Congrats Woxan! (we need to talk)
fingerguns
There are 2 items that came across my desk this morning that my party needs to talk about.
Your article - http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/blu-spy-in-the-base-1288152/1/20
"A special thanks to the UIP and SEES for combating the 3 PTO candidates that were vying to run for President, we knocked them out and we did it good."
I suppose if the Federalists had endorsed you, we would get credit for helping to secure elections? There were 2 blockers. One was a Fed. Also, the DemReps ran CivilAnarchy on behalf of the 6th parties because he was a legitimate candidate. They didn't have to do that, and I think they deserve credit for being a bro. While we may not have put up an avatar saying to vote for you, we did make things easier.
This isn't a huge deal, but... meh, butthurt.
EDIT: Woxan edited the article! Thanks, man
🙂
RodDamon's article - http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/wake-up-call1-1288646/1/20
30 votes would have won us 3 countries.
You won by almost a thousand votes.
Now, I think it's a bit unfair to say that if a candidate wins big, they didn't do enough for the overall national agenda. Two-clickers are unpredictable. However, some Fed leaders have made a few interesting connections that should probably be addressed.
First of all, SEES wouldn't have had to move people into the UIP and the UIP wouldn't have needed to run a blocker if either the AAP or USWP put up a blocker. Both parties, I guess, thought endorsing you was more important?
According to your campaign manager, Max McFarland 2, you spent over 200 gold yesterday, advertising for yourself.
We were all over IRC yesterday. While it was clear you would win the election early on and your staff began making moves to set up, I saw no effort from you or your campaign to direct voters overseas. Actually, your supporters were nervously watching numbers roll in right up to reset, frustrated by small surges in Bradley's vote total.
Look, I'm not gonna go full on butthole hater troll here. We don't want to start this term on the wrong foot and I'm really not trying to come up with a long list of indicators that lead to you being... I dunno. Something. This isn't even really about you. But, I do want to say to you and your supporters that if you are out there saying people need to put the country first and we should work more with the JCS and make more moves on the international stage and we should take the initiative to secure elections and yadda yadda yadda... please mean it and help make it happen.
These aren't just empty issues or tactics to help candidates win. I think people need to get serious about this PTO/ATO business and we need to start expecting more out of our candidates, our representatives and our parties. You have a lot of support in this country and I really hope you use some of that influence to help set an example. Please hold yourself and those around you to a higher standard. I believe this term is going to be a really good one and we all have the potential to do some awesome things. I wish you the best of luck and look forward to working with your Administration. The Federalist Party and Easy Company are at your service.
President Woxan + fingerguns
EDIT: I apologize for doing this on the first day of the term, but I hope we can just move on from here.

Please help make it happen.
Voted.
As a Fed, I support this article.
Here comes the bullshit as usual.
^
Im with stupid ^
Frost, you're better than that...
What's bullshit is there wasn't a full on alert to let people know there was a PTO in the works. Maybe you have to be "in the know" to get the alert, but I didn't know that the PTOs were happening until after the elections were over. Woxan, and all of the other candidates, are somewhat responsible for this, but if Woxan's 200 gold in ads were the reason why there were no ads alerting of PTOs then there's a major problem with that.
Signed,
A guy who's angry at everyone who didn't alert him of the PTO risks, so he could vote wisely.
Wow, Kyle maybe that was the presidents job. Where was he? Also Woxan personally spent 55 gold on advertisements.
No bullshit here, gentlemen.
Just an honest "WTF?"
Sorry, I guess I should have also blamed him, as well.
I guess I was let down by:
The Candidates
The Parties
The former executive branch
The Militia I am currently in
Congress (go figure)
Guess the eUS just kinda shat the bed on this one.
There were also a ton of Bradley ads. I don't mean to give the wrong impression here.
Woxan's camp contacted me about PTOs, which is why we placed a blocker. Bradley's camp didn't say anything about PTOs or ATOs. If BR had somehow won this election, this article would be very very different.
Voted hard.
Since when is it the eUSA's responsibility to guarantee stopping PTOs? I get what you are saying but honestly, I will vote eUSA 90% of the time before I will vote another country... Why? Because that is what I want to do..
On a personal level, I wouldn't mind to help stop PTOs. There should be a newspaper that people can subscribe to so that they can vote smart, if you will. Or even better, include these as part of the DoD orders. That way it isn't any one persons responsibility and you already have most of the active population (and even two-clickers) subscribed.
I think the point about a lack of communication regarding these things is valid. We did indeed waste hundreds of votes which could have been better used elsewhere.
And...I'm off. Was never here. You heard nothing...
Good comments.
We could definitely do more to step up communication about these things. I know efforts are being made in regards to the FEC, but party leaders should look at how they get that information to their members.
Even though the Feds do a lot, we could always be doing it more or doing it better. I appreciate the people stepping to the challenge. It forces us to up our game, as well.
o lawdy, is dam sum goatse?
Also, if by "Woxan's camp", you mean SEES, and me, specifically, then yes, I started the conversation about blockers. I suggested that DERP run CA, since he wanted to run, I suggested other blockers, and I moved party members from SEES to UIP. Why? Because it's good practice. Any time that party presidents work together to make our elections more secure is a good time. Also, there was maybe a minor TO chance, and also cockblocking Collins is always a good idea.
Also, a level 22 who's been here almost 2 years complaining about not knowing that there would be TO efforts is a little naive. Every election there is a TO somewhere. The questions are where, and how do we help? Our election was secure, so all we had to do was let democracy take over, and send all the active people we can overseas. As a party president, I'll admit that I wasn't prepared for this, though. I could have done a lot more to help, in terms of prior planning, and I'm ashamed that I failed to plan ahead. That is all.
True, as some one who has run ATO for the US in a couple elections its naive for me to not realize that there were PTOs. That said our leaders of every group i mentioned above had 2 days to prep for this. 2 days you say? Yes because all CP election participants are set on the 3rd now. So eUS fail big time on this and if i was in one of those countries I'd be pissed at the eUS
I think that's taking things a bit far, kyle.
