Comms 2: Asking the Right Questions
JackTrout
My first article in this series discussed the need for better communications. It is here http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/poscomms-please-editorial-2520040/1/20 if you missed it.
The logical follow on to that is, what shall we discuss?
So I’m going to list some topics. Which of these things matter? Which is most important to you, and which do you have questions on? Do you care about any of them?
1. Wars/fighting
2. Taxes
3. Dictatorship/democracy/MTO/PTO
4. Secure regions/bonuses
5. Baby boom
6. All of the above
7. Other (what?)
8. Not fussed about anything
You can reply in comments. Or send me a PM-- which can be very simple: Tick my profile link below, tick send message, write v in subject, write one or more topic numbers in the message, tick send.
You can add as much detail as you want, or only a topic number. You can ask as many questions as you like. Nothing will be screenshotted. Everyone’s answer (aside from comments below, obviously) will be kept anonymous.
Take some time to think, if you like, I won’t try to organise your responses for at least 2 days. Yes, the topics are necessarily interrelated. Yes, I am asking for you to take one small action.
There is no point wasting time on topics no one cares about. So, eAustralia, what shall we discuss?
G’on then, flood my inbox…

That is a difficult response to categorise...
coffe time :3
I'm all for that. 🙂
1/3/5 🙂
9. this weekends lotto numbers
10. Where can I top up my drink on Friday night in down town Hanoi, considering they a celebrating Unification Day (or kicking America out).
But all seriousness, it is good to see your back on track and trying to see what the public wants. JT I know you have a lot of potential, but you acted on impulse before. You were are man and said 'sorry' to me. And I am sure with this line of articles you have been doing you will win the hearts and minds of the people once again.
It is all well and good to give away stuff, but reaching out and finding out about the people is what matters.
It is just kind of heartbreaking to see the state eAus is in. I think ideas are more useful than blame-- and I hope to hear from the quiet people too... I think a lot of people are getting bored of a popcorn diet.
Pick your numbers please, or I'll put you down for a 6. And that's not cricket.

7. Put in writing some basic rules, is so difficult to focus some point if every 30 days all change.
You are saying there needs to be more regulation and continuity in the government?
Senate and government both.
In general: make a full system to working togheter and that give oordered info to all new players (or newcomer from other country)
Noted.
Would this "ordered info" include a senate forum? Or be more like a code of conduct?
Actually I heard lately about a scheme called "MoFA Academy"--where the current and/or outgoing MoFA gets newer FA personnel up to speed, with an eye to future advancement. We sort of try to do that already-- but FA is just SO much stuff, it might be useful to formalise something like that, and get people in early with good OJT and mentoring for the position.
I have more time to explain now (before by mobile).
Surely an external platform can be useful if there are good resource to find in, ordered by categories, goals.
For example (about platforms)
- now there are 2 forums, I receive pm by different people to different forum. Would be good to try to close one (or insert "redirect" in the disused to other one).
- this is my personal hopinion, but I'm the last here, don't take this as insults: I think that also the graphics can make difficult to use some platform. Surely the active forums can have some improvements.
- forums can't be the only platform good for communities, but, in the same case, we can't make 1000 external refereneces. The compromise, for me, is an integration by forums and portal.
- here we could order the tutorials and others initiative (JDS, eFarming), with the same design, clear for players to find...
For example (about Senate/Gov)
- linked to first points, we could debate about writed rules as CM and CP medal donations (I've not found info in public places..)
- stable info about every Gov (in forum, with economic info, how many money spent, and where, could be good to know to the Senate)
- expose all this rules to the citizens. A newcomer, in that case, can know all about eAustralian gerarchy, rules.
1 & 8?
War is fun,
Taxes only matter to big production really who should be offshore to actually profit anyway, i understand how costly high taxes can be with enough companies, too high and people leave, TP gold should also be considered to those who move for profit imo,
Anyone can run Aus, long as they run it with an aim of betterment,
A region sure, always.. Bonuses sure but eh,
Baby boom sounds nice but its a rough game to start at this point, bringing people here more useful sadly
And other.. I dunno
Wj: May I quote you on point 1? It sounds so much better coming from you. 😉
And noted.
TP awards CC now @_@

All of the above! It's a game that we volunteer our time for. So, let's have some fun instead of screaming T each other. 🙂
