Greetings Nigerians,

this is your beloved MoEd & Statistics

I'm presenting yesterdays sunday's article today and ask for forgiveness for the delay
be warned no spellchecking has been done so if you're a grammar or orthography nazi or anything like that prepare for bleeding eyes

This article is meant to persent

1) some perks of the new forum
2) something about how it is used
3) another IRC client & function
4) more statistics

When it comes to communication in eRepublik the first choice of those active in the meta-game has always been the IRC. Some of it's advantages have been presented in the last article of this series. There is however a significant weakness of IRC and PMs which is that information cannot be stored properly. Sure you can log your communications but finding a particular piece of information is hard and you cannot rely on everyone doing it. More importantly despite of many of its advantages using the IRC is unconfortable to many and mass PMs can be annoying as you cannot control which informations you receive which may on the other hand prevent many players from spreading a particular information which they deem irrelevant at this point but that may turn out important on another point. This is where the forum comes into play. Information will be stored permanently and in a (hopefully) structured fashion. But it has also some perks that may not be visible to the ordinary user. Custom groups can be altered more easily than mass PMs which allows a more focused spread of information. To merge the perks of forum and IRC there's a shoutbox and a calendar and many other features.
So why are there three forums now? With the former official forums lack of active administration and the only alternative being not well received so far this is meant as a new beginning for everyone willing to give it a new chance. It is certainly not meant as an insult to anyone and if anyone has founded concerns in respect of this matter feel free to contact me. Maybe you don't feel like signing up in another forum but I urge you to give it a chance.

2) While I hope that the forum is self-explanatory (or else I'll have to put some more work into it) allow me to link you to the reception desk where you may ask any question

Some basic information ahea😛

To avoid spambot attacks all accounts have to be approved – to make this easier you should use the same name that you use in erep.
To enjoy full access of the forum request membership to groups like 'citizen' 'visitor' etc. by visiting your profile and 'groups' and applying to the desired group. There are also some hidden groups for ministers etc. Ministers who've not been added to them automatically know whom they have to message to get them 🙂
This ofc applies only to those who actually hold a certain position in eRep not in another more private fictional reality.

The forum is structured in 4 areas. With the first being a welcome center for all who newly arrive and providing some basic information. The second one being a place where the gov can make announcements the third being meant as a place where citizens can ask questions and discuss stuff and the last one being a place where things outside erepublik can be adressed.

3)
Last time I've introduced mibbit and the rizon.net variant. Another client for the IRC is ChatZilla though some IRC nerds may mock you for using it and insist that you should mIRC or some other client instead but frankly who cares. You can't make them happy anyway because they're prolly locked up in some basement for one or another reason. Once you've installed it it's better than mibbit at least. If you now ask yourself where you can get it or find more information – don't ask yourself and don't even look at me, dummy. Everything you need can be found here: http://www.irchelp.org/irchelp/clients/cross/chatzilla.html
That is under the premise that everything you need is chatzilla so prolly never ever.

You want more statistics? No? Well scr*w you you'll get 'em anyway

Tab with n being the number and % being the % of votes achieved by a certain party during the congress elections

diagams 1-4

*names given are the names the party wears today. some parties may have been renamed.

These diagrams also artfully illustrate how having no congress affects the number of votes cast during congress elections.
