Welcome to the first edition of the revised Front Line Journal. From now on my paper will focus on the most genius module of eRepublik, the media. While economical, political and military modules have gone through drastic changes over these years and months, the media has stayed almost exactly same as it was in Beta in the year 2008 when the game was launched. It gives the citizens of the world a channel to express their thoughts and share them so others can read them, think about it and comment them. Just as eRepublik is a skeleton for the community to shape it as they see fit, the events of the game are a skeleton for the media to shape it as they see fit. If there were universities in eRepublik, the students wouldn’t read battle logs and statistics pages, instead they would take a peek to the media and articles written about those famous battles and wars. Indeed who controls the media is a very powerful man. Governments have been shattered and countries have been plunged in to switching allegiances through persistent media campaigns. Thousands of newly born Frenchmen were killed by a Spanish media campaign spreading false information amongst them.

Many of us only read the domestic media, some of us only read the top-5 articles that can be seen from the frontpage directly. I aim to fix this issue. Many players are riddled by the events of the world, and battle reports are trying to feed this need by compiling the seemingly random military maneuvers in to a sane explanation. This however is a very narrow point of view towards the world. Reading the foreign media would give additional information, but it’s time consuming. This is where I step in.

Media is written in cycles of 48 hours, as that is how long articles stay up in the media. To ensure you get fresh news in every edition, I’m going to try to write these articles in every two days. For starters, we shall start with three leading nations of both alliances, total amount being six. This means you will get 30 articles from around the world compiled to you in every edition. Each article might include a comment, a recommendation or a random article I or some reader found interesting. The basis however will always be 5 articles each from USA, Poland, Spain, Hungary, Serbia and Russia.

The article quotes my old calculations regarding the economical importance of Liaoning, only that they were calculated 5 months ago when eRepublik was still flourishing. Liaoning is far from that status today, so the article is blatantly overdramatizing the situation to get more help. In other words, the Serbian MoFA lies to the people of Russia.
