Flatster4CP – Meet the Candidate

Day 2,050, 00:43 Published in Australia Australia by AugustusX
Dearest Friends, Supporters, Colleagues, Acquaintances and Comrades,

NOTE: My memory is like a fish, chances are some of this not in order... If so, just ignore it and move on.

As the CP race heats up and everything reaches it’s serious business stage, I thought now might be the chance to throw in a bit of chill and informal article about myself and my time here in eRepublik so you could get to know me and hopefully feel a bit more comfortable if I was your CP. So to begin...

I joined eRepublik 10 October 2009 after hearing about it on another nation simulator I played. Some guys and I were looking around to see what other things to do with our sad and miserable lives (obviously none of us had girlfriends). I only lasted a few weeks here on my first attempt. I joined the ADF, did some fighting and stuff or whatever it was we did in V1 but I didn’t last. At this time I met the first few eAustralian’s, notably Dean_Kong and Cerridwen Voeland who would become CP whilst I left. (Thanks Tim and Larni for the help).

Anywho, I joined back up in a moment of boredom and loneliness (when the feel of your own hand just can’t bring you back from that emotional black-hole of self pity). So again I joined the ADF and was placed in some squad under Rowan_Quigley (now Mikhail_Alexander) and did rather well. It wasn’t long before he was gone (somewhere in the world... Love you Rowan) and I was promoted. I stayed longer this time and eventually reached a platoon commander in the ADF. Things were going well, except for the fact we were entirely PTO’ed by Angels and Demons (love those guys, I owe them a lot for making me stay and play).

I was elected into my first congress as an ATO candidate where I met Miss_Wolf for the first time where she helped me coordinate votes. I was nominated as a member of the Australian Military Party (AMP – don’t hold that against me please, I was young and foolish!)

I enjoyed congress so much that I ran again. I was also added to someone’s cabinet (I can’t remember now...) as Minister for Education. I loved it so much, I went back for more and have served in many cabinets since then in a wide array of positions. Now, whilst in the AMP I met a nice chap, Wally Wilson. Wally was a nice guy at this point and encouraged me to stay, which I did and I owe him a lot for that. He backed me in for my move as Party President of the AMP (which I won!) and led me to stay.

So a lot happened in this time and I met a whole bunch of cool people, to name them would go on forever, but some of those old farts are still here today... (you know who you are...) But I must name one. Sam_Cougar. Because Shane (RL name) is no longer with us. He was what made me continue playing, donating me countless amounts of gold, weapons and was just an all round awesome bloke. Miss you to this very day Shane.

I was young, involved in politics, and keen to do some stuff, so naturally I ran for CP /scarcasm. You can see my campaign in my newspaper history, that’s always a good nostalgia place. I ran in the month of March 2011 against Sir_c0nstant which can be found here. I have never forgiven SC for his win... (I kid, you were a great CP SC). But I managed to claim 133 votes to SCs 157, a damn close election for a 2x CP running like SC. I was saddened at this loss, but happy I did so well and especially for such a newbie like myself. But anywho, I decided to take a break after this loss and left for a couple of months.

I returned once again, this game just seems to draw you back. I don’t know what it is, but I just relish in the chaos (Copyright DocterDry, Discrate1 etc etc), but seriously it’s a fun game, even if Plato is a tool. I returned to find many of my friends still here and it was nice to say hi again. So I continued playing and I am pretty sure I joined the ADF again and became Commander of the AAR (Australian Army Reserves) after sometime and enjoyed that. I also joined various cabinets (including Venja’s I believe as Minister for Defence) I can’t exactly remember a great deal but there was an expanse of time here...

*time time time time time time time time*

Then suddenly my brain remembers stuff. So I became Marshal of the Australian Defence Force (for anyone complaining about me wanting to review the ADF, I’ve done my time there that’s for sure, but nostalgia cannot block progress). I had the pleasure of working with Banzai, Venja and Majester, all hard workers and good lads. I resigned that position after a while and went to 2-clicking. When I resumed activity I was straight back into it all, hitting up congress and cabinet. I think this was my time of being Speaker... well they were some dark but undoubtedly fun days. Larni and I were good “friends” where our casual greet was “FU”. I did 4 terms consecutively as Speaker, for anyone that’s been speaker, not an easy feat by any means. I enjoyed that because I learned a lot.

I was also in various cabinets, as Minister of Defence, Education, Information and I was deputy in Immigration and Foreign Affairs too I believe. I did a lot. Then I took another break and went into two clicking after the eChilean occupation. For those of use who suffered through eIndo PTO and occupation for about 2 years, eChile was a very sad time. So much work had gone into getting back our regions and political sphere only to be f**ked over by... well... anywho...

So I did my HSC at this point. It was good timing if you ask me (or my mother, who was all over me like a Chinese tiger mum). I came back in the holidays, and have been here ever since! I have been 2 clicking since March-June but during this June I revamped myself and got back into it. Now Callumh123 will say I haven’t been in cabinet and blah blah, well yes. I haven’t been. But that doesn’t mean I cant see what laws are going through, what angle the government is taking, what our MPP stack is, or what our revenue is. I am not blind and I am well aware of what is happening.

So that is a little bit about me, I hope you enjoyed reading it and feel more comfortable that I have what it takes to lead eAustralia. Love you all and stay tuned for more campaign articles to come!
