As you probably are aware, one of the deputy ministers in the Polish Ministry of Defense published an article in which he and many other promises that they will not fight for Sweden. Some, including the Polish minister himself actually goes so far as to say that he'll be fighting against Sweden in all battles, which he later also did in a Swedish Resistance War. Which meant that Sweden was forced to send troops to win the battle, soldiers who otherwise would have fought in the extremely important battles between France and Macedonia, and the battle between Spain and Brazil.

What was it that created this anger?

Really nothing special, a player named "Asia` off '(This was his IRC nick) came in on the Swedish channel and was probably interested in getting Swedish cs, just as it says in the topic in the channel, he wrote .cs after which our bot gave him information on how to continue in order to get Swedish CS. At that time, a player named LeoVince joins or Swedish IRC channel, this is also just his irc nick, and asks the Swedish players on IRC to give asia `off Swedish citizenship. None of them follows the official instructions available from the Swedish side of how to apply for Swedish citizenship (this is done, if you are interested in knowing, through the Swedish forum). Instead, they just like hundreds of other players do every day, choose to spam on IRC about citizenship, if you've ever been a member of Congress you know how irritating it is with all PM about citizenship, in addition, there even were clear instructions (which however were ignored) you can probably understand that the Swedes, who sat on irc was a little irritated.

The Swedish players replied by starting to troll LeoVince, and he himself started to brag about a variety of positions that he have had in Poland, something that no Swedish of course have a clue about and thus basically ignore. It is in this moment that the Minister from Poland, tejku, rises into the spotlight, he writes that everyone in Poland knows who LeoVince is, that he himself is completely unknown in Sweden is something that he appears to have no idea about. Then this is written in the channel:

First and foremost you must understand what is written here, in Sweden it is almost a figure of speech that you hire a Pole if anything is to be built if. Especially if it should be done via the black market, then you hire someone from Poland to help you. What Stekaren and Lurvinator wrote is simply bad trolling with a focus on this very bad joke/saing, and not in any way about racism or insult of the Polish people and their country.

Then I notice that LeoVince and Tejku both require an apology from the Swedish government, otherwise they will continue fighting against Sweden in important battles. If I am to be completely honest I get really angry when I read things like this, you believe that the Swedish government should apologize for what some trolls on IRC wrote? If there is any Government who should be apologizing, it is actually Poland and not Sweden, just a few months ago, Sweden fought against China and lost our colonies in Germany, these regions gave us a bonus in our production. Poland with President yave and Minister for Foreign Affairs Maniek M in the lead quickly put Germany as their Natural Enemy, but promised to give back the regions to Sweden as soon as our war against China had been finished. When we managed to get peace with Chinawe contacted yave and Maniek M but was met by a quiet wall, none of them answered us. About two days later, we got (Sweden President w3st3rb3rg and I who was then the Minister of Defence) a PM from Maniek M, he wrote that Poland would not give back any regions to Sweden and that these now belong to Poland.

Poland's President and Foreign Minister lied to the Swedish president and then stole regions that Sweden, of course, would otherwise defended much more, Sweden did not even get an apology from Poland. But you still feel that Sweden should apologize for what some trolls who have no connection to the Swedish Government, writes on irc?

Another case is somewhat closer to us in terms of time, Russia is, as you may know, about to take over Sweden and again, we will disappear from the map. This war has been going on for quite a while and Poland have had several opportunities to help us but has instead chosen to think of themselves and not his allies. Poland chose to attack Germany to get the production bonuses, instead of helping Sweden so we would not disappeared from the map. Poland chose to put the Czech Republic as Natural Enemy (a war that not even had time to begin as Czech Republic was erased from the map before Poland could attack, clever plan there by the way), instead of helping Sweden so we would not disappeared from the map.

Now Poland has finally put Russia as natural enemy and will help us, but it is too late. Today we have two regions left and in about 12 hours will have lost one of them and thus Sweden will disappear from the map in just one more day. We have not even got a "sorry, we will help you as soon as we can" we have only got angry comments from the Polish representatives in ONE.

Sweden has chosen to swallow its pride when it comes to these issues, we rather remember the good relations that we have had with Poland in the past years (Sweden and Poland are actually some of the countries that have been allies the longest in the history of eRepublik). We remember when we both helped each other when one of us had problems with battles, economy, or if any of the countries needed help against a PTO, so we decided to try and continue as if nothing had happened and continue to build on our relations with Poland. Therefore, I feel terribly sad when a Polish player, who also are a minister, is acting in this way and fight against an ally, an ally who also already have lost almost everything.

However, I hope that our common history never will be forgotten, I have many close friends in Poland, which I value highly and I will always fight for Poland when you need help in battles. Just the same feeling as has many of my fellow Swedes, even though we had our fights, it is something that always happens in a relationship, but it is important that we can overcome the obstacles standing in the way of our great relationship. We are ready to continue building on good relations with Poland, but it also demands that Poland is willing to do the same thing, and then we can not afford to repeat the sad events that has happened in the past history.
