a peace treaty with Brazil, 33-11.

May 19:

-Claire Littleton, New Jersey, proposed the formation of the Junior Congress Committee, a new Committee set up along the lines of the rest of them with the exception that every NEW 1st TERM CONGRESSPERSON will belong to it. The people in this Committee will also belong to one of the 4 Basic Committees as well. The rationale for the committee was to acclimate new members of Congress to the rules of the body and to inform them of ongoing votes and debates. This measure was approved, 22-0 reaching the necessary quorum in the 24 hour vote period.

-Weighing in on the Sweden-Germany conflict, Congress voted no to a peace treaty with Sweden, 25-20.

May 20:

-Ananias, Florida, expanded on the previous proposal of funding for Ft. Immuno by proposing the addition of a line item to the Federal Budget for funding in the amount of $827 (USD) per week for each government-owned weapons company (Fort Immuno, Fort Korbin, Fort Dover, Fort Nave) to be paid by end of day Sunday by funds transferred from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). These funds will be used exclusively for the payment of employee wages and the procurement of iron. This was approved, 21-0, reaching the necessary quorum in the 24-hour voting period.

-Congress approved the printing of 200,000 USD, 37-7.

May 21:

-Dbuck, Idaho, proposed an increase on import taxes on houses from 25% to 28%. This measure failed, 33-6.

Voting-Record Publication by Claire Littleton

Hello, eUS, below you will find links that will direct you to a spreadsheet of the voting records of how every Congressperson voted on every in-game vote. They are separated by dates, so make sure to check them all. If your Congressperson has failed to report their votes, then take it up with them via PM. I can only collect them and can not force them to register their votes. Also, I would like to note that the May 17-23 report was just posted yesterday so your Congressperson may not have had time to register their vote yet.

--1st Half of Term Records--

April 27-30: Voting Record

May 1-4: Voting Record

May 5-11: Voting Record

--2nd Half of Term Records (New)--

May 12-16: Voting Record

May 17-23: Voting Record

Note: Check back for the 17-23rd as those records are automatically updated in the link provided as new records come in.
