Issues of Newspapers, activities and forums

Day 1,510, 04:16 Published in South Africa South Africa by Steven Bosch

There have been some articles in the past while (and mostly none) that are worrying to be honest. Our press system is a mess (and we shouldn't only be blaming admin for that).

The fact is, we know that the newspaper system in eRepublik is problematic. But, we can't really do anything about that. What worries me is that eRepublik is a game that should firstly be seen from people who only play in the game. I know that many of us gain a lot from interaction on the forums, and more from chats on IRC, but it is worrying that we are in a situation where we need activity. This is a small country where we should be doing everything we can to get information out there and to get young players involved.

So, stop complaining for once and try and get people to see that there's more than merely working and training in the game.

For instance - we have a newly elected president, but I can't find the cabinet anywhere. A while back there were numerous people feeling we need to fight to free the Western Cape (with even the eSAARF Military Unit ordering citizens to fight FOR the Resistance), yet this region was contracted to eBrazil. Couldn't we at least tell citizens what is going on?

So I'd like to ask my fellow players - let's stop the idiotic articles and literally remember that we are a floundering country, where so-called "light reading" might just be the type of thing that'll force another player to quit out of boredom. Can't we kickstart something around here?

Keep the young players in mind - let's facilitate, let's create activity and while the system is broken, let's work with what we have.
