Germany faces Liberation!

Germany


It’s no news to the UK that Germany has recently become overrun by Swedish and Polish aggressors. Currently Germany hold no regions, and it’s citizens are scattered throughout the e-World. However, a beacon of hope has been lit for German everywhere, and lit in the most unexpected of places.



PEACE


PEACE announced that they are going to send their armies to liberate the German regions, already Italy, Indonesia, Hungary, and more PEACE countries are declaring their intent to invade Sweden and Poland. But why are they doing this?

There’s a huge sense of déjà vu around this subject. It just so happens that the Last time Sweden held German territories, PEACE liberated them then as well. In return, PEACE expected Germany to join them. As we know, Germany didn’t join, and began a passive membership in Atlantis. So will PEACE expect the same of them this time? People in Germany are just as split over whether or not they should join PEACE as some people are in the UK. But what does this mean to us?

Obviously it is wise to take the neutral path, siding with PEACE will alienate us from countries such as the USA, and Canada, I don’t think that not helping PEACE will damage our relations with them, after all, we are still maintaining MPP’s with both Italy and Hungary.
However, what subtle messages are PEACE sending to other nations?

”Those who choose a path of neutrality are destined to walk the perilous path alone”

It seems, that now ATLANTIS has gone PEACE are trying to intimidate smaller countries into joining them. This will increase the pressure on countries such as the USA, the UK, and Canada into trying to establish a new alliance. This may be because some people argue that the fall of Atlantis will result in the collapse of PEACE, due to the fact the PEACE was only made in retaliation to the formation of Atlantis. I myself don’t think that’s the case, perhaps PEACE is bored because it no longer has a big brother to quarrel with.

Although the UK won't be taking part, I would still like us to voice some form of subtle support for the PEACE members who are liberating Germany.


USA


The 15th will be a day to look out for. Not because we will all be voting for our party Presidents, but because PEACE have claimed they will attack the USA on that day. Popular opinion is that it’s just a reuse. Seeing as PEACE are going to be busy in north Europe for a few days, I don’t think it’s going to fall through either. On the outside, the US government seems to think the same, their President, Scrabman simply comented the article with “meh” in response to some cheesey antagonistic comment from the “People’s Gazettes’s” old friend Quicksilver.



UK’s MoFa


Some people seemed annoyed that Glorious Failure was positioned as the Minister of Foreign affairs. So far he has been doing a pretty good job, tackling a few issues which have been flagged up recently. However, our government has seen an increase in people who are Pro-PEACE. Even though there are still many people completely against the notion of sending of an application form, perhaps we should consider the positives of joining PEACE;

• France and the Netherlands – both on our doorstep
• A large community to get support from
• Organised and strong military forces
• Good organisation

And then, the negatives;

• USA, Canada, and Ireland – all at our backdoor
• Starting a new alliance could be more interesting, and heighten our sense of achievement.
• New alliances create opportunities for the UK to become a large influence in the international setting.
• Joining PEACE will alienate our long time allies, the 3 countries mentioned above.
• Romania will not stop bitching about it.

I personally feel that creating a new alliance would be more fun, and could end up being more beneficial for the UK all round.

But do we need to back an alliance?
