Brazil halted in South Australia

SUMMARY

Following a pair of victories in Western Australia and Northern Australia, Brazil was halted by Allied forces in the critical South Australia region. On the Korean Peninsula, the Russians are in the process of shaping the battle field to make a potential American advance more complicated. In Saxony, the German counteroffensive was halted by Poland who is still declining to continue its attack. In the Aegean, Turkey and Greece remain stalemated thanks to cycling attacks on the Aegean and Mediterranean coast, as well as Turkish occupied Haifa Israel.


AUSTRALIA

Following a clutch win in the Northern Territories, Brazil launched an attack on South Australia before the MPP with Croatia became active. This time however, the move was countered by immediate US deployment orders to focus on the battle in Australia. By the close of South Australia, the wall was over 1.1 million points and was insurmountable for the Brazilians to consider a tanking effort. A few seconds before the close of South Australia, Brazil declared an attack on Queensland. By the rules of Initiative, the Battle of Queensland will be the breaking point for Brazils attack. A province cannot be attacked within a 24 hour period after your country is defeated in it. If Australia wins the Battle of Queensland, initiative will be flipped to Australia, and the Prime Minister can declare an attack on Western Australia or Northern Territories. The best option will be Western Australia, as that will gain a border with the South African occupation zone and help maintain attack options. Do or Die battles are to be avoided if at all possible, until the final deciding fight of the war.


GERMANY

Germany failed to capitalize on its initiative yesterday and was defeated in Saxony. For its part, Poland appears content to maintain its siege on the German borders while the rest of EDEN fights for position. From its current position, it will take Poland roughly 4 day’s to completely wipe out Germany, and that is a long time for a campaign in eRep. As was stated earlier, this blow will most likely fall once the US makes its move against Heilongjiang.


RUSSIA

While Hungary and Iran control the primary American objectives, there defense will be largely the purview of Russia. Russia still possesses activated MPP’s against the USA, and as consequence is Phoenixes best bet at counterattacking against the USA in China. As part of their efforts to force the US into bottlenecks, the Russians liberated the two regions of South Korea that border Kyushu from the Japanese. This action was most likely undertaken to prevent a potential US region swap with Japan up the Korean Peninsula, though why they think this is still possible after the US returned Kyushu is anyone’s guess. The Russians do love their complex plans, I still have fond memories of their efforts to amputate territory in North America to escape Canada. But I digress. Once the US declares war on Iran, the pivotal battle against the Iranians will be Liaoning, which Iran will face without MPP’s. Once the US secures Liaoning, there are three North Korean regions that Iran holds that must be secured as well. During this period, the Russians can attack the USA from there enclave of Hwangae and attempt to drive the Americans back. They can also use their puppet administration in North Korea to region swap Hamgyon if they fail in their initial effort. Additionally, the open war with China gives Russia an attack option against Jillin China, which they will almost certainly use to wall of Heilongjiang.

In all, the shape of China’s borders and the Russian presence insures the move against Heilongjiang will be a massive undertaking for the United States. By my estimation, if the United States wins every single battle of the campaign, we will strike Heilongjiang 9 days after the attack Liaoning, though this time could be cut if Finland gets froggy and attacks Russia. Time to stockpile guns.


FINAL ANALYSIS

With EDEN spinning its wheels in Germany and the Aegean, the Australian front has become the primary battleground of the war. If EDEN can get a decent Australian offensive going, they could then begin considering their options for the China offensive. As was stated above, the offensive against Heilongjiang will be a massive undertaking and will require allied assistance, as Phoenix is unlikely to let any of the Iranian and Russian regions go down without a fight. To that end, I should point out that the United States has become EDEN’s MPP hub. The only campaigns presently active that an EDEN nations soldiers cannot fight from the USA are the French and German fronts. The Aegean, Australia, and China fronts are all linked into the USA’s MPP’s and would make California and Florida the ideal bases of operation for EDEN’s Mobile forces.
