This week, Latvia tried to invade its Phoenix ally Estonia.
Here is the Estonian view of events after the first battle.

Q: What's your response to the interview with the Latvian President?

A: Well, for example, he claims that we kept pressuring the peace without saying anything to them. If an Estonian went to Latvian chat and ever mentioned a word "peace" then it was automatic kickban. Even right now .ee is banned there. But .lt isn't in our channels.

And this 12k. They say that they donated it from their National bank(org) to our treasury, but our people have searched and no 12k. Furthermore, they donated the 8k EEK from the second swap directly from Latvian treasury to Estonian one, but they didn't do so with the money from first swap. So our side can't be blamed for this, because you can't take money from treasury without a proposal. But you can transfer money away with MM for example with an org.

And we never had a pro-EDEN CP. That guy, who lived in Canada for a while had friends from Canada(RL, I think.) And actually, he was a horrible president. Impeached with 36:1.

Q: How long was he in office?

A: I think 3 weeks. People wanted to impeach him before, but some foreign PTO who got in our Congress made the impeachment proposal one day before Russian incident. So we voted NO then. We wanted to give him another chance. But it wasn't worth it.

Q: But then he screwed up the Russian invasion of Finland?

A: After that Russia-Finland war fail we really wanted to impeach him. But couldn't because of the 7 days gap. And we had 3 bad presidents in a row. From January to March. So we weren't very good in Phx either. Our effort in it was just horrible. But now we have a good president and expenses on military have quadrupled. So we have quite a few Field Marshals next to Latvia, but we did only a bit less damage than they did.

Q: Lemme wrap my head around the money issue. So they sent 8k, but that wasnt part of the 12k in question? That was another 8k?

A: With the first swap they got 12k from our treasury. With the second one they got 8k+. We got the 8k back right after the swap. But they even didn't mention that they had 12k EEK standing in their treasury. So in December our guys started looking it up. The president, that gave the permission to do the first swap actually finished second in the election. First one left office. So the second president wasn't very bright with these things. And didn't notice 12k EEKs missing. Yeah, we've had some presidents who aren't the brightest crayons in the box.

Q: So when you guys ask the Latvians for the 12k what do they say?

A: They said "ok" And did the proposal. But this time they proposed the money to be transferred to their national bank. And then they would donate it to our treasury.

Q: Ok so they proposed it and then what? Still no money?

A: The money made it to their org, but never came to our treasury.

Q: And how do they explain it?

A: They say that it's our mistake and they donated the money. We say that we have never recieved it. God(also known as admin) knows only, who's right. All I know is that our people, who are pretty good at what they do, claim that charts don't show the donation.

A: 12000/50= 240 G

Q: So what about the accusations that Estonia is pro-EDEN?

A: Wrong. We have pro-Phx president. We fight in Phx battles as much as possible. We're getting better in battle. And we even don't have any parties that would be pro-EDEN.

Q: So Estonia has no desire to join the Nordic club?

A: No, you can say that. In real life we probably like Finnish more than Latvians, but in game we are enemies.

Q: So what do you think of this Latvian attack on Estonia?

A: I think that their CP is a little troll who made a really bad choice. Their lvl 15 trolls are still spamming our media.

Q: Will Estonia retaliate?

A: The incident actually started that way that one of their trolls published an article which said that Latvia will invade Estonia. So our president wrote an article that we would calm down and *if* they attack then we will defend our home and make them cry. And they took advantage of that and wrote in their media that in our CPs articles we promised to attack them. And how they want revenge for that.

Q: So they really want a war with Estonia then? Since they are surrounded by allies, so they wanna make an enemy of Estonia.

A: We won't attack an ally. Most probably.

Q: They already attacked once. What if they attack again?

A: This current situation is discussed in Phx and I hope a good decision is made. Like peace finally or something. But I don't know what they want, probably they want this war. I don't know if they wanted it before the attack too or was it just the thrill they got.

Q: The Latvian President in his article yesterday talks about how Phoneix HQ voted 3-1 to punish Latvia, the punishment being 300 gold and sign peace with estonia. Bbut he says he wont give in to those demands

A: Yeah. Maybe next CP will be smarter.

