People of Ireland

Irishmen and Irishwomen, I come before you today asking you to give me the honour of leading this fine country. On the 5th of May, I ask you to give me your vote. In return for your approval, I will seek to give each and every one of you an Ireland we can be truly proud of.

A little about me

I am never happy with what we have. I always seek improvement no matter how well we do. I will always push for the extra mile and will not be afraid to do the hard yards to get there. My hunger and desire to see this country achieve great things is unquenchable. I will never stop wanting more for this country.

I believe in team spirit. I give credit where it is due and will never seek personal glory. Friendship, camaraderie and community will always win out over individual greed in the long run.

I treat people fairly. Everyone has my respect from the first minute I meet them. That is a given. It is up to them to keep that respect. However, I do not suffer fools gladly. Anyone who places greed and selfishness above the greater good will lose that respect immediately. It is only then that they will have to earn it. Honour, Courage and Fair-play are more than just pretty words to me. They are the code I live my life by. I give them freely and expect them in return.

I am a super active player. I challenge anyone, not only in eIreland but in the whole of eRepublik to claim that they are more active than I am. I have been an ever present. I have spent hundreds and maybe thousands of hours learning everything I could about this game. I understand how this game works. I am ready to be Taoiseach. If elected, the people of Ireland will know that this country will never miss an opportunity because their CP was not online. I will be active in-game and IRC at all times.

Achievements

One of the things I do not like is to go on about personal achievements. However, I also understand that if I am to stand any chance in this election that I will have to show people what I am capable of. So here goes.

2 x Minister of Foreign Affairs

I have served Ireland as MoFA under 3 different CPs from 3 different parties now. I stayed in my position through good times and bad. I do not leave when the going get's tough.

Brolliance: At a time when the country was badly divided I decided that enough was enough. I made a decision that I would actively push for our entry into the Bros. I attended a meeting with their leadership and negotiated a deal for Irelands entry. I then came back and pushed the proposal through congress with everything I had. (This took 2 weeks in which time we had 2 different CPs)

MPPs: I have fought equally as hard for our MPPs with Croatia and Spain.

I have forged many ties with Croatia. Although some people may not feel comfortable with RL playing a part in this game, that is where the connection between our 2 countries lies. They struggled for freedom in RL just as the Irish did. They have a natural affinity with us. Like it or not, this makes them hugely dependable allies to have. This MPP has also given us more action than any other in my time playing eRepublik. 100 Gold? This alliance is worth twice that.

I also negotiated an MPP with Spain for half of the usual cost. I met their CP on an ICA mission during the liberation of South Africa. I saw first hand his willingness to help a small nation in more ways than one. From that day I identified them as a potentially good MPP. Given that they were under threat of invasion it might turn out to be another MPP that we will see activated. This MPP was only designed for the short term and can be re-assessed.

I want to keep the US MPP. We enjoy huge security from it. No-one knows what is around the corner. Never know when we might need it 🙂

ex-Party President and founding member of the Labour Party

I am the longest serving member of my party. I have taken it from 6 members to one of the top parties in the country. That did not just happen. It took a lot of hard work. I thank my comrades for making Labour a great party. Despite what some might feel, I believe Ireland needs a party like Labour and our members have worked hard for the country as a whole. The hard work and dedication that goes into a party like Labour alone is phenomenal.

co-Founder and Supreme Commander of the Irish Citizen Army

This has been the single most difficult project I have had in my time here. Founded by myself and Joe Hitman, it was originally a loose collection of Soldiers. After Labour had been put in the capable hands of Mr Ginge, I decided to work on making it a highly active and organised group. The activities of the ICA have made many friends for Ireland. During the defense of Northern Ireland(good times🙂 our connections brought almost 150 Croatians, Seal Team 6, and the Canadian Military to Ireland. Since then we have been involved in allied operations in Australia and South Africa, where we took home a Resistance Medal. ICA members are ranking up at an alarming rate, adding to the strength of Ireland as a whole. I will be handing over the running of the ICA to one of my comrades. I want to thank each and every one of the guys for making it possible. You have my utmost respect.

