As we all see in our media - Ireland's government does not exist. Yes? No. It exist but it's fully closed for everybody outside of those gov-related circles.
As you know - government is serving citizens needs (yes, I have pink glasses). There are ~350 citizens in Ireland and here are ~20-30 government-close citizens.
Total silence in our media, mail threads and everywhere else could be caused by this reasons:
1) There's nothing to say.
2) 94% of citizens unworthy to have this information.
What information? At least:
1) Financial situation in country. From my citizen view - Ireland have 12 gold and 200k IEP. Looks not empty. But 3 month ago 5k gold were donated to New Ireland Bank. What happened with them? How much left? Where was it spent?
2) Battle orders. As I've said in MU coordination mail thread - Ireland is so cool that we don't need 0 coordination during at least 1 week, having 10 different MU's in country. Yay, we're really great, if it's so. But it isn't. Each MU fight wherever it won't and isn't aware of country recommendations (oh, no, there's no recommendations - gov don't care about it all?). I was answered that there's nothing to coordinate last time. Really? Our allies aren't fighting at all?
Reasons.
Everytime this topic is raised I hear the same thin - "we can't expose such info to our enemies, we'll die right after this". Woot?
Let's discuss. My points:
1) Be honest to yourself. Ireland is poor country and everybody know it. Any country that could be interested in wiping us have MUCH more resources, they don't care if we have 5% or 10% of their resources.
2) Be honest to yourself again. Ireland is not in top20 powerful countries of the world. We won't abruptly change any big battle result. Maybe only with National strikes, but not in day-2-day fights. (if you'r so proud to confess real situation - we're 38 of 70 in damage rating)
So what?
1) Nobody in Ireland except of those 5% know where are our money spent. And I'd like to now where my taxes are spent. (please don't start those stupid discussions about mrConway, it's history already and we should live now, not in the past)
2) All our 2-clickers and MU's fight wherever they want. There's no country strategy at all, so our damage is drained across lots of different battles which could be training wars, unimportant battles.

And they're much more powerful. Exposing financial info in their situation gives much more useful info to enemies. In opposite to Ireland.

I've had at least half a dozen ideas for CP update articles. Unfortunately they would all be taken over by Vik/RtK/Bill, and a few others. It is counterproductive to simply feed the trolls. They get plenty of sustenance in their own articles. If you want to blame anyone, then look at them. There is no incentive to write articles in this atmosphere.
I'm truly sorry.
I wish the nation was different right now. I will not give them a platform to continue their cyberbully tactics against some of our citizens. There are no consequences for their abuse, so their is no incentive for them to stop. if you can think of a way to end this dynamic, PLEASE message me.
P.S. I will also be happy to answer any questions from any citizens in a mail, if you are curious about any aspect of our gov't.
There's 300+ players here. And only some of them are annoying. Even if there's 50% of annoying people - 50% left.
Based on this logic you'll end up in Ireland with government+those people. And nobody else.
I don't like them -> I ignore them.
It's not mere discontent. These people have turned to aggressive, abusive content. They have no qualms about spouting any lies that fit their agenda. Everything is moving pretty smoothly.
Lots of good things are happening. One major development that I can't speak publicly about yet anyway, could change some of the dynamics in our region for the better. We just need to let a few events play out, first.
I know the MoD currently travelling irl atm, so thats why you haven't had daily communications in the MU thread from him. Well I'm able to communicate, but I've been told I'm corrupt for volunteering! Hence, Bhane looks for new blood, but only a few volunteer. Sure if you volunteer Bick, you'll find your activity is used constructively to provide a service.

From another point - you've been elected for a CP and it's your cabinet. You should have plans and roadmap on what u're going to implement. And don't say that you haven't.

Every CP should have a roadmap. I certainly have one.
Every CP also has to adjust to changes during the term. There have been HUGE changes in game mechanics, as well as pending geopolitical shifts to prepare for. The roadmap i had at the start of the term has certainly been detoured, but we are still on track.
Actually we may be on a better path than I had hoped, if a few dominos fall the right way in the coming weeks.

If you're "casual player" - don't agree on cabinet proposals.
If you're in cabinet - you should be online more often than usual players. And not disappear for 6 days.
The MoD has a deputy, so it's not like we're unstaffed. Also, life happens. There is no post so important that the game becomes more important than real life. If it seems that it does, then I'd say a long break should be taken.

That would give you your net profit per month then you can subtract about 100 food and 7 Q7 WEPS per bootcamper, IA army you can subtract 7 * DIV 2 + 3 + average of 50 food per player.

It was put in the bank to add to the capital used to cycle MM investments. A greater capital balance means larger returns. Larger returns means more money can be reinvested to growth, as we pay for the IA subsidies.

It happened 3 months ago. I think I recall one of the MoF articles discussing gold donations. Since the treasury can't spend gold, it must go to the bank to be converted to cc efficiently.
That was during my term so I'll take responsibility for any failure to communicate. I do remember addressing the issue, but it's no good downplaying the importance of a asset that size.
TDs cooperated with myself and the MoF to send that money to orgs so that it could be invested in the monetary market. It's not a very satisfying answer, but if we had kept them in the bank we would be literally unable to use them - blame plato for creating such a opaque system.
I'm going to shoot down that spreadsheet suggestion too. Any kind of useful accounting in in this game would require serious effort - that's not a realistic expectation.
when the rest hear it all went to the IA they just dont care. Why is there no government program for other MU'S. For example my 30 or so tax spend goes to the IA 🙁

Simply because the enemy has more resources than us doesn't mean that our financial situation is useless to them as information. There is a considerable difference between 5% and 15% of their capability. The enemy underestimating us by even a fraction of a perecentage point is an advantage to us.
On the other hand, if we give up our information freely, they can easily calculate what the state can do, where exactly our breaking point is. Uncertainly about just how far they can push us is to OUR advantage. They have bigger battles to fight, so uncertainly may lead them to committing less to stopping us than we can put forward to stopping them.
All of this is very basic stuff, you don't hand potential enemies an intelligence advantage. You just don't.
As for the military orders thing, you have a point there. Not my department though.

Even if this matters so much for Ireland (which I doubt, but anyway) - such info should be shared across party leaders in Ireland.
If not doing this - nobody knows what's done in our MoF, lot's of questions and agression would be thrown on every member of government (doesn't matter if they deserve it or no), small government-close circle potentially would have unlimited power in terms of Ireland which is not suitable for normal community.
There should be some kind of citizens control on what's government is doing with state (read - citizens) money (tbh I won't remember "lot's of private funds spent for Ireland" phrases until I see numbers with this private funds - this why all country funds belong to citizens).
Given the animosity of some parties to others, party leaders aren't to be relied upon with such sensitive information in general.
The members of government don't have unlimited power. Our actions are governed by a democratic mandate, and the broad nature of the Cabinet protects against abuses as well.
Citizens control of government is exercised via elections: Welcome to representative democracy. Which is hard-coded into the game.
For 2 years the finances of the country were a MoF secret. During that time Ireland kicked the ass of every country that got in a fight with us, even superpowers. Every Irish citizen was armed to the teeth with govt supplies and cash. In the context of money divided by population we were the richest country in the world by a long way. When the 'transparency brigade' finally got their way we were immediately robbed and wiped. And no, that wasn't just a coincidence.
