George Armstrong Custer Retires

Day 846, 00:23 Published in USA USA by bombonato

Dateline: Sunday, March 14 - Day 845
Location: Western Australia
Reporter: Staff Writer PFC acg515

Major General George "F-Bomb" Custer has announced his retirement from the eUS Army today, ending a long and illustrious career with the most powerful fighting force in the US Military.

For most of us, his accomplishments during this time have been seen as nothing short of amazing. The list of his accomplishments is indeed long and bright. He is most well known to the Army as someone who fixes broken organizations, aka "The Unf***er". He has been in charge of the Public Affairs Office, most notable for being the home of the Army Times, has been the first (and only) Quartermaster Inspector General, meaning he was pretty much in charge of supply. If you name it, he's probably done it.

Most people at some time or another in the Army have met Custer. People who have are usually profoundly changed. He has made careers, brought people in, been a major influence, has been a reason why many people have stayed in the Army, and has been a great friend. In the past day, I have seen more outpouring of respect than for any other person that has retired so far. And that's saying a LOT.

He will be headed to Australia, for adventure, excitement, and fun with the Dropbears, one of the strongest forces in Australia, and an internationally known force.

One of his latest accomplishments has been becoming the CO of the US Army Headquarters Corps. In the orders thread where he announced his retirement from the Army a long line of farewells could not help but be noticed.

You will be greatly missed. It has been a pleasure to work with you all these months and I know you will raise some hell down under🙂 Don't be a stranger! O7 - Chevere

O7 Custer! You're going to be greatly missed. Your hard work got the Army through some tough times. Best of luck in Australia. Give Wally Wilson some hell for me down there.
. - Quanah Parker

He gave a lot to the Army. Whenever something needed doing, chances were that Custer was doing it already. - Onishi

Custer your dedication and hard work will surely be missed. Your departure leaves a big hole. It's been a great pleasure working this with you. Many times you have given me a good source of needed comic relief as well. I'm going to miss having you around. If you ever change your mind, you will always have a home at AGW. Good luck and take care. - Jason The Great, General, AGW

General Custer, I've got tears in my eyes reading your announcement. You helped me out in my early days in the Army, and convinced me to stay. You gave me a shot in the Tropic Lightning Division and it's rejuvenated the game for me. You are an inspiration to me and all players in this game. Most importantly, you set an example that all the youngsters in this Army have learned from and benefited from. They will be better RL people because of you.
Today is supposed to be my gold day - Field Marshal and Strength 15. But "Pi day" will be bittersweet after learning that the founding father of the 25th is heading out.
Loyalty means whenever you need something, it's yours. You've got my loyalty, 100%.
07 brother, we'll miss you in the US Army.
Kick ass with the Aussies!
- Zheng He

Custer will be missed, and hopefully he returns sooner rather than later!

In one of his articles published during his short-lived run for the Vice Presidency he published a list of his accomplishments. Here they are:
