Q: So Latvia recently attacked Estonia, its Phoenix ally. You're the President of Latvia, how do you justify this?
A: Hmm, as I write in my newspaper - the reason were the constant accusations from Estonia about 12,000 EEK and mutual peace proposals. And a few times they refused to swap us to Finland, so we weren't able to attack the Finns. Also, their acitivity in Phoenix was very low and only because of Latvia are they in Phx. We got tired of Estonians climbing on top of our heads. So, our congress voted YES to attack Estonia.

Q: Why did Estonia want a formal peace?
A: For one reason. They have bought many export licences for Latvia, in earlier swaps. They want an open market.

Q: So they want peace so they can make money on these export licenses to latvia?
A: Yes. And if we signed peace with Estonia, we won't be able to swap to attack Finland anymore, since Latvia is surrounded by allies on all sides. We have Estonia, Russia, Lithuania on our borders. Poland is too large for us, but Finland is equal.

Q: So u need an open war with Estonia so you can attack Finland, and also to be able to swap regions so if anyone attacks your baltic allies, you can block invaders.
A: Yes, as we've done in the LT-PL war.

Q: Ok, so they accuse you of stealing 12,000 Estonian kroon when you conquered a region and took the money, and they claim you didnt give it back. Whats the real story there?
A: Real story about that 12k EEK is - I was the bank manager then. One payment we did with a Congress donation. The other I donated directly from the bank to their country accounts. I sent their finance ministry a notice about it, but I didn't get an answer from them till January..when they claimed that we stole 12k EEKs.

Q: What about the Estonian accusation that Latvia is planning to invade Estonia and divide it up with Finland?
A: That was just some citizens trolling. Actually we didnt plan to invade Estonia. We only wanted some fun. End the boring in Latvian life.

A: Practically yes.. Our ppl wanted a direct war, Latvia vs...someone, not just Latvia fighting as an
MPP. So we can get a babyboom.

As you know.. in RL Estonia and Finland are close... They are as brothers. So..in game too. Recent attack by Finland on Estonia was only a warning. Without our help they'd now be a part of Finland

If your population agrees with this interview i think that you should leave PHX. You are a disgrace to your people for pretending to be PHX yet bad mouth your allies in the USA and attack them.

The funny thing is that I understand Latvia very well. Being surrounded by allies is _BORING_. Phoenix will want to minimize the conflict since both countries will be able to supply soldiers to more important fronts, like China. In a long run, however, things are going to get ugly in the Baltic area.
