Well first you have to join a political party. Take your pick. There are a few. To run for Congress you have to be a member of one of the top 5 parties. Then go to the party page (where you joined the party) and click become a member of Congress. Then if lucky on election day you may become a Congress person.

The other offices will come with time.

Well I am hardly impartial as I am a member of Eire Aonair but the choice is up to you. Real life political philosophies don't really match up well with how the game works but the members of the parties usually do believe them. So if you are of a certain political belief in the real world then being around those who are the same is probably going to make you feel more included in a group. Unless you like a challenge. lol

Clee, you'll find a lot of player with some irony, some even can be a bit aggressive. Don't care. It's just a game where you can discover some features of their personality behind their mask. But remember, it's just a game and like other "places" there're players with different intentions.
My recommendation: change your avatar. Don't show your real face since this's a "second life" game. It's not estrange you've received a lot of friendship invitation showing your real photo (with a real beauty). If you want to exchange more words do it privately and ask for the same open way you do).
