Day 907 screwups: Cromania blows MPP, Serbia rolls disobedient Bulgaria.

Day 907 opens up as a day not so interesting on the battlefields, as both alliances have refrained themselves from starting major battles after the Phoenix success in defending Liaoning and Eden victory in Limpopo against Argentina. Instead, a variety of actions have occurred which may have long lasting consequences in the future clashes between Eden and Phoenix. Eden is back on their trail of not caring for MPP😒 enough, while Serbia has attacked their neighbouring ally, Bulgaria and moves in for the kill after Bulgaria retreated all possible regions. Slovenia’s annexation of Austria is the final touch of days 906-907.

Romania plays themselves out from the Croatian MPP-set after launching a training war.

After a day without real wars, Romania decided to reinitiate their training war with Moldova, put on hold when the entire Eden had the possibility to fight against Hungary via Croatia’s impressive stack of MPP😒. Unfortunately the Romanian president didn’t mind to check Moldova’s MPP😒, presuming there isn’t one. Unfortunately there was, no other than the extremely vital Croatian MPP. It remains unclear why Moldova signed an MPP with Croatia 8 days ago in the first place, but the consequence of attacking Moldova was the immediate cancellation of the MPP between Romania and Croatia, also active in the war against Hungary.

In the biggest battle ever fought in Central Hungary between Hungary and Croatia, Romania was the biggest individual damage dealer for the Allied side with over 2 million damage. Romanian mobile forces have proved to be capable of dealing 1 million when fighting at the maximal capacity, but the Romanian damage done by ordinary citizens will be permanently gone from Croatia’s arsenal due to this error. Croatia recently proposed peace to Hungary, but the vote fell in the Hungarian congress, and the peace talks will surely fall after this new turn. After this severe mistake, there is little hope for the war to end on anyone’s favour, turning it in to a giant stalemate, which for sure doesn’t advance the Eden effort of erasing Hungary.

Due to the babyboom of Poland, Eden has more capacity to deal damage when both alliance’s full MPP-sets face. This puts Phoenix in to a permanent defensive position, giving the job of attacking to Eden. When the offensive perks like activated MPP😒 for Eden are narrowed, the World is in danger of falling back in to a worldwide agony similar to the two months before operation World in Flames, when the daily military movements consisted mainly from minor RW😒 in occupied territories and training wars. Lacking the Romanian MPP means the option of successfully attacking Hungary might escape from Croatia’s hands. The Croatian war, main event of the Balkan conflict has now reduced in importance, and this favours Phoenix greatly as they have a better start point to successfully defend the impending dual attacks on Liaoning and Hungary, a plan being under construction in Eden HQ for sure.

The saddest part of this mistake is that Romania wasn’t blocked and could have easily attacked Bulgaria instead of Moldova. Romania saved about 25G in attack costs but lost the Croatian MPP instead.

Serbia to erase the intractable Bulgaria.

In an operation later revealed to be unauthorized by the PHX HQ, Bulgaria prematurely took their activated MPP😒 in to use and attacked Romania, launching the full Eden set in return. After battles were halted on the Hungarian front and the fall of the permanent block ran by Bulgaria on minor Romanian regions, Romania returned the favour and proceeded to invade the border region of Ruse and later the Bulgarian population hub of Varna. In a national mission, Bulgaria managed to surprisingly win the battle of Varna and buy an extra 24 hours before Romania attacked again for the population there to evacuate to Serbia after the government realized the desperate position Bulgaria had played themselves. The unbalanced situation and Bulgaria’s low Gold reserves forced their government to subdue the nation under temporary Serbian occupation.

Romania annexed the Bulgarian capital of Sofia, exposing to border Serbia who instantly started a battle to reclaim the province. During this battle, Bulgaria signed a MPP with PHX puppet nation of North Korea, which Serbia later attacked to get a free war with Bulgaria. After this Bulgaria attacked Serbia’s original territories, cancelling MPP😒 to give Serbia a clear pass.
Today around 04:30 eTime Serbia attacked Bulgaria and claimed all regions except the last region, which can’t be retreated. A RW in Sofia was started directly afterwards , and if it succeeds, Bulgaria’s capital will not change.
Annexing Bulgaria will erase the Romanian MPP.s facing them. This tactic was used by Eden as well when Finland destroyed Norway in order to close the active Russian MPP😒 against them. (Though the Supreme Commander of Eden, exposed to be a MI-6 sleeper, claims it was a devious plan to make Britain great. Like, Great Britain.)
The entire operation will cost an estimated 5000G for Phoenix in terms of lost hospitals/MPP😒 and RW:ing Bulgaria back to existence. This will surely affect to the relationship and position of Bulgaria inside the alliance, and this has spurred a suggestion from a member of Eden HQ that Bulgaria should revaluate their position regarding alliances, as they are currently boxed inside friendly nations with no room to expand, a situation fixed should Bulgaria desert their membership of Phoenix and join the ranks of Eden. The proposal doesn't meet much success though amongst the Bulgarian population.

Slovenian swaps start suspicions of Hungary storming to Southern France.

Yesterday around 14:00 eTime, Austria attacked Slovenia to erase the MPP😒 shared by the two countries, which then resulted in to a Slovenian invasion of Austria. Austria has a history of political movements battling for the control of the country, often aided by external voting troops, resulting to a partial or complete occupation of Austria many times in the past. The Phoenix-minded president retreated all but two regions to Slovenia, opening possibilities for a wider land swap targeting Eden or their colonies. Slovenia has the possibility of attacking Poland’s original regions with the help of their activated MPP😒, but a new try to mount a once failed, excessive landswap is more likely to occur.

Invading Burgenland would give Hungary the option to swap through Italy to border the Spanish Rhone Alps, still producing wood for Polish markets under Spanish observation. During the very first Slovenian attack against then Polish owned RA, Hungary was on her way to move to Western Europe and presumably attack Spain, who then occupied large parts of France. The plan failed though and nearly resulted to Croatia being transported to the shores of Atlantic, forcing Phoenix to abort the plan and cut the bridge.
Ths time there wouldn’t be Poland to block Hungary, and they would have fairly free hands to attack Rhone Alps and later Aquitaine, especially now when Croatia’s MPP advantage is severely weakened, making it impossible for them to attack and seriously harass Hungary.