Irelander of the Month, January 2010

In January, my party was PTOed in what turned out to be an attempted PTO of Ireland. A couple of hours before the Party election was due to begin, several unfamiliar and unknown faces showed up, one of them putting himself forward for Party President. We had little time to react and ended up losing the election by one vote. The PTOers had asked us to co-operate with them. Their only policy seemed to be breaking into the top 5. We decided to play along and see what they were upto. We found out that they were actually planning a PTO of the country. When the Congress elections had come around they had all moved to top 5 parties. I tipped off these parties as to who the threats were and organised the filling up of regions to block them. Only one of them got in. No-one f**ks with my party, and no-one f**cks with my country.

Summary of my aims for the next term:

Full integration and co-ordination with Brolliance

Having organised our entry into this alliance, I want to push on and start participating in it properly. As President, I will ensure that the IDF is fighting in the right place and at the right time. I have all the contacts needed in this alliance to co-ordinate with our allies properly. The IDF will fight wherever is most beneficial to both ourselves and the alliance as a whole. If we do not start to do this, then we may as well leave the Brolliance as we are only wasting our own time and theirs. I will demand nothing short of absolute maximum support from our allies when we need it. By the same token I will demand that our forces give our allies the same support where and when it is needed. If we are to expect this from them, then we must do likewise, otherwise it will only look like we are in it for ourselves. All that being said, I am Irish to the core and will never stand for our identity being compromised by our participation in any alliance.

Irish Defence Forces

I commend the work of Cpl Useless on his re-organisation of the IDF. He has them moving in the right direction finally. My interference with this re-organisation would be minimal. However it will not be non-existent. We should not be dividing our forces into different battles. Being small as we are we must channel our damage to have any impact. V2 specialisation comes into play here also and we need to prepare for it now. I would ask that each party nominate one person to form a committee whose sole purpose it will be to prepare Ireland for V2. I am in regular contact and have made friends with some of the best military tacticians in this game. One thing is for sure, our army will be busy if I am elected.

We need to get cracking on this. As mentioned in the previous section I want to assemble a team to deal with this. We need to get some feedback from the general populace about this. I would like to put a link to a form in every official Irish article(the new National Newspaper could be ideal for this) to find out exactly where we stand in regards as to what professions, military strengths etc that citizens intend to migrate their skills to. If we find that we are going to come up short in a particular area then at least our eyes will be opened to that fact and we can try to do something about it.

Tanking Fund

I want to set up an org to hold funds specifically for tanking. At first it will be based on whatever donations are received. It may take a long time for funds to grow, but we have to start sometime. We can also in future look at further possible initiatives to generate Gold for this fund. Perhaps exporting a small percentage of state weapons each week and transferring the takings to the fund is an option. Another option would be the sale of war bonds. Funds would only be used for battles directly involving Ireland, maximising our damage when we need it the most. My ultimate goal is to eventually put Ireland in a position where we can realistically get ourselves directly involved in battle.

State Companies

The state companies will be running at max production. Soldiers will be given weapons on a regular basis to rank up. We have a lot of catching up to do militarily. Let's start doing something about it.

IRC Campaign

I want the co-operation of our best publishers to campaign for IRC usage. Real time communication is going to be essential in V2. I would aim for 3 articles a week(they can be just re-released) to be voted up into the top 5. We need to get people on there, and just as importantly, we need to try and keep them there.

Promotion of eIreland

I want every active citizen to begin their quest for a Society Builder medal. Even if half of us can only get one new player then it is worth it. I would also like to set-up a website solely for the promotion of eIreland to be ran by the Ministry of Community and Ministry of New Citizens.

Celtic League

I fully support the Celtic League. We should embrace our shared culture. This initiative will be given whatever support it needs if I am elected.

Parties of Ireland

Consider this my official request for your support. I am not going to promise you Cabinet Positions for support. I plan to put together the best Cabinet this country has ever seen and it will not be chosen along party lines. In fact even if you do not support me, and I win, you will still be given a position if you are the best person for the job. If you are interested in a position then feel free to PM me now.

I will not stop until such time as this country is the best it can be and then some. I want to set us up for long term development while at the same time provide an exciting and action packed term.
