While we have no idea who the member spike belongs to (it could belong to any of the candidates), it will be up to the admins if they're deemed illegitimate. Either way, no one looks innocent in any of this.

If UIP has had a decent spike of members in the past few days, it's not without reason to think that it's because of people moving in to vote for one candidate or another.

Therefore, imo, both candidates should feel free to solicit outside help.

@Cerb, I can account for at least 43 of the 80 new members. I ran a very smart MM campaign, and 40 people joined from it. Other UIPers are also running recruiting MMs. So that may account for some of the other 40.

The membership spike is not the issue. Outside party members addressing the USWP to vote in other party elections is. Those dots just don't connect.

The membership spike is completely the issue.

What you have is a membership spike immediately surrounding an election. That leads outside users to believe fraud is involved. As such, they respond with their own measures.

I am personally against getting involved in other parties internal issues and will not propagate any such actions myself. USWP members expressing their interest or preference for other parties PP candidates is not something I would consider influencing or censoring however. It is their right to do so. I simply hope voters will act responsibly here.

Thanks for stepping up, bro. I don't encourage people -- including the FEC -- to mess with intra-party politics.

That's why I thought the FEC getting involved with the Libs last month was wrong. And that's why I do not consider this any form of PTO.
