It is interesting to join Entente?

ARNHEM - It seems that the last LSD article made some discussion within the eNetherlands. Although I am missing all the facts on the table. What is Entente? Why Entente? Are there other alliances? Eden? In this article I will explain about this subject.

Alliances
eNetherlands is part of Phoenix, one of the 5 biggest alliances in eRepublik at the moment. We are part of Phoenix since it had been formed. Phoenix has been made by former PEACEgc alliance members. There are more alliances in the eWorld. Eden, ALA, Entente and SOL. Here is a map of all alliances in the eWorld;
Eden is aggressive, as most of you guys could see, on the eWorld map. eFrance and eGermany don't have their original regions. At the moment they are both half under control of Eden. And as some people already noted in the newspapers. Eden attacked lately eArgentina.
Possibility to join 2 alliances
LSD proposed in an article to look if it is possible to join Entente. Many people thought LSD would like to join Entente, but that was not correct, LSD said. Now it is not really a discussion matter to leave Phoenix. Once many of our good brothers are Phoenix members, it is not a good idea to leave them. What should we do then? Join 2 alliances? Is that possible? Now I checked the Phoenix Alliance Charter. And under chapter 9.7 and 9.8 it says it is allowed to join another alliance if a cooperate contract has been signed between the alliances.
Cooperation Contract
Now the Charter says not much about what a cooperating contract means. But is it possible that Phoenix signs a cooperating contract with some other alliance? Now the fast answer is NO. Although it is possible that Phoenix could sign such a contract with ALA. ALA is the alliance of almost all South America countries. And although it is not a formality, eBrazil is member of Phoenix and ALA. Although eNetherlands isn't able to join ALA, because we are European. Is there a chance that a cooperating contract would be signed between Entente and Phoenix. Now at the moment that contract is far, far away. Entente is weak, eFrance has ben overrun. And they don't have much members. Donnie Bronco (Secretary-General Phoenix) said "As far as I understand this, LSD wants to leave Phoenix. But I can tell you this right away, there is no Phoenix AND Entente.
Other opinions
Although Donny Braco closed the door already. Other ePresidents had some other interesting opinions too.
Ignas Grinevicius (ePresident of Lithuania) "I think you won't have any problems with General council signing it, but I also think there is no point for you to join Entente."
sesta.bg (ePresident of Serbia) "fill it in I'm ok with that, but Phoenix GS has the final word,"
SpeedKing (ePresident of Latvia) "IIRC, Entente was formed as a third choice between EDEN and Phoenix so I don't see how could you be at two of these alliances at once."
Other presidents were not available for comment. Although I missed asking the opinion of 1 president. The eDutch President, what do you think about LSD's article? And about joining Entente? Awnser in comment 4 and 5
Personal conclusion
My conclusion is, it isn't possible to join Entente. And we would have nothing to gain. Entente is weak and at the moment overran by Eden. Although we have same issues with Eden, probably we could just talk with Entente. Joining another alliance then Phoenix... I don't see it straight away. And why would we? More protection? Nah I don't think so. eRepublik is a wargame, sometimes we just have to fight!

To clearify,
- LSD want to join Entente as assocaited member.
- LSD doesnt want to leave PHX.
- LSD want to join Entente to make a clear statement about not supporting the imperialistic wars. Not for protection.
- LSD's have done research about become a associated member of Entente and stay member from PHX. Our article is based on the answer from the SG of PHX who have said us that this could be possible if accepted by PHX. That's different then the 'no' he said under the LSD article.

Entente is an useless alliance that is formed by a bunch of countries that frankly dont care about anyone else but themselves. They dont help each other and dont have any power.
So do i think we should leave PHOENIX to join them? No, i dont think we should.
Besides if i think we should or shouldnt, we all should look on if we can even afford to. Leaving Phoenix will mean that the cost for daily battles will triple to around 400 gold a month. Protection will triple because Ukraine, Italy and Paraguay combined deliver the same damage as Russia alone. So we need 200 gold a month more just for protection.
Erepublik is a game and should therefore be fun. Well, i havent had as much fun as when we invaded the USA last year. So i have no problem with Phoenix attacking other countries. After all it is a game.
FYI yesterday i was told by the Argentines that ALA doesnt exist any more. Brazil and Argentina are already an official part of PHX and several other former ALA countries are now associated members.
