I'm Not Running For Prime Minister

I'm Not Running For Prime Minister

I am not running for "Prime Minister," because I have no intention of burning out.

Burnout has affected almost every Canadian President this year, causing a string of short Presidencies woefully bereft of much productive good. I've often said that 30 days is too short a time for real change to occur and I've indeed written an article about what could be done to help prevent it. While I prefer a constitutional amendment and a formal separation of powers, my administration will be running off the principle espoused in that article, the crux being a split between the Head of State (the President) and Head of Government (the Prime Minister.) Let me overview briefly how then the new cabinet will work on August 6th.

The President (Head of State).

The President's primary job, as the person who has the most electoral legitimacy, is to be the voice of Canada and Commander-in-Chief of its Military. In all diplomatic, military, or social situations, the President holds the responsibility to represent Canada and her interests to the best of his or her's ability. The President must ensure that his subordinates in the administration are performing effectively and hold them to account on behalf of the community. The President as the keeper of passwords and holder of government funds, is the primary defender of each citizen's right to the security of government assets. Finally, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, most Federal Agencies, the Prime Minister and the Vice President all directly report to the President.

The Vice President

The Vice President's job is, for the most part, described in the Constitution. The President's right hand man, the Vice takes over in the absence of the President and apparently gets access to the National Bank of Canada...which would be really nice about now >.> What makes this Vice Presidency different than others is that my Vice President will be concentrating exclusively on the military component of government. He will (and has) selected a Minister of Defence and they both will represent Canada in the allied military channels and represent the government to the CAF and Canadian militias.

My Vice President will be the current General of the CAF, Ramizeth.

The Prime Minister (Head of Government)

The Prime Minister is the Head of Government in Canada, and take will take his mandate from his appointment by the President and a 50%+1 confirmation by Congress. It is important to me that the Prime Minister have the confidence of the House not just for roleplaying sake, but because he will be official to whom the Ministers of Finance, Justice, Social Services will report. Simply put, every issue which Congress will have a direct stake in, the Prime Minister will as well. And if the Prime Minister loses the confidence of the House, I will appoint another person to take their place.

The Prime Minister I intend on nominating is Sir DeLaShaunRon Smith

The Cabinet Ministries

There will be a Minister of Industries, Minister of Finance, Minister of Social Services, Minister of Health, Minister of Education and Heritage, Minister of Player Development, Minister of Defence and Minister of Justice. Each Ministry (excepting Industries and Social Services) will be allowed to assign one Deputy who must be either under 200 days old or having never held a cabinet position. When I announce my cabinet, and specific programs regarding these ministries, I will comment further on their functions.

The Federal Agencies

Federal Agencies, unlike Ministries, operate at arms length from the government while in most cases receiving government funds and/or resources. While their leaders are often appointed by the President, in many instances they are not easily removed. In cabinet, an inherently political position, this would be a hindrance, but in the Federal Agencies it is best that partisan politics not cloud the work of the department. In this term of government, I will work to codify in law each remaining Federal Agency to spell out their missions, their rules, and to protect them from political interference.

The Federal Agencies that will operate under my government will be as follows:

CSIS

Office Francophone

eCBC

Canadian Ambassador Corps

Office of the Attorney General

Office of the Auditor General

eCanadian University

Increasing efficiency and decreasing burnout, a cabinet structure that takes into account the reality of game mechanics while simultaneously giving our government a Canadian feel.

Just one of many reforms you can expect from the seventh Jacobi Administration.

I knocked out 26 Russians today with my awesome tank o' doom. Not sure what other people have to say about the new war module, but I'm loving it so far.
