My Life as a PTOer PART 2: Duplicity

A Little Newspaper Update:

A new revival calls for a brand-new newspaper name. So from here on out, this is Manong Rizal’s “Ratting Out”. Get it? 😛

This is the second part of my tell-all story of my activity as a PTOer in eBelgium during the New Era after the liberation of eBelgium. To read the first part, please click here.

The Belgian Revolutionary Party

The Belgian Revolutionary Party (now Res Belgica), Belgium’s longest still-active political entity was, founded by me (harharhar). It was originally created by an EDEN PTOer named Abramow, who I immediately pushed out and used as a front for my propaganda (tehee). This was a great opportunity as the BRP became a “neutral” voice. It was neither EDEN nor PEACE; consequently, the membership of Kheops and later, the highly revered Aldous Zamiatin, made the BRP a true Belgian party.

But my struggles were only starting. The highly polarized nation led to great cynicism. In fact, most Belgian players did not even want an independent eBelgium at this time. They wanted to maintain the union with eNetherlands. However, this was a problem for my ambition. If eBelgium returns to the union, my plans were going to be eviscerated. Thus, I had to act fast!

Belgian At Heart, Belgium In Motion

It became evident that I was a non-Belgian player as I did not speak French or Dutch. Ironically, the truth can mask a bigger lie. Thus, I admitted to the community that I was indeed a non-Belgian player. This, however, was monumental as it enabled me to start the “Belgian at Heart, Belgium in Motion” campaign. The campaign's message was simple: that in the plethora of foreign nationals in eBelgium, there were those who were dedicated "eBelgians at heart" who wanted for eBelgium to move forward as an independent nation. More importantly, the mindset that the campaign spread led to the acceptance of many of eBelgium’s beloved non-Belgian players in future generations such as the divine MaryamQ. The irony, however, furthers, as this very campaign, one that I used merely for propaganda, would later truly make me an eBelgian at heart.

Some were somewhat convinced of my authenticity, while some were not. In fact, my dear friend Elynea, who was formerly one of my greatest critics, once questione😛 “Belgium without eden, nor peace, is it possible?” Well, fast-forward to the future: with my co-authorship and co-founding of the Petition and Committee of Neutrality, perhaps one of the most important pieces of eBelgian declarations in the beginning of the New Era, eBelgium was able to remain neutral throughout the years.

In-Exile

My fears, however, came into fruition. The eUK (member of PEACE) reconquered eBelgium. Furthermore, my disagreements with Kheops led to my departure from the BRP. Consequently, these events led me to think that my mission in eBelgium was over, and that it was time for me to move on.

Thus, I returned to the eUS. There, I helped the ailing Umbrella in its struggle to survive. Though Umbrella managed to barely continue its might, I was able to form connections due to my efforts in improving Umbrella’s public relations. In fact, this return to the eUS was instrumental as it helped me become friends with influential eUS media moguls and politicians such as Arjay Phoenecian and Astra Kat G who would later help in convincing eUS citizens of eBelgium’s neutrality. As Director of Foreign Recruits for Umbrella, I also traveled to various communities in recruiting members. Among these communities were the ePhilippines whose dedicated citizens would later help eBelgium in its path to neutrality and in maintaining its independence (ie. SOL training wars).

It became evident to me, however, through intelligence chatters that EDEN was planning to liberate eBelgium once again.

Let’s Tango Once More!

Thanks to EDEN’s brilliant strategic planning, PEACE was too preoccupied with other more important wars at the time to be bothered by the resistance war in Brussels. This ultimately helped in the re-liberation of all three regions of eBelgium.

As I was preoccupied with other matters with Umbrella, my return to eBelgium was delayed. However, it was evident that my previous efforts were soon to be forgotten. After my ousting from the BRP, I no longer held any political power. Thus, once again, I had to act fast!

My fallout with the BRP meant that returning to the party was no longer an option. Though Kheops’ successors (including Aldous Zamiatin) recognized my role as founder, I was already marginalized from the group. I therefore had two options: to join the EDEN PTO forces or to join the PEACE-aligned pro-UNL (Union of eNL and eBe) group led by Olv007. I chose Olv007.

My cooperation with Olv007 (who would later become eBelgium's first president in the New Era) started mostly through back-channels. However, I also knew that the only way for me to politically survive was to also cooperate with the EDEN PTO forces. The PTO forces' political might was also still very strong. Cooperating with them was both necessary and unavoidable. In fact, at the same time, I held multiple talks with Rod Damon (leader of the eUS/EDEN PTO force) and formed a secret alliance with him. This alliance would later lead me to betray Olv007 in his presedential re-election which will consequently lead to Elynea’s election as eBelgium’s first female president.
