I'm a THIEF

Day 1,761, 21:46 Published in USA USA by JB Battlemaster

I was sitting around the other day watching the situation around Air Force and The Black Sheep unfold.

The other night, it took president Stevens about an hour to barge in our new IRC channel with the words “thieves, thieves” on his mind; hidden behind the convenient subtlety of a computer screen barrier but I assure you, those were the words on his mind. He has since posted an adorable article outlining how his role was vital in him coming and asking for the QM supplies of the AF that allegedly we had decided to steal. We hadn’t. We could’ve, but we didn’t. We could’ve also kept the MU and not bought a new one, but we didn’t. We could’ve deleted the IRC channels and access lists, but we didn’t. And you know why? Because a tipping point was reached where we just wanted OUT of the suffocating grasp of another less than decent government. And despite all that’s been done on our end, we weren’t looking for anything in return, we didn’t want a down-and-dirty departure but the government decided to start counting the pennies. To help them in their calculations below they (as well as you, dear reader) can find a summation of some of the direct investments and donations that those of us who left the Air Force have made towards the well-being of the MU. The countless hours spent as officers are not included in any of these calculations. They are a gift to the great airmen and women of the Air Force and we wouldn’t want that gift marred by a simple monetary value.

(Average market values of 0.05usd for frm and 0.20usd for wrm are used throughout these estimates)

The first and probably most significant bunch of donations to the Air Force have been made by Former Commanding Officer Roper 70. For over 6 months, he has been donating the production of his personal 12 cattle farms, 2 hunting lodges, 15 saltpeter mines and 2 rubber plantations to the unit. That adds up to 936,000 frm and 1,125,000 wrm over the period or in monetary terms 271,800 usd. In the latest expansion of infrastructure, Roper 70 also got another 15 saltpeter mines funded by the government with which he has since produced another 211,575 wrm or in monetary value 42,315 usd. In addition to that, due to insufficient government funding to cover the expenses of the Air Force, Roper 70 was forced on several occasions to sell personal stock of Q1/Q2 food and Q1-Q4 weapons to cover the day-to-day needs of the unit. Of these instances only 3 were reported for reimbursement since he didn’t believe his sacrifices would ever be considered worth “nothing”. The three reported sums are 2 lots of 140,000 usd and 1 lot of 80,000 usd which were never actually reimbursed. Speaking of reimbursements, out of the first 1 million that is being demanded back 50,000 usd went to both TTi and Firo Prochainezo as reimbursement for them using personal funds for MU business. That’s another 100,000 usd. Lastly, as the overall storage for the unit was insufficient Roper 70 invested in 2 x 9000 storages and another 75 x 1000 storages. The monetary value of those is 70 gold and 131,250 usd. Not even counting the numerous other occasions on which he has provided soldiers of both Boot Camp and Air Force with personal supplies as rewards for their performance or as part of recruitment efforts, the total for Roper 70’s investment of personal funds is in excess of 70 gold and 805,365 usd.

The history of giving by eShades is no shorter than that of Roper but given the increasing length of this article I’ll just mention the key points. He kept being broke during his term as Commanding Officer of the Air Force because he put everything he had in the unit. Heck, he kept being broke for putting everything he had in AF even after he retired and got talked down to about “stealing a million” by certain people. I can’t give you the precise monetary value of these contributions as I am writing this article from my own personal knowledge and I haven’t discussed financial matters with eShades all that often. What I do know is that he kept the bots and scripts working and was there almost 24/7 to fix anything that went wrong. He was there when the government needed new scripts written and did so within the hour. He’s been doing this at least since February 2012. Now, I know a certain one-time Secretary of Technology who charged 100 gold just to design a semi-working webpage and wanted 20g per month to maintain it. Where would that put the value of eShades’ coding? 240 gold would probably be an understatement, but let’s go with that for the sake of simplicity.

All the rest of the people who left have sold personal stock on more than one occasion to cover moving expenses and/or immediate supply needs of members. No one ever kept track of these as no one was thinking the day will come when the government starts to haggle their way around. To get to the famed 15 saltpeters per person though. It should be noted that GlHalJordan has already dissolved these companies and returned their monetary value to Israel Stevens out of sheer frustration and desire to move on. I, personally, stand on principle and will only return the difference between the dissolve value and the market value of the wrm I have produced and donated to eUSAF. These are foregone benefits either in terms of forgone rank points or forgone work in my own companies. The investment was made on the 4 August 2012 and wrm donations were made by everyone daily up until 13 September 2012. Throughout these 41 days, each of us has produced 211,575 wrm with a monetary value of 42,315 usd which when added up comes to 296,205 usd.

All this is not even counting the hosting of bots and websites, the friendly donations to the civilian MU which I’m sure MollyEmma can confirm and many other incurred costs. Just those few things that I know of and have come to my mind add to a sum in excess of 310 gold and 1,201,570 usd.

And we get called thieves over a few mines that have already paid out for 2/3 of their dissolve value? Yes, I will gladly cover the remaining 1/3 of that value and get this whole case over with. But apparently that makes me a thief. So be it then... I guess I am a thief.

Disclaimer2: It should also be noted that out of the money the government is demanding back, 612,000 usd worth of infrastructure are still within the Air Force with creitzell, emdoublegee and FindxThexWay.