Q: So if they attack again, will Estonia retaliate? And attack Latvia?

A: I would personally fight next to them, not against them. I really have no idea, this depends on Phx, our CP etc.

Q: Ya, but if they keep attacking? You cant turn the other cheek forever.

A: Well, I think the next time we may attack them back. Have you seen their CP candidates goals? 3 out of 5 have goals of occupying Estonia. And one actually has both Estonia and Lithuania.

Q: What about the Latvian accusations that Estonia wants peace with Latvia so it can have an open market? Cuz of all the export licenses for Latvia that Estonians bought.

A: That was one reason. Now we have another.

Q: So youre saying this is just them justifying their decision to make an enemy of Estonia?

A: Right. And another reason, this landswapping.

Q: Ya, so they can attack finland.

A: We gave them regions twice. They failed in Finland twice. And they were pretty rude with those deals, like not giving back those 12k EEKs. So our people were strongly against the swaps. And many actually left Estonia, mostly for other Phx nations. So for 3-4 months our presidents promised no swaps in their manifestos. Now we have Q5 hospitals in all of our regions. So what we don't want is landswapping. With this new hospital system one day without hospital may be lethal.

Q: Their President said that this war was for teh lulz. So they can get some excitement and baby boom.

A: They didn't get it. And the time to do it was worst possible. Cmon! In the beginning of the summer? People leave the game in summer and become 2-clickers. Who would sit near computer if they can drink beer on the beach?

Q: What about the accusation that Estonia is Finland's little brother and that's why Estonia doesnt want to let Latvia thru to attack Finland?

A: We have bad relations with Finnish now. After they attacked our high grain region. Which was actually justified. Because we gave Latvians those swaps. So we aren't most definetly Finland's little brother. But we don't want the swaps because of the troubles it causes to our people.

Q: Phoenix seems to be supporting Estonia here. What do you think of Phoenix?

A: I would be surprised if Phx would support Latvians in this case.

Q: In the Phx HQ the vote was 3-1. UK, Iran and Holland voted for Estonia, but Portugal voted for Latvia. Why do you think Portugal dissented?

A: I think they didn't have enough information about the situation. Or got the wrong idea. I wasn't at the meeting, so I wouldn't know what was discussed there.

Q: Would you like Latvia kicked out of Phx?

A: No, I wouldn't. There are good Latvians in Latvia (some of them fought for Estonia in the battle) and they aren't faulty for this.

A: That's his answer, but mine is no. We've had terrible CPs too.

Q: What if it comes down to it that one nation has to leave phoenix?

A: Well, if it's us or them, then most certainly them.

Q: Are you running for president anytime soon?

A: I am actually leaving the game in few days 😃 I'm joining RL army. Maybe I'll come back in a year or so. After the army stuff.

Q: What about phx, do you think if the choice came down to Latvia or Estonia, who would they keep? Right now they are on the Estonian side, but maybe they'd support the more powerful nation.

A: Well, Latvia has more FMs and they make more damage in important battles, but we have advanced a lot lately, so we will be a match for Latvia soon. And Latvia can't be trusted that much, as we see. One of their CP candidates wants to occupy Lithuania. So if this happens then two nations would already leave Phx.

Look at the first candidate. Lithuania isn't involved in the situation at all. Well, their people moved to Estonia and fought for us. But they haven't done anything to be on that list.

Q: So why does Latvia wanna invade Lithuania? Or is it just a goal for teh lulz

A: I think it's for teh lulz. But can't be sure. I read an article which gave an overview about the candidates. But the goals weren't revealed then so I don't recall any of them talking about invading Lithuania.

Q: The problem to me it seems is that Ltvia is surrounded by allies, and they want action.

A: Yeah, they must be bored.

Q: So if you dont let'em swap to attack Finland they'll attack Estonia.

A: But they should find action some other way. Not invading allies. Our CP just can't give them the swap.

A: He would be impeached the next second. Our people really don't like the swaps, not after those two previous ones.

Q: What about exchanging regions, permanetnly, so they have a border with Finland?

A: That would mean losing our high grain region.

Q: You could get theirs.

A: But our companies are there. And people really don't want Northern-Estonia to be in Latvia.
