First Steps in eRepublik

Day 1,309, 16:19 Published in Norway Norway by MrManiac

Repost of an older article:

You have just created an account, you discovered a lot of buttons and just do not know what to do with them – your first days in eRepublik can be a little confusing. This is why I decided to write this article for new players – to make the first steps easier.

Daily Tasks:

As you can see in this picture, there are daily tasks you should do. Just click on the three pictures and you will be directed to them.

The first one is “Work”. Click on it and it leads you to the job market. Take a job and work there.

The second one is “Train”. Go there and increase your military skill and the damage you do on the battlefield.

When you have done these two tasks, you just have to get your reward (third one on the picture) and you have basically done all the basic stuff in eRepublik – it probably does not even take 5 minutes. On days when you do not have time just stop here. It won´t be much of a disadvantage for the development of your citizen.

But when you have more time there are some more options:

The eNorwegian Community:

eRepublik is a “social game”, so to fully enjoy it, it is best to take part in the social life as much as possible. There are several possibilities for this.

1.Make friends.

A lot of interaction and communication takes place through the shout system (to the right of the main page). So it is quite important to make friends.

Just click on the profile of somebody and click this:

It is probably best to make friends with every Norwegian you can find. With non-Norwegian I myself am a bit more picky.

A good start probably is to make friends with our congressmen: Congressmen

Or you just start with me 😃

2.Forum and IRC

Another form is to visit our forum and irc. The forum you can find at www.erepublik.no . In case you need help, this is probably the best way to ask for it. Post in this thread for new players: http://www.erepublik.no/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=3075 to receive 50Nok.

We also have an irc-chan #eNorge on Quakenet ( http://webchat.quakenet.org/?channels=enorge )
Best time to chat there is probably the evening 🙂

There are also a lot of other countries with their own channels and forums. You can find them here:
Community Communication

3.The Media

Last but not least there is the Media to communicate.
Again you can find it on your profile page:

You can choose topics you are interested in and click on them – but as Norway is rather small it is probably best to use this link:

http://www.erepublik.com/en/news/rated/all

There are not that many articles in Norway anyways 😃

4.Wiki
If you want to find out about the game on your own you can also visit the Wiki:
http://wiki.erepublik.com/index.php/Main_Page

More Things you can do:

There are 5 more things you can do in this game.
1.Missions
2.Start your own companies
3.Start a military career
4.Start a political career
5.Become a Journalist

Missions:

One of the things you can and should do is the missions. You can find them on the left side of your profile page under your nick. The rewards you get for accomplishing them will improve your Citizen faster than the training and working – at least in the first few days.
If you need help for missions, you can always ask on the forum.

Economy or “What the heck should I do with my Gold?”

The question most young players ask me is: what should I do with my gold?

Well, first of all, what you should definitely NOT do is:
1.Do NOT spend them on wellness packs.
2.Do NOT spend them for economic boosters (unless it is for a mission)

The best thing you can probably do in the beginning is to open up a company with it. As a new player you have 3 Free Lands. With your first 10 Gold I´d advice you to buy a RAW MATERIALS company – no food, no weapons. It probably is impossible to lose money with raw materials as long as you do not have employees.
You can do this in the menu “My Land” - then just click on the free land.

Military:

War is an essential part of this game, however especially for young players this is a tricky part.

A lot of citizens find themselves trapped with no money and no health from fighting. It is easy to screw yourself right from the start in this game, there is no sign telling you "Do not fight if you cannot get your health back to 90+ ", even though there should be.

Now in case this happened to you, it is really hard to get back on your feet on your own. On the Norwegian National Forum (http://www.erepublik.no/viewforum.php?f=10 ) you can easily find people who help you there.

In general as a new player you should not use weapons to fight (not efficient yet) and only fight for as much health as you are able to recover.

Politics

You can also begin a political career.

No, not like this guy. It is a little different here.

The first step is to join a party. You can do this here:

“My party” in the community menu.
You can take part in the political work of the party, take part in congress elections and maybe even become Country President one day.

Media

Last but not least you can start your own Newspaper and write articles – it does not even have to be about eRepublik. As there is not much media activity in Norway you have a guaranteed readership 😃
The long time goal of media men is to achieve the Media Mogul Medal – you need 1000 subscribers to your newspaper for that.

This brings me to my last point: always subscribe to newspapers of fellow Norwegians to support them on their way to the Media Mogul Medal.

If you have further questions feel free to ask me.

I hope you have a fun time here in eRepublik!
See you on IRC or the Forum!
