I hereby announce my candidacy for the 24th Congress on behalf of the state of Missouri.

For Starters:

Understandably, for those of you who have subscribed and followed my articles since I started writing them in August, I made obvious to you, the people of eUSA, that I would not write about politics, let alone make a run for the 24th Congress. Here I am, however, doing exactly opposite what I said I would do, not so much as to show that my mind has changed, for surely everyone changes their mind once in a while on certain issues, but rather, to be transparent about who I am. It is the transparency and the unity of congress that makes for an effective congress. Now, I am not going to promise those of you who live in the state of Missouri that I will bring a hospital, a defense system, or clean-water. Rather, what I will offer to you, the people, is the creation or continuation of talks in the following fields.

On Economy:

We, the citizens of the eUnited States are confronted with an economic affliction of great proportions. Our economy is based around those who spend, and those who build. We, as a nation, currently expect the people who own corporations to take profit at a loss so that newer players can get more involved in the game. This expectation is hurting the owners of companies who desire to make a profit; hurting those who wanted to live the eRepublik dream. It is not the company owner’s job to create a foundation for new players to get involved; it is in fact, the economist’s job to rectify the situation. In the mean time, it is the government’s duty to offer some sort of financial support to those who currently maintain 0 skill companies and begin in the development government funded companies to build newer players into the game. A careful note, they will not be Non Profit Organizations for that concept simply does not work in this game. If an NPO exists, it operates at bare minimums, allowing the products to be cheaper. This would ruin the the economy of the produced products because it would kill the competition of the marketplace. That being said however, to create a level field, it is my hope that they will be Low Profit Organizations (or LPO's for short).


That being said, I can’t promise to you that in my congressional lifetime that I will be able to produce government funded corporations (LPOs), nor can I offer immediate subsidy to those who have bravely taken a profit loss to encourage newer players to continue playing the game. Instead, I promise that upon my first days in office, I will begin the talks on the matter throughout all of congress. This is an important issue and it needs to be addressed. We need the newer citizens of eUSA to have a clear message from a single source (i.e. a Committee on Jobs) to explain to them in detail them how to get started, and, on an even greater level, why they should get more involved in the game and our community of players. This could even leave room for a merging of the Mentor program and the government funded corporation; therefore allowing direct access from the mentors to each of their mentees. When a player has a clear path ahead of them, with no forks in the road, the player has no chance of getting lost.

On Construction:

To put in a simple sense, due to the more rigid structure and the greater understand of game mechanics, the eUS is much more selective on the foundations it places. The eUSA has a more focused role on the Hospitals and Defensive Structures we station our walls with, the purchasing of such structures have been limited - especially since at this point. We are only focused on achieving Q5's - for the usage of Q1-4 will only distract us, and may even weaken our fortress state’s population. Therefore, a large majority of the construction economy rests on those who own Q5 companies, many of which are acting on "The Good of the Nation" (i.e. Max McFarland) rather than a large profit. This pushes the economic market place of competition to an almost dead state. In fact, the only construction need that still remains for an even slight demand is housing, which is at itself is quite limited.

Besides the notation that most can’t afford the upper tier housing, the purchase of an individual quality house is a single purchase, not like Food and Weapons which will need to be purchased over and over again. At the moment, since our active population remains stagnant, the demand on such houses are much lower than that of nations that are currently undergoing a baby boom, simply because most of us already own houses. It is my hope that soon we will have our own baby boom to inject more money back into the construction industry.

It is funny that the very strain that recently affected the real life US economy of the “Housing Bubble” collapse is currently affecting the eUSA’s construction field at this very moment – but I digress.

On War:

Our reluctance for conflict should not be misunderstood as dwindling will of the eUSA. When action is required to preserve our national security, as well as our borders, we will act. It is the given eAmerican way, whether it be to defend our borders from the PEACE invaders, or defend the borders of our allies. We will not impede on the lands of others, even those of our greatest enemies. We have soldiers who commit themselves to defending others – but we will not sink as low as PEACE GC or act as imperialists. To quote one of the most well known clauses of the PEACE GC Charter:

“ The PEACE Global Community shall be established as a defensive alliance that will pursue peace in good faith. ”
(Charter of the PEACE Global Community, Clause 1.3)

Yet, if one analyzes the world as it was on day 646 of the New World, when I joined, it was apparent to all that PEACE GC was doing no such thing. In fact, the stronger powers of PEACE GC were acting not out of defense, but rather, as imperialists, invading eUSA soil. There is no defense in offense, and there never will be. Many people currently residing in the eUSA ask for the invasion of our enemies – and I firmly stand for us doing no such thing. We will liberate – not destroy. We will defend – not attack. We will be peaceful – not aggressive. It is these three codes that guide and destine the eAmerican position in the global political talks, and will continue to do so for days to come.

On Education:

Since the majority of war on eUS soil has come to a close, we can begin to focus our attention on internal social developments such as the Department of Education. At the current moment, the Mentor Program is restarting and slowly rebuilding to its once former glory. That being said however, if we were to have a baby-boom at this moment in time - I can say without a doubt that we would not be prepared to handle that sort of influx. While the baby-boom will help create liquidity in our economic market, the training of the new players as well as the ability to retain those players attention would be limited at best.

It is my hope that with the implementation of the LPO's, the mentors of the Mentor Program will have direct access to their mentees - allowing constant contact and communication. In addition, the mentee would be able to see his or her fellow mentees and ask those fellow mentees questions that maybe the others know, but they do not. This allows for a creation of social circles - and a more interwoven group of players. In addition, it is my intention that an additional priority to the Mentor Program be added - this priority will be to teach the newer players the wonder of IRC, because the faster the communication, the better they get involved with the community, and the more instantaneous gratification they will gain from playing this game; therefore keeping their attention. IRC is the reason I got into this game myself, without it - there would be no somewhat-egotistical Clevinger!
